I am glad that billy and Franklin always mention repentance as well as faith in Christ alone for salvation. Jesus died not for us to live in sin, but that we would repent (turn from a life style of sin) and trust in him alone for forgiveness and salvation from sin. The Lord won't save us from sin if we refuse to turn from sin to Him in faith. If anyone is reading this, please consider being saved if you aren't already. whoever calls on The Lord WILL be saved! There are many uses of the word repent in the bible for example God repented on his wrath. He turned from it. Every time the word repent as a verb is mentioned it has a subject which states what that person is turning from. Because repent just means to turn from something. Ok now In acts when it says repent it is saying turning from your disbelief in Jesus and turning to your belief. It does not say anywhere in the Bible “repent of your sins” in a verb form. The ENTIRE book of John does not say repent anywhere in it in any bible version. The book of John is what saves. If you are going to trust that you can turn from your own sins to save yourself, you are trusting in your works from an unrighteousness standpoint. Trust in Jesus alone. You can then “repent” and change your ways but you will never stop sinning it is impossible. You aren’t perfect nobody is except him who was sent from heaven. If we are going to say that you have to first “stop sinning” because that’s what you are saying when you say repent, then you should also say you have to get baptized as well for salvation. “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: “ you see what I did there. Used scripture out of context just like everyone saying repent means “of sins” when God repented he didn’t sin. Here is another one out of context “Romans11:29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. “
Now does the Bible contradict itself? Because here is all you need to do to be saved is believe and TRUST in Jesus do not Trust in yourself. Romans 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved Romans 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved 1 John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. pennhatch spot on explanation man. I’ve been so confused lately as to what repentance means and what it means to get saved. I’ll give an example on somethin im confused over. I’ve been smoking cigarettes for over a decade now. I’ve quit probably hundreds of times. I’ve been trying so hard to let go of that sin because i’m ashamed over it. God gave me my body and im destroying it willingly. However that doesn’t take away from the constant shame that i feel while i’m doing it. Is the shame that your sin causes, more important in truly being repentive or is it WORKS ( quitting because god orders you to )

repentance is a change of heart and mind in response to God's grace and love that turns us from sin to Christ, that we can place our faith in Christ alone for salvation! it's the love of Christ that changes us. a free gift of salvation. graham ! what do I do? is it real o a dream ? i went to sleep and found my self in a field crying out for help, i prayed to die but here i was, i didn't know where i was and then a loud over welming voice said go and find your stone with your name , and found my self lost crying out i cant find my stone ,then a figure so perfick in out line but so bright came to me and i fell to my knees and i was so over whelmed but i was scared but i was at piece ,i couldn't make out his face, he asked why are you crying i cant find my stone , he handed me a stone and he said here is your stone with your new name and he put his hand on my head and said truly you are with the Lord!! then i woke up...…...another time before this i was so depressed i couldn't take it anymore, before i went to sleep i i cried to god saying just take me in my sleep i was in a boat then i fell in the water and was being pulled to the bottom something had a powerful grip on me, all i could see was the surface getting further away ,then it felt as if i was grabbed and i was being pulled to the surface at a high rate of speed ,then i woke up and sat up looked at my wife and i said tonia i died ,,,,,,,, and recently i lost my dad and i new my father felt he was going to hell when he died, he called me but i couldn't answer the phone while i was at work he left me a message saying bobby this is Dad call me back i need a part for moms car,15 minutes later i called his phone it was my mom breathing heavy i said mom?? yeah bobby bobby i said whats wrong i cant find a pulse on dad, i was so lost !!!! why didn't i answer the phone ??? and knew my dad was afraid he was going hell, after listening TO that message over and over every day that night i cried praying God forgive my father of all his sins and when my times comes I will take on me all his sins and take his place in hell so he can go to heaven to be with you!! Why does evil use youth? To deceive? Life isn't usually focussed on God, during those times. Are focussed on education, on work, the future, etc. Vert busy, very distracted. Etc. this is interesting, because it is a traditional view of the term repentence....so much so....that it almost dictates the meaning, of becoming a Christian....now can anyone come up with Biblical verses to support this teaching...
Christians that repent with the mouth only and not with the heart, are not repenting. Their sins still remain. They depend too on Jesus dying on the cross for them. Sins are taken away by our repenting. You remove one sin at a time. If you enjoy committing adultery, remove that sin from yourself.

repentance is not to turn from our sins at first. it is first and foremost to change our mind about ourselves and about God because an unbeliever cannout turn from his sins no he can only change his opinion and mind about his own state of sin and Gods righteousness and holiness and salvation and when he does that he believes and then he is saved and receives The Holy Spirit and then and only then he has the power to turn from sin and live a new lifestyle in Jesus our Lord. Repenting of your sins for salvation is never mentioned in the Bible.(KJV). Repent in Hebrew and Greek only means to turn around or change direction. You repent and turn toward God, not repent of sins for salvation.

Matt 3:1-2 - In those days came John the Baptist, preaching in the wilderness of Judaea, 2 And saying, REPENT YE: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand they (RELIGIOUS) will say, “SEE, you must turn from your sins (REPENT)” REMEMBER - it does not read "of sins" The answer to this passage is verse 9 - And THINK NOT to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham Do you see it? These people were THINKING that just because they had Abraham as their father (jewish) that they were "automatically" saved; THINKING the WRONG thing. They needed to "change their minds; think differently"! They needed to "repent". LUKE - 13:3 - Jesus said - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish The “religious” would say, "SEE you must repent (turn from your sins)”. What does the bible say? GO BACK ONE VERSE and GO ONE VERSE FORWARD. You will SEE the problem. - LUKE 13:2 - And Jesus answering said unto them, SUPPOSE YE that these Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered such things? - Luke 13:4 - 4 Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them, THINK YE that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem? - we CLEARLY see they were THINKING (suppose ye) they were righteous,they were NOT sinners like the one whom were killed. They needed to SUPPOSE OR THINK something different. They needed to "change their minds". (repent). CONCLUSION - we see, through analyzing scripture that repent simply means “to change your mind, to think differently”. When Jesus said,” Repent and believe the gospel”, He was saying to “change their minds” and believe the gospel. Some minds changed, but most didn’t. We know since they crucified Him. Rom 5:15-20 - KJV 15 But not as the offence, so also is the FREE GIFT. For if through the offence of one many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the GIFT by grace, which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many. 16 And not as it was by one that sinned, so is the GIFT: for the judgment was by one to condemnation, but the FREE GIFT is of many offences unto justification. 17 For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the GIFT of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.) 18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the FREE GIFT came upon all men unto justification of life. 19 For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. 20 Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: is salvation a FREE GIFT like this passage says OR is it a "contract" contingent on how much you endure???? the bible CANNOT contradict itself. Is your faith in Jesus and the gospel, OR is your faith in YOURSELF to "endure"?
If you don't know the Gospel how can you preach it. We repent (turn to Jesus) for the remission (Blotting out, forgiveness, pardoning) of our sins is the Gospel. Turning and believing the Gospel of Jesus is what removes sins. We cannot be justified by the Law but by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

@@rederickward47 We are about 13 hours from you and tired of being cold from the volcanic ash 🥶. That ash sure does make some beautiful sunsets though! We are in the beautiful smoky mountains. :) We would love to be further south for a better crop of fruit but we so love the mountains. Fresh air! And I don’t care for hurricanes. Lol My grandpa lives in Pensacola Fl and we have friends near Orlando and family in Jackson and Naples. The ones from Naples go to upper peninsula Michigan for fishing in the summer. And we have bad family in Clearwater Beach Florida. She’s an unbeliever and bitter in life. We pray for them all. Who knows maybe she will get tired of being bitter. I’d say you are in the best place that there is, that is, except for the hurricane weather. We seen a video of a wild forest of orange trees in Florida somewhere. They are growing wild with no care, and seemingly organic! We would love to have orange trees and banana trees. My husband is about a monkey when it comes to bananas! lol We do have lemon trees though! And strawberries! We used to have blueberries and raspberries and blackberries. Up north before we moved, we had mulberry trees and a full crop of the best raspberries! Yum! We would love to have coconuts n dates. We could have pecans but they get so big and we love being in the sun. Pecan trees are so huge that it’s just too much shade. Do you grow a crop there? We watch lots of videos on Florida crops. LOL We we’re thinking of moving there but we changed our minds.

There are many uses of the word repent in the bible for example God repented on his wrath. He turned from it. Every time the word repent as a verb is mentioned it has a subject which states what that person is turning from. Because repent just means to turn from something. Ok now In acts when it says repent it is saying turning from your disbelief in Jesus and turning to your belief. It does not say anywhere in the Bible “repent of your sins” in a verb form. The ENTIRE book of John does not say repent anywhere in it in any bible version. The book of John is what saves. If you are going to trust that you can turn from your own sins to save yourself, you are trusting in your works from an unrighteousness standpoint. Trust in Jesus alone. You can then “repent” and change your ways but you will never stop sinning it is impossible. You aren’t perfect nobody is except him who was sent from heaven. If we are going to say that you have to first “stop sinning” because that’s what you are saying when you say repent, then you should also say you have to get baptized as well for salvation. “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: “ you see what I did there. Used scripture out of context just like everyone saying repent means “of sins” when God repented he didn’t sin. Here is another one out of context “Romans11:29For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. “

Of course you should TRY to turn from sin and of course you should get baptized but only Jesus blood will wash your sins and if you don’t understand this then you don’t understand the Gospel. I’ll give an example on somethin im confused over. I’ve been smoking cigarettes for over a decade now. I’ve quit probably hundreds of times. I’ve been trying so hard to let go of that sin because i’m ashamed over it. God gave me my body and im destroying it willingly. However that doesn’t take away from the constant shame that i feel while i’m doing it.
Is the shame that your sin causes, more important in truly being repentive or is it WORKS ( quitting because god orders you to )

From myself: Many Protestant Churches have misunderstood Paul's writings concerning works. Ephesians 2:10 This one says that we should do good work in the name of Jesus Christ. In His name means repenting and living by the Ten Commandments. Jesus commanded His disciples to love one another at Passover.

God taps you from behind on your shoulder (Grace, you weren't even looking for Him). You now "Turn" to see Truth, (Jesus) by the power of the Holy Spirit. I was blind but now I see. You are shown that to Receive Jesus(the way, the Truth & the Life) you are to Totally place your entire faith (heart), Trust in Jesus and in Him Alone. graham ! what do I do? is it real o a dream ? i went to sleep and found my self in a field crying out for help, i prayed to die but here i was, i didn't know where i was and then a loud over welming voice said go and find your stone with your name , and found my self lost crying out i cant find my stone ,then a figure so perfick in out line but so bright came to me and i fell to my knees and i was so over whelmed but i was scared but i was at piece ,i couldn't make out his face, he asked why are you crying i cant find my stone , he handed me a stone and he said here is your stone with your new name and he put his hand on my head and said truly you are with the Lord!! then i woke up...…...another time before this i was so depressed i couldn't take it anymore, before i went to sleep i i cried to god saying just take me in my sleep i was in a boat then i fell in the water and was being pulled to the bottom something had a powerful grip on me, all i could see was the surface getting further away ,then it felt as if i was grabbed and i was being pulled to the surface at a high rate of speed ,then i woke up and sat up looked at my wife and i said tonia i died ,,,,,,,, and recently i lost my dad and i new my father felt he was going to hell when he died, he called me but i couldn't answer the phone while i was at work he left me a message saying bobby this is Dad call me back i need a part for moms car,15 minutes later i called his phone it was my mom breathing heavy i said mom?? yeah bobby bobby i said whats wrong i cant find a pulse on dad, i was so lost !!!! why didn't i answer the phone ??? and knew my dad was afraid he was going hell, after listening TO that message over and over every day that night i cried praying God forgive my father of all his sins and when my times comes I will take on me all his sins and take his place in hell so he can go to heaven to be with you!! LORD !! please lord please ,,,that next earley morning A giant very loud voice said BOBBY!!!!!! IT WAS SO REAL AS IF THE VOICE WAS STANDING OVER MY HEAD,,AND I KNEW it was reall because i just woke and i was just laying in bed ,,,,,,,,,,,,WHAT DO YOU THINK??????

Christians that repent with the mouth only and not with the heart, are not repenting. Their sins still remain. They depend too on Jesus dying on the cross for them. Sins are taken away by our repenting. You remove one sin at a time. If you enjoy committing adultery, remove that sin from yourself.

does not read "of sins"
The answer to this passage is verse 9 - And THINK NOT to say within yourselves, We
have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, that God is able of
these stones to raise up children unto Abraham
Do you see it?
These people were THINKING that just because they had Abraham as
their father (jewish) that they were "automatically" saved;
THINKING the WRONG thing. They needed to "change their minds;
think differently"! They needed to "repent".
LUKE - 13:3 -
Jesus said - I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all
likewise perish
The “religious”
would say, "SEE you must repent (turn from your sins)”.
What does the
bible say? GO BACK ONE VERSE and GO ONE VERSE FORWARD. You will SEE
the problem.
- LUKE
13:2 - And Jesus answering said unto them, SUPPOSE YE that these
Galileans were sinners above all the Galileans, because they suffered
such things?
- Luke 13:4 - 4
Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them,
THINK YE that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in
Jerusalem?
- we
CLEARLY see they were THINKING (suppose ye) they were righteous,they
were NOT sinners like the one whom were killed. They needed to
SUPPOSE OR THINK something different. They needed to "change
their minds". (repent).
CONCLUSION - we
see, through analyzing scripture that repent simply means “to
change your mind, to think differently”. When Jesus said,”
Repent and believe the gospel”, He was saying to “change their
minds” and believe the gospel. Some minds changed, but most
didn’t. We know since they crucified Him.
Rom 5:15-20 - KJV
15 But not as the
offence, so also is the FREE GIFT. For if through the offence of one
many be dead, much more the grace of God, and the GIFT by grace,
which is by one man, Jesus Christ, hath abounded unto many.
16 And not as it
was by one that sinned, so is the GIFT: for the judgment was by one
to condemnation, but the FREE GIFT is of many offences unto
justification.
17 For if by one
man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive
abundance of grace and of the GIFT of righteousness shall reign in
life by one, Jesus Christ.)
18 Therefore as
by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation;
even so by the righteousness of one the FREE GIFT came upon all men
unto justification of life.
19 For as by one
man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one
shall many be made righteous.
20 Moreover the
law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded,
grace did much more abound:
is salvation a
FREE GIFT like this passage says OR is it a "contract"
contingent on how much you endure????
the bible CANNOT
contradict itself.
Is your faith in
Jesus and the gospel, OR is your faith in YOURSELF to "endure"?
but atleast he preach the gospel of God.
it's the most important.
If you don't know the Gospel how can you preach it. We repent (turn to Jesus) for the remission (Blotting out, forgiveness, pardoning) of our sins is the Gospel. Turning and believing the Gospel of Jesus is what removes sins. We cannot be justified by the Law but by faith in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We are about 13 hours from you and tired of being cold from the volcanic ash 🥶. That ash sure does make some beautiful sunsets though! We are in the beautiful smoky mountains. :)
We would love to be further south for a better crop of fruit but we so love the mountains. Fresh air!
And I don’t care for hurricanes. Lol
My grandpa lives in Pensacola Fl and we have friends near Orlando and family in Jackson and Naples. The ones from Naples go to upper peninsula Michigan for fishing in the summer. And we have bad family in Clearwater Beach Florida. She’s an unbeliever and bitter in life. We pray for them all. Who knows maybe she will get tired of being bitter.
I’d say you are in the best place that there is, that is, except for the hurricane weather.
We seen a video of a wild forest of orange trees in Florida somewhere. They are growing wild with no care, and seemingly organic! We would love to have orange trees and banana trees. My husband is about a monkey when it comes to bananas! lol
We do have lemon trees though! And strawberries! We used to have blueberries and raspberries and blackberries.
Up north before we moved, we had mulberry trees and a full crop of the best raspberries! Yum!
We would love to have coconuts n dates.
We could have pecans but they get so big and we love being in the sun. Pecan trees are so huge that it’s just too much shade.
Do you grow a crop there?
We watch lots of videos on Florida crops. LOL We we’re thinking of moving there but we changed our minds.
