I played The Elder Scrolls Online on Game Pass. It has good quests, expands the lore to other provinces yet untouched by the main games and is quite fun. However, it does suffers from the fact that it is an MMORPG. I play the game as an singleplayer game, so the other players running around is annoying, the enemies respaw in like, less than a minute and are more blind than a Moth Priest, and to play in all of available Tamriel i need to buy all that DLCs. If the game was singleplayer or a less "Massive" online game it would be so much better.
ESO is really good if you treat it like a single-player Elder Scrolls game with a bunch of NPCs with advanced A.I. and weird outfits running around. Honestly, ESO has a VAST amount of content to explore, even in the base game without any expansions, IIRC that's either free to play or like 20$ max. You could easily spend 200-500 hours just doing quests and exploring, zero grinding, zero interaction with anyone else. That said, the RP community for ESO was pretty good back in the day but I know that's not everyone's cup of tea.
All eso has done is remove the likelihood of an elder scrolls elsewhere, black marsh etc it has black holed bathesdas talent.

You forgot about the fact that there’s so much retconning of Morrowind in Skyrim it’s almost like they’re in completely different IPs. Draugr, Nord culture, the layout of the province, as well as Solstheim itself.

@@DonMadruga72 Well, the only bit of Skyrim we see before TES5 is on Solstheim, a small island. Even then it still had really interesting stuff regarding witches, and the ambiguity of what deities are real or not with the existence of draugr, and lore that was established before the game made it far more unique than Skyrim ended up as.

i think ESOs expansions are some of the best content in the series. In the Morrowind one, you can find remnants of the Sixth House and also two twins who are descendants of Dagoth Ur- implying he fucked.
Yeah, and quests have better plot than Skyrim and Morrowind. I was positively surprised how enjoyable the single player content is in ESO.

Morrowinds combat mechanics are actually the best because they reinforce that tue game is an RPG and the Nerevar has to actually get good at a thing ib order to be good at a thing. Also stamina actually matters.
Daggerfall is a fantastic game and has fantastic mechanics if you run some mods to shine it up

Daggerfall is an actual immersive sim, something you don't really find nowadays. It's not really about better / worse, it's just a different genre of game. Comparing Daggerfall to later ES would be like comparing Warcraft 3 to League of Legends.

Just started morrowind. It's very cool, buuut I see the need to mod it. Would you consider introducing some essential mods for Morrowind?
I will make a Morrowind stream for a subscriber special
OpenMW at the minimum which is basically an upgrade to Morrowind's engine. Better bodies still holds up today in my opinion as a mod to upgrade Morrowinds bodies though there are other ones to choose from if you want to upgrade further from there. Later on after getting used to the base game a bit maybe Tamriel rebuilt which adds the rest of the province of Morrowind in a very lore friendly way. There are a ton of mods to work with to make the graphics a lot easier on the eyes.
Since you are new I will also recommend watching Hitchhiker's guild to Morrowind by JustRed czcams.com/video/Kr225HWLWcs/video.html She goes over a lot of things that might confuse new players in a way that explains things without going into the math like a lot of guides do. Has one for the magic system as well which explains how to use the magic system by school of magic czcams.com/video/Aww9gENmcKs/video.html .
Openmw, expansions delay, tamriel rebuilt, quest voice greetings (another great use of AI voice acting) and graphic herbalism are all essential in my eyes, then you can tweak the gameplay experience with smaller mods like running without fatigue or fair magicka regen

Morrowind was my first RPG. I beat that game and both expantions as a master wizard that also used 2h swords to 100. Got 1h swords to the 70s and died repeatedly trying to lvl the block skill.😂

Lord Dagoth this is Bethesda. We’re talking about of course that’s how they honor the sixth game and the gamers unmourned.
Its cute how people still complain about Morrowind's combat, maybe try using the appropriate weapon you invested your major skill in.
Or having an amount of fatigue above 25%, or not using the starting rusty iron dagger. And for how "weightless" the combat feels even with the ability to reliably land hits, it is a godly combat system compared to Oblivion with it's godawful blocking focused combat and infinitely scaling health pools.
When I'm in a first person fighting mode I expected my hits to actually register when dead aimed on something hitting it. The system was dumb I wish people would it admit it. I'm glad oblivion and Skyrim fixed it. Seriously it makes the game borderline unplayable unless you've got proficiency 100 on every weapon. I played Morrowind around when it came out too before you say I had to be there. The combat system sucked then too
@@Jestrath Its called using your imagination, when your character is at low proficiency and also getting low on stamina they're probably screwing up their attacks or that the enemy can read your attacks and dodges it but of course for an old game they couldn't implement all of that.
Thanks for not completely shitting on Oblivion. Regardless of it's flaws, it's a SOLID Elder Scrolls game with the best faction quests and side quests of any TES game.

I'm actually going to have to disagree with the notion of the combat system in Morrowind. It's straight forward with only a few alternative moves depending on movement. This is one fuck of a lot better than trying to be artsy fartsy with combat like Mordhau or Chivalry where the basics are next to impossible for new players to pick up, and the only thing that ends up happening to you is getting absolutely destroyed by some basement dwelling skooma addict farm tool who does nothing but play THIS game and only this game, forsaking all showers, social activity, and otherwise gainful employment.
It shouldn't be hard to stick some idiot with the pointy end. Even a child could do it (and they have). That being said, the spell crafting system of Morrowind is a gift to player's creativity where if your stats are high enough, you could create the "Dragon slave" magical nuke if you wanted. Let us not forget the enchantment system too. Morrowind did so much right that its not shocking to me at all that it became a commercial success. The only issue I've had with it is that Bethesda games have a nasty habit of giving you sudden, scenic views of your own desktop and Morrowind wasn't that stable when it first came out either. It's graphics aren't the only things aging like milk.
Morrowind is the greatest game of all time, . And I mean period.... In fact its not a game, its infinite lives to play that never feels like its repeating itself. Skyrim is laughable in comparison, and if you even mention Oblivion than thats whAT I WILL BRING YOU❗❗❗❕❕❕
