I hope that Alabama is paying the Major's family compensation, their stupidity caused a lifelong trauma to a wife and three kids.
It’s not safe for an officer to chase two wanted suspects into a field alone but apparently it’s perfectly OK for one to transport three convicted felons in the same car alone.

But what’s worst is why the car didn’t even have a safety cage? There was this one case where these 2 Canadian fugitives where they escaped while stuck in traffic (In Hartford). In that case there were 2 officers but they didn’t get attacked because their car did have a cage.
Honestly this goes to show that no matter how short the car journey may be ALWAYS CUFF THE PRISONERS coz this whole thing could’ve been avoided and that man would be home with his children seeing them grow up🥺not placing blame on anyone at all coz that’s just disrespectful but at the same time that was an oversight on the police department☹️

Michael Wayne Thompson is still in a federal prison serving his life sentence. Roger Dale Yeadon (the slippery one) was released from federal prison in 2016 after serving approximately 17 years of a 22 year sentence. He was presumably sent back to Alabama to serve out his life sentence there but does not turn up in the State Inmate Search for whatever reason.
Also the deputy who was overpowered, Leland Chandler, just died on October 17 at the age of 88.

@@DaVeganZombie Actually it would've been easier to control the inmates from the front then the back. That's why in Britain they put the inmate up front BUT usually an extra officer in the back to keep an eye on the inmate during transport.

After watching several videos about criminals and the police and FBI,I conclude that most police officials are stupid by not cuffing their prisoners when escorting them. What a waste of time,money and energy recapturing these convicts because of the police's stupidity.
Yeadon was really smart about escaping but not about staying free. The FBI should ask his advice about securing prisons. Yeadon's biggest mistake was making a deal for 18 years (he'd have been out within 10 years), and then blowing it for life without parole... lol
Dude had 18 years behind bars. Could've gotten out max in 10 with good behavior, and who knows? Chances are he could've remarried his ex-girlfriend and lived happily ever after.
