Season 5 Episode 5: On June 19, 1985, convicted bank robber Terry Conner and his partner-in-crime, Joseph Dougherty, escaped on their way to Dougherty's trial. In September, the fugitives used Conner's old m.o. to make the biggest bank robbery in Wisconsin history.

This show is so addicting 😂 I’m on day 5, I never knew this show was a thing. Literally has been the only thing I have watched these last days 🤷🏻♀️

The UK broadcasts had 4 different narrators , this episode was narrated by Stephen Kemble , Anthony Call narrated in the later series in the UK

That was my first thought, too. In Austria it's in an armored bus, 5 officers (2 driving, 3 in the back), suspects cuffed in the back, one car in front, one behind.

The way those two were transported and escaped was a disgrace. Police can be very smart at apprehending criminals and very stupid on how they transport them. I was a CO in the 80's and it would have been unheard of to transport a criminal in the rear seat of a car. They were cuffed, then put in a van or bus, which was basically a cage that they could not get out of, even if they got their cuffs off, they weren't going anywhere.

Even if they didn't have the resources to transport criminals, common sense wasn't common back then. All they had to do was let 3 officials travel with each criminal. One criminal and 3 officials to each car ...

I tried to rob a bank once but my plans were foiled! The ink pen was chained to the counter.
Real bank robbers start a Central Bank, buy up the media to get the politicians they want elected, and once it's in it is looting all the way until the Empire is dead. Trillions and trillions … the rank of these criminals is too high for the FBI. They even own the FBI ! That's why they mad at these little fish robbers. The loot comes out of their pockets. They stole it first. Yeah I thought, throw some education in here.

If you were going to remove the chained pen from the bank the crime would have been theft, not robbery. So many people do not know the difference between theft, robbery, and burglary. The news puppets get it wrong daily.

Terry Lee Conner is still in federal prison at age 79 serving his life sentence. Joseph William Dougherty died in federal prison in 2016, age 76.

In US the average time served for bank robbery is approx. 20 years, for murder approx. 7 years. In US money has three times the value of human life.....

With everything they went through to apprehend the robbers, I would've thought there'd be more agents involved in the transport.
Police can very flimsy at times. They were both transported in the same vehicle too. Incompetence at its finest. FBI did all the hard work only for the lazy ass police to throw it all away

They should’ve had a cage in their car along with the activated child safety lock. Not all cars have cages, but they should reconsider doing that for their own safety

Yes, no one was hurt physically. Now mentally or emotionally, that's another story.
The first couple coming home from thanksgiving dinner accosted in their driveway, held at gunpoint all night.
The second couple coming home with their TWO BABIES and see their home has been ransacked, and then to discover the robbers were STILL IN THE HOUSE. Then to make matters worse, the wife and children are taken hostage until the bank opens.
The bank employee sitting in the vault with a BOMB tied around his neck!!
The bank employees held hostage in the bank restroom, probably expecting to all be murdered.
I am darn grateful no one was shot.
Oftentimes mental and emotional trauma is detrimental to the future well being of victims and shouldn't be overlooked or down played.
I am sure they needed intense therapy and counseling thereafter.

I would have made them each hug the same tree, and use both sets of handcuffs to secure the marshals to each other, wrist to wrist so they are both stuck hugging the tree.
