You can use the hydrant as a way to get through warm areas without proper clothing. I went to the gerudo desert pretty early and used hydrants and splash fruit to survive the heat.
Sidons ability works too, just don't consume the shield, it also triggers the zora damage bonus you get when wet
@@Okomi874 I just held it with ultrahand facing me and walked.
@@EPadraigM that's pretty clever, I prefer sidons ability though cause you can sprint while using it

Do NOT underestimate the portable pot. I’ve been in situations where I’m desperate for a stamina boost and it saved my life 😂
I have a second version of my favorite ATV saved in autobuild just so I can spawn in a cooking pot on it for 3 zoanite.
@@LexYeen attach ab apple to it and yku can spawn just the pot in whenever yky want
The portable pot is the only thing keeping your from unnecessary deaths in the depths. You don’t get an effective way to combat the gloom until about halfway through the game, so your only option is a “sundelion”. You only need one per dish.
@Ridley Edgerton the typos on this make me want to cry, I'm literally shaking rn
also later in the game when you're messing with builds, the cooking pot is a handy ball and socket joint so you can use it to create some cool stuff that has a wobble to it
Hot Hydrant Tip! If you make a device with a hydrant spouting water onto a shock emitter, it'll turn the electricity into an AoE effect, increasing your effective range. You can also attach metal items like spear and mine carts in order to extend the range even further.
The yiga have been leaving metal spike panels in the depths. Just sayin'.
What does AoE mean?
@@Unnamed_Toast Area of Effect. It's a common term in gaming for when an ability affects multiple targets at once. Like how an arrow is single target, but a bomb arrow hits multiple enemies; making the shock emitter hit multiple enemies at once makes it much more potent, especially when its weakness is that it covers such a small area and can only hit one person.
@@normal6483 Oh okay thank you that makes sense
Another rocket tip: you can turn it off before it breaks. The total amount of time remaining before it breaks wont change but on those really large floating platforms ive been able to double the distance a single rocket can provide by using it twice.
Oh right on cause it keeps floating up by itself? makes sense
@@handohansolo8866they dont rise on their own they need something like rockets to rise them up
@@lunascarletsapphire5300 They mean that the stone will keep going because of the momentum. If you use the same rocket in 2 spurts, you will get higher
I found a shield with a spring on it early on and it worked really well defensively most enemies would drop their weapons and/or be staggered after hitting it once.
Do you get bounced up if you try to shield surf on it?
@@shartsmcginty8056yes
Same thing happens if you add something bouncy to a shield, like a Hylian Shroom.
Make extra long box (three planks long at least) enclose all sides but bottom. Attach constructor heads and Emitters to front and top of box at angles off to the side.
Stand inside box at far back and use Ultra hand to enter enemy and boss territory under cover.
Hit planks and destroy everything as bosses and enemies search in vain for the source of the carnage.
Profit.
frost emitter is so damn good. Ice is broken since there's like a 3x damage multiplier for hitting frozen enemies
And then you headshot a frozen enemy with an arrow fused to a gibdo bone, BEEG damage
@@Pigeon_loll with a 5 shot lynel bow
@@SLIN2010 goodbye silver boss (hinox or boko boss)
even better, fuse the gleeok frost horn to a royal broadsword, then flurry rush an enemy that can be frozen
the sword provides a flurry attack up buff thingy,
and the gleeok frost horn never loses its frost, so it doesn't need to be recharged
BEEEEEEG damage
Slow antigrav platform + balloon lets you reach any height you want, slow and steady. Just stand and wait for your battery to recharge. It makes all locations accessible right at the start.
The balloons timeout after a while like the wing
@@ecereto I've never had the wing timeout but that's good to know it does
It's even better if you get auto-build and save it as a template.
Alternatively, you can glue a torch above your flame emitter, so that when you run out of battery, the balloon doesn't fall. Also, I think those platforms use battery and will eventually deteriorate too.
@@ecereto Everything times out eventually. Even the giant metal antigrav boxes. They'll just blink green and then "poof".
You can buy the big battery in crystal refineries for 30 crystallized charges once you fully upgrade your energy cell to 45 energy wells.
The Flux constructs also drop them
I find the battery kinda useless when you have a fully upgraded battery and have the zonai armor
@@ssjcookie5498 same, and not to mention your battery regen rate is increased a lot at max. And batteries kinda ruin your vehicle’s weight distribution so I just never put them on my hoverbikes.
@@Gon.Freecss Aren’t those zonai charges.
@@Verzatixthey are mainly got completely broken end game builds 😂
A tip for the balloon is if your using a flame emitter put a torch slanted under the balloon as well so that the emitter lights the torch and when the emitter stops you don’t fall.
I only use a little firewood to be able to use the balloon, without even spending battery at some point and the firewood is not even consumed that I have seen
Hydrant shield is great vs fire enemies and getting through the sludge.
It is also OP against the sludge boss.
Mineru with double hydrants was super helpful against the sludge boss underground.
The emitter type constructs work wonders when fused with the boomerang melees making it an AoE elemental attack.
If you combine a hydrant with a shock emitter so that the water hits the horn, you extend the range of the electricity and basically make a tesla coil that zaps everything in radius. I believe momentum also increases the damage the water from the hydrant does, so if you set that onto a big wheel on a stake and let it spin, it can be a pretty deadly force. Just don't get too close and zap yourself.
I think the robot mech with the laser and cannon used the "Cart" Zonai device for the body and shield
EDIT: I made a mistake, it was the "Sled" not the "Cart" that was used for the Robot with the laser and cannon
The mirror can also be used as crosshairs for aiming your cannon's if you're not using Construct Heads. In the depths, you'll need to add a light on your vehicle as well for it to work properly.
Oooooo that’s actually a great idea., you have a video in orwwcyuce?
thanks for sharing all the dispenser locations at the end of the vid, super useful
I'm wondering if the mirror could be used to reflect the lasers from the laser emitter.
Just tried, it would be cool but doesn't work (at least in 1.1.1).
Mirrors only reflect natural light or light sources meant to be reflected. I think it's to prevent someone just fusing a Zonai Light to a Mirror and cheesing through all the mirror puzzles. Only exception is the Dazzlefruit, but it's too brief to light up a light panel, and if meant for stunning, it's easier to just use the Dazzlefruit as intended.
In the Eldin region of The Depths you can get a Schema stone to make the Automated Ally, it's the killer robot design with a flame emitter on it. And at least once I made one with a cannon on it, lifted it onto the deck of a pirate ship, then activated it and let it go. The chaos was glorious.
Use a rocket to put the floating platform in the air, then attach lasers and cannons and the enemy lock and you have yourself a drone strike for bosses
I was wondering if that actually works. Lmao
@Robert Gomez it absolutely does. 5 of them will ruin a king gleeok in under 10 seconds flat.
Don't judge me, you thought it too, I just did it.
@@Elite02kdo you just use another device to airlift it over, or waste a lot of zonite to spawn it
I LOVE the creativity you can use with this, by far the game of the decade. I’ve made some quite fun contrapsions myself but one of them, the wing attached with a steering stick 2-3 fans and a cart was what i thought my own invension, until i went to one of those yiga clan outposts and saw one. I also made a cart with a fan steering stick beam emitter (or flame emitter) and a korok forever tortureing it
Stake + head + cannon/laser seems like a very simple way to make turrets to take out bosses.
Or:
Smart tracks + head + emitter/laser/cannon is also good because it can move independently, making moving enemies easier
I appreciate ur video! Clear & concise w/ helpful time stamps. Easy to follow. You’re an effective communicator!👍🏼
hydrant boomerang is really good at spreading water everywhere fast, trivialized the water temple and its boss will prob be good just at good for making lava platforms too
The sea breeze boomerang would probably be best to use with it since you can get a new one with just 100 poes
Finna pull up to Ganon in a tiger 2
One thing that I use the Balloon for is to gain height on a kind of Wing accessory, and the way I make it is below:
1: Sled Base (aimed forward)
2: 1 Steering Stick (in the middle of the Sled, aimed to the front of the Sled)
2: 2 Fans (one front center and back center. Have the wind go straight to the back of the sled with no angle)
3: 4 Batteries (two sets of one on top of the other, positioned on the middle space to the left and right on sled rim)
4: 2 Balloons (one positioned on top of each fan)
5: 2 Fire Emitters (one in each Balloon Basket Aimed straight upwards)
6: 1 Wing (Position the center of the Sled bottom on top of the Wing bottom)
If you finished all of the steps, then you can get in and start flying. The Wing is there so that you are able to stop using your battery (on your waist) and recharge them. The Wing will run out of time, but you are able to keep on going for about another 30 seconds before the Balloons run out as well, and if you did not make it far enough then you can jump off the falling Sled, paraglide until you have half a wheel of stamina left, attach a Hover Stone to an arrow, fire it below you, land on that (to recharge your stamina) and paraglide the rest of the way.
I do not know how to upload a video from my switch as a comment, but this device could go into another video like this one
thank u bro!! helped a lot!!!
Thanks so much!
Thank you I’ve been looking for this everywhere😅
On the topic of fusing things to other things, have you ever tried fusing a Fire or Ice Lizalfos Tail to a Giant Boomerang? It becomes a massive stunning area control when you throw it.
Thanks!
such a helpful video. good man.
Just a quick protip: if you use ultra hand it drains the battery faster than normal, this also applies to the portable batteries
Super awesome video.
Thanks I need this video for my game 😊
Thank you
construct head and stabilizer seem like the keys to more advanced builds. Construct heads can give you moving arms if used right
You can buy the Big Battery from any Forge Constructs after you've completely upgraded Link's battery.
I did, but I still cant buy them, bruh I just wasted 12 hours of grinding trying to get it
@@cuy8541 You need to find one in capusle form before you can buy them.
Holy :O I know there were some of them but not as much as they are :O ty for this guide.
If you hold the hydrant, you can create a platform over lava, jump onto the platform while still holding it, pour and repeat, and you've created a bridge!
You can use cooking pots for suspension for the small wheel, a way to stabilize the steering stick only with stabilizers, and they're AMAZING for hammer based weapons!
as far as the light goes i find that it is much more effective to throw a giant lightseed thing anywhere on a vehicle (especially for the depths) much easier to explore and if you fall off your flying vehicle its much easier to find *as long as it doesnt land in water
Plus it doesn't add extra energy drain to the running costs!
I learned in the vehicle mastery shrine that you need to be careful with where you place construct heads on a vehicle. Unless Nintendo patches it at some point they have no problem with aiming through the player to shoot enemies.
Bruh yeah it's so annoying whenever I try to use them my vehicle ends up shooting itself lmao
If you shield surf with a bomb fused to a shield. Link will get safely launched about 25-30 feet in the air. It's great for a headstart in climbing walls
You can find a big battery in the Ikatak Shrine near the Gisa Crater in the Tabantha region, south of Rito Village, it is a blessing shrine so no puzzle but you need to get a crystal to open it which can be found inside of Gisa Crater guarded by 2 Ice Like Likes, and that is where I found my first big battery, also once you have upgraded your Energy Cell to the max you can buy any zonai devices you’ve found requiring crystalized charges to buy so they’re not entirely useless once you’ve maxed out your Energy Cell
Where do you buy the devices at?
Ty
@@carvedmoth4779 it's near recall shrine, but u need max 2 rows of battery's first
this video helped alot, i cant play alot rn maby a hr or 2 af that a day.. main thing iv been doing is unlocking all towers and building stuff, was missing a bunch and this vid helped alot.. now that i have everything unlocked, and a lil item duping ;] i now have a unlimited supply to just f**k around a build with. been having so much fun with this game
You can use the glider in the air reliably. Glide while stationary and use a glider, then while cancelling out of the menu hold up to glide over and drop onto it.
The Hydrant can also be turned into a pretty good hammer after you're done with it otherwise. It's nothing super fancy, but it's better than a rock.
Thanks for the vid! :D
It is totally possible to build a giant enemy seeking mech that has a giant flame spitting “member”. It’s also possible to build flying laser drones that do incredible damage. You can take on lynels and hinox easily with this. Always carry one fused rocket shield on you when battling koga and you’ll be fine. Nintendos own “tips and tricks” says to “unlearn what you have learned” and this is valuable. Many times it is possible to engage enemies without ever drawing your sword. Arrows are plentiful now. Altitude and inertia are your friends now.
Stick a construct head on a hover stone, and attach your choice of emitter to the construct head. Now flip it over with Ultrahand and move it into position, and then hold L to change to Recall _without_ stopping Ultrahand. Hit the hover stone with Recall, shoot it with an arrow, then immediately tap L to end Recall. Enjoy your fully armed and operational battle station. Excellent for chokepoints, especially with a frost emitter.
I saw an unrecognisable “Zonai” device in Rasiwak Shrine (Northeast Akkala) called a float, and it’s really cool. I don’t think it’s actually considered a device as that’s the only area I’ve seen it in, but the concept was good enough that I would’ve realistically liked to see it in a device dispenser.
Maybe u can use it with an autobuild
for the Balloon, any source of fire will make them go up, if you stick a torch under one and light it you have free height.
Big batteries aren't Found in Dispensers only in chests. you can get more after you've maxed out your energy cells though as once you have max battery the Crystal Refineries will let you trade Charges for Zonai devices of your choice including the big battery.
If you want to save on Zonai charge at the cost of height, you can nab one of the candle stands from the Shrines (you can't use Autobuild in a Shrine, but what you make in there still gets added to Autobuild's history) for a way to ascend in a Balloon that doesn't need Zonai charge at all at the cost of less height (nor does it require wood and flint).
For the balloon on any platform base🎈, put wood use a fire arrow or use a torch and place a fan on the back that way when you get to a certain height you can activate the fan and with a steering wheel more controll but not need if your just going in a straight line.
i used the homing cart to help with the water temple boss by putting a couple water shooters on it to help clean up the gunk.
I’m pretty sure big batteries are a rare version of the normal one so you can get a big battery form a dispenser that gives regular batteries but it’s a small chance
I love how the spring happened to be at a dispenser I was already at, and it's the single one I didn't get in my only roll since I was limited on charges
For the Shock Emitter, you can slap a Hydrant on top to electrify the water and increase the shock range.
Hydrant and shock emitter for a crazy good time. Aldo install puts out fire elemental enemies
I recently attached a sled to a shield for longer Shield surfing, so the skateboard is next; you also showed me how to make a proper hot-air balloon so I thank you for that. A torch attached to it should be sufficient to ascend the castle without needing much (if any) energy to do so; I should also try attaching a wing to a shield to see what that can do.
Wing plus shield equals higher shield surf jump
Big Battery is a rare drop from battery machines that is how I got mine also dont use it in autobuild building as it cost 100 zonite just for the battery.
So basically any dispenser with regular batteries has a small chance of giving a big battery instead?
I noticed that (aside from Rocket and Batteries that are consumable) only the Glider and Balloons seem to have a timer, as the popular Fan x2 + Steering Stick just seems to exist permanently as long as it doesn't despawn due to distance (which is solved with a dragon material to give it 2000m of range, or if you don't have one, a Brightbloom of any size thrown directly onto it for a range of 610m)
You can actually get a big battery as a rare drop from flux constructs; i got 1 from the flux 3 on the necluda sky archipelago however it is quite rare
The portable pot also acts like a ball and socket joint. It can act as suspension for off-road vehicles.
Really wish that putting the construct head on a steering stick would autopilot your vehicles. Even if it only flew them towards enemies, it'd still be so cool
Mirror+shield=❤
Yeah the cooking pot is nice, have accumulated aleast 50 in my play so far and when I'm low on food or anything I need throw 4 5 down and just cook it easy
You can buy big batteries with crystallized charges from steward constructs in battery forges after maxing out your batteries
I can't wait to make an army of robots and take over Hyrule
That is the gardian all over again...
So basically in this game we are mc Gyver. I love it.
honestly, I cant wait for someone to make an absolutely insane war machine with a couple of homing carts, some construct heads. and a ton of all the emitters, lasers. and cannons.
i've seen someone use the hoverstone to make an orbital laser
Hydrant tip! Place it on a homing cart and it will make the Mucktorok and Sludge Like bosses much easier
Batteries are great when you want a multi-part construct, as the battery disappears, so if it's the only attachment point for some parts, anything only attached to the battery will also fall off.
Can we just take a moment to appreciate the skyward sword ost on the bg. Fricking majestic
The light shield is seriously OP as it blinds your enemies and they are too busy holding their eyes for them to notice you coming over to whack them.
Something I have personally found to be surprisingly fun fuse homing cart onto a sheild and than sheild surf (this will consume durability surprisingly fast is a major downside) and you will zip around with surprising speed even on mostly flat areas. Also it won't begin auto chasing enemies durring this
9:34 stakes makes a musical chime when hit with a beam emitter
the mirror can be user to stun certain enemies like the Gibdos or maybe the Gloom hands
Portable Pot is one-use, but because it doesn't use a standard flame, you can use it in the rain. The more popular use for it is on wheels to serve as surprisingly good suspension.
The same goes for Electric Lizalfos tails if they exist because I’ve killed a lot but they haven’t dropped any.
Some Zonai Device Fuse combinations worth trying:
Cannon + Shield: This is already pretty good, but if you shield jump from a high place in a low gravity area, Link essentially becomes a gliding arial bomber because the Cannon activates mid jump. Other projectile shooters work the same way, the Cannon is the most impressive though.
Mirror + Shield: They say that Fire and Lightning are the best weapons against Gibdos, but by far the most effective weapon is light, which when concentrated with a Mirror, will mow down hordes of Gibdos in seconds. This is especially useful in the Lightning Temple Boss Fight.
Wing + Shield: You may have overlooked this one, but shield jumping with a Wing attached to your shield will give you enough height to enter Bullet Time on flat ground, which is very powerful.
Boomerang (Preferably a Giant one) + Any Emitter: The area control you get with an Emitter Boomerang is crazy, but it doesn’t do as much damage as the aforementioned Lizalfos Tail Boomerang. Unless you’re using the Laser Emitter, in which case you’ll be hitting practically everything in sight, likely including yourself. A good way to counter it is using a shield to block the lasers so you can catch it safely.
Also, has anyone tried fusing a Stabilizer to their weapons, arrows, or shields? I think that’s definitely worth testing.
With the hydrant try using it with a construct head to aim and a shock emitter to do massive damage
I think I'd be a cool feature if when frost flame or shock emitters are used on chu-chus that they would turn into that type of chu-chu
2:49 A trick I worked out (That works with only the base one battery) is if you put wood above the fire (and a touch would also help) you can keep the hot air balloon in the air long enough to get the battery to refill and be usable again. When I did it it made the balloon either not fall or fall very slowly while waiting for my battery to recharge.
The homing cart is sort of like the bomchus, making it possible to chase enemies down.
The homing cart can be used to shield surf. It seems to be pretty much the absolute best method of shield surfing, but I THINK surfing on a homing cart rapidly drains the shield's durability? I need to test it more. But basically when you shield surf on it, you have full blown thrust as if on a vehicle - fastest shield by far, it can even move on flat ground very quickly. It still can't go up hill, though.
Edit: Tested. Homing carts -DO- 100% drain shield durability faster. Much faster. I was also incorrect about them being able to move on flat land; carts actually better in that regard. How ever, they DO reach a much higher top speed going down hill. So over all not worth it, but has some potential use for raw short bursts of speed.
Don't use lights use large glow seeds
Place Hydrant on ground. Get out Zora Spear with wet attribute. Activate hydrant.
You can use the hydrant for a constant water boost for zora weapons
you can buy zonai devices at 3 crystallized charges (9 zonaite) each at crystal refineries, but you have to have 8 blue batteries
also you can get big batteries, but they cost 30 crystallized charges
U can use the mirror for legs example:u can use mirrors on motorcycles as legs to hold them still
There is a super simple build witch is just two fans on an angle and a controller on top which creates a flying device you can add battery’s too
I kinda hoped that the cooking pot would be usable as a heat-source for the hot air balloon, but it looks like it goes out as soon as you attach a balloon to it.
I was planning on making the Mark V tank used in World War 1
If we DLC for this game Nintendo _needs_ to lean into this system and give us new reactionary control/logic type devices.
Example a set switches with a Red, Green, and Blue buttons and corresponding activator platforms. If they want to get really fancy then the could have Yellow, Cyan, Violet and White activators that require multiple inputs to activate. I could see the switches being styled after the crystal switch found in LttP's dungeons.
The portable pot can also be used as a kind of suspension if you attach it to a wheel!
You can get a big battery in a chest on top of the shrine on the ground level of the riot labyrinth
as anyone try every emeter on the balloon like the frost emiter on the balloon also lithning is energy so could we do infinit energy with the shock emiter ?
You can buy specific devices from crystallised charge refineries after you max your battery.
