Hey everyone, long time no see... uh ? Life been moving pretty fast lately. I can't believe It's march already. As you guys probably noticed - I've been really busy these past few months. I'm directing 2 movies, one in post right now & the other preparing to film in april so let's say that is really time consuming. On the other hand, I've had a blast making this video, and It's been a long time since I haven't had this much fun editing. I believe this is they key for the next step of the channel, I'll always be making videos for you guys - but only when I have a blast doing so. It's sometimes stressful - to know you need to make content to stay relevant.
About The Last of Us, this story is definitely my favorite story ever, in any medias. I love the game so much. About the show, It was really weird sometimes to see it in live action after all this time, but I believe everyone did a really good job and I was truly happy to dive in that story again to craft this video for you all.

There is something about The Last Of Us that makes it feel so personal. There is this feeling that you cannot explain with mere words. It's a story about love, but also about humanity. And yet, there is something bigger than all of that. Our families. The ones we grow up with, the ones that teach us what's out there. Slyfer, as always, did a masterpiece in storytelling.
Does it feel like you’re reading someone’s diary? It feels so close to home somehow. Makes you forgive the worst acts bc you understand why.

Joel's "I do" response to Marlene saying they didn't have another choice, and then him lying directly Ellie's face, "I swear," yeah. That's what a parent does for their child. They protect them from anything---even if the child later thinks the parent is wrong, or should have told them in the truth. In the moment, the parent protects the child.
As they should 🙏🏼 When it comes down to it, every child deserves a parent that will choose them over everyone and everything else.

Ashley Johnson being Ellie's mom was such a great decision
I thought it was really inspired how you built up the montage of their pain to end on Sarah and then go straight into the moment of Joel comforting Ellie that cements their bond and shows what he lost has been restored. Such a great juxtaposition. Edits like that are why I'll always watch.

That side by side of Joel holding desperately to Sarah, knowing that she's gone but unable to let her go, and Joel holding Ellie, knowing that she's alive and refusing to let her go just perfectly encapsulates why he makes the decision he does in the end. The ending of the first season/game of The Last of Us is so horribly beautiful because it makes such perfect sense and yet is so hard to accept, and you showcased that so beautifully here! 💛
People who give Bella shit are blind, one of the best performances I’ve seen. No one could have played Ellie better than she did. Can’t wait for the next season! When you’re lost in the darkness look for the light.

I LOVED that you put those flashbacks of every character we lost as Ellie was killing David. Because it perfectly shows what Ellie's feeling, just letting it all out and fighting the world in this moment
With each blow is an act of vengeance for Sarah, Riley, her mother Anna, Tess, Bill, Frank, Sam, Henry, and her fear, and finally, her love for Joel

No other story has ever had such an emotional impact on me, like theirs did. And still does. It’s the best and worst feeling. I don’t think I will ever get over them and their story but I really wanna always remember the amount of unconditional love they carry for each other because that was the beauty in it. And because this amazing hbo series has done such a good job at honoring the game, and doing it justice, but that’s exactly what I’m afraid of now, for season 2. I don’t know how I will be able to go through that a second time.
I'm genuinely afraid of season 2. My heart won't fare well.

I didn’t think I could cry harder at Joel’s journey through the hospital to get Ellie. But your edits, with cuts to the scene where he lost Sarah, had me sobbing. Actual sobs. Amazing video.

4:00 is the thing that touched me the most out of every video i have seen from the last of us.. every time ellie hits its like its one for every single person she lost or the porpuse she feels she needs to fulfill to save the world so people she loves like tess sam riley or henry wont be lost again.. while trying to survive in this broken world.. incredible. just incredible.

It was really nice of them to have the original characters from the game be in the show I loved that

I first got into TLOU last summer thanks to a roommate of mine. I hated him cause he was a bad roommate, but he filled me in on the game while he played it and I became fascinated with it. When I found out they were releasing a series, I knew I had to watch it. TLOU has become one of my favorite things in such a short amount of time. This little tribute is amazing and is a perfect summary of the show. When Ellie realizes it's Joel, not David, who's got her, the look in her eyes makes me choke up every time. That's the look of a frightened little girl in need of nothing more than her dad. I may only be a young man who just graduated from college, but I already know I will be like Joel when I have a family. Like Joel, I'm more than willing to sacrifice the world for my future family's safety

Mr. Slyfer, thank you. I don't have the best grasp over the english vocabulary, I don't know all the words I need to describe how I feel, how you've made me feel. Many others, all of us, who've had the honor to experience and witness this story can say, have said all those things I want to say but better. When I was younger I used to feel sad that the characters and stories that have made me... Feel, aren't real. I've recently come to the realisation that they are. They may not be as alive as we want but they are, indeed, alive. They live in us, in our hearts. Good storytellers are undoubtedly high up on the list of impactful human beings.
You, Sir, are a good storyteller. I've seen quite a few of your works. All of them are a work of art. And this skill, this... Talent. Is not something that is learned. Sure, you learn how to harness it, how to channel it, how to... bring it to life, make it tangible. But it is not something that is acquired, it is something inert. It is a blessing that only a few have. Fewer still realise it. Fewer than those do something with it. I could go on and on. I have gone on quite a bit already so I'll save us all the trouble and stop my rambling. My point is, the one thing I do know quite well, that I've been taught well is gratitude.

4:07 to 4:25 totally made me heartbroken and it shattered to pieces, but being pieced back right afterwards with "baby girl." It touched my heart and soul the moment it came into the Look for the light part, and I think the music, By Starlight will definitely stuck in my head for the next few months! I wish and hope everything goes well for your movies and most importantly take care of yourself
As always, such a beautiful edit. Despite me not watching this show, or being interested in some of the content into which you formulate your videos around. I still watch them, not for the movie but because I know that the way you place scenes and clips together is truly spectacular. Makes a film I would not regularly watch look incredible. Just finished the show and then came to see this. I was waiting as to not spoiler myself. Holy crap does the Pedro Pascal impersonates well Joel being an emotionless murder machine when he goes back to get Ellie. That scene shocked me. I was mayby the one time in the entire show were I saw myself play the game all those years ago. It was brutal, calculated and methodical.

This video for Joel❤ and Ellie💖 is absolutely perfect! I love them both so much and The Last Of Us HBO show was the best show I've ever seen on HBO! They did a splendid job with adapting the video game to a television series and it's HBO's biggest hit in television history! I can't wait to see what HBO does with Season 2!🥰
