- As requested another test of the 10.25inch digital instrument cluster of the VW Group. This time however with the Skoda Kodiaq RS. We will walk you through the system itself, show you the specifics of the Kodiaq RS and give you our personal opinion on the system also compared to the 12.3inch virtual cockpit.

Thanks for the video! I'd like to know if you can see easily the average speed, average consumption, total distance, etc of a trip (for instance a holiday trip) and the average speed, consumption and distance of the partial distance you are driving at the moment in this trip.

There is a question, in the digital dashboard eyes get tired? On your video, I see how the screen flickers.
Eyes are fine. At least for the longest drive we did, that was about five hours

No it‘s not, even not with the new 3rd gen :(

How did you get the actual Kodiaq RS in the welcome screen. In my Kodiaq RS, a regular white Kodiaq is shown.
that seems to be a bug. Needs to be the Kodiaq RS, otherwise I would ask your dealership for help
Could you tell if the navigation on the lower/bigger screen is set to “google view” by skoda connect than whether the dash behind the steering shows the “google like” view as well? Thanks!
The "Google Earth" View I think is what you are looking for, no that's ONLY available in the AUDI models. Not event VW Models got that.
No. It does not. Virtual cockpit only supports the cars inbuilt navigation.
Hi, thanks for the review - I have a question specifically regarding the Skoda Kamiq virtual cockpit: does the virtual cockpit display Google Maps or can this only be displayed on the other screen located in the centre of the dashboard? Thank you in advance for your answer.
only the major infotainment screen may display google Maps.

Is the Skoda Kodiaq RS using 12.3 inch or 10.25 inch? The Skoda website mentions that it is using 12.3 inch.

Is there any way to set or make google maps to be projected into the virtual cockpit? And not just the ones that are loaded in the car on the SD card. Thank you
Not yet. Maybe some time in the future. So far only the high end BMW and Mercedes Models can display Android Auto and therefore Google Maps in the head unit. However there are some cars that feature Android as their main OS, so the XC40 oder Polestar2 have Google Maps :)
Did you have any issues with it driving at night? I know these panels can be very bright and blinding sometimes, especially on dark roads. Does it have a dim/brighten feature?
It was fine, you may adjust it a little bit yourself. But most of the adjustment comes from the system itself

how do you change the type of average consumption? For example from "long term" to "since start" ?

Hello, I have a question about the cockpit setup. In your video you have to see the alarm where the average consumption since refueling is displayed. In my car it shows the average long term consumption. How can I reconfigure it to also show from fill up or from start? Thank you for your advice. Tom.
That should be display by a long press of "OK"
@@Autophorie Sorry to keep bothering you, but no matter how long I pressed the right wheel, the view stayed the same. :( it still only shows long term consumption and nothing else.
@@tomklema1160 that's weird. Sadly I'm not sure what is wrong there, but I guess you will need to get that fixed in the garage :(
Excellent description - helped me decide not to go for Digital cockpit. And yes, it is embarrasing being a Brit who speaks just one language when most of Europe are multilingual. Danke. ( one of my three German words ).

Hello i got new škoda scala 24 and i am wondering what exactly in virtual cockpit do acceleration icon do. To me it looks like static image of car with two green lines on sides. Did you figured it out? What it is for and if it is usable in some situation?

Wisst ihr, in welchem Modellen bei VAG welches Display verbaut ist? Im Tiguan/Passat wird ja mit dem Modelljahreswechsel jetzt das Active Info Display Generation II verbaut. Ist das das, was wir hier auch im Kodiaq sehen und somit kleiner als das Active Info Display Generation I?
Bei VW sind wir doch raus ;)
Einfacher Blick auf die Seite hilft. Ist die tankanzeige in Kunststoff gehüllt ist es das hier, ist alles drum herum digital ist es die 12.3 Variante aus dem TT

no you can't. Only the skoda Navigation is displayed

Nope, it does not in this version. However not sure, if Skoda oder VW is working on that for the future

Officially no, but there are videos that show that it is possible
No VAG vehicles do Google Maps anymore. They only offered it for a few model years before dropping it.
Endlich einer der "Škoda" (Š=Sch) sagt und nicht wie die meisten fälschlicherweise "Skoda". :)
Finde es nicht so schlimm dass die Leite „Skoda“ sagen. Andere Nationen sagen ja zB auch „Wolgswagen“ oder „Mörcäidis“.
Škoda ist ganz einfach immer "Schkoda":-)
Ist es beim Skoda auch so, dass die Navigation entweder in groß auf dem Virtual Cockpit oder auf dem Navi Screen angezeigt werden kann und nicht beides gleichzeitig?
Eigentlich ging beides gleichzeitig, aber wir können nochmal beim Tarraco nachschauen :)

@@Je0815 Beim Seat Leon (von dort kommst du vielleicht) ist es so, dass es zwei Infotainment Systeme gibt, die völlig gleich aussehen und die gleiche Größe haben. Das "kleine" (schlechtere) ist das Media System Plus, für das man noch zusätzlich das Navi dazu buchen muss. Das "Große" ist das Navigationssystem Plus (erkennbar an 3D Gebäuden auf der Karte). Beim Kleinen ist es tatsächlich so, dass man nur auf einem Bildschirm die Karte anzeigen lassen kann. Beim Großen geht's auf Wunsch auf beiden Bildschirmen.
Sehe ich das richtig, das man sich öltemperatur nicht weiter anzeigen lassen kann, wenn man keinen RS hat? Also bei der klassischen Version...!?
Gibt's dann glaube nicht, aber ohne Garantie

My Octavia RS virtual cockpit always goes back to Classic Display (2 dials left and right) when the car starts up. It does not remain in the other displays (Advanced, Modern, Basic and Sporty) when they are chosen. Anyone knows how to fix this?

Its a shame really the GUI is very cluttered and in minimalist view helps a lot though, but then why have a virtual cockpit at all if you are going to do that.

I have just got a new skoda Kodiaq and after watching this video I still don’t know how you got to change the cockpit view your English is very good but with no real instructions how you have change the cockpit
They may have changed it how to change over the past years. Either click the view change button or look up the gauge cluster settings in the infotainment
You blink your eyes once and you have a different screen. After all, the time to conjure up another screen is not a competition. If you think this is an issue, then life is quite difficult if you have to wait for something.
You can of course not like something, but a millisecond to switch a screen or to zoom in and out of a card is not the issue.
Your review is too focused on what you think.

@@Autophorie Machst Du das Selbe auch noch mal auf deutsch? Ich kann dich zwar gut verstehen, finde es aber ziemlich lästig, wenn sich Deutsche auf englisch unterhalten.
Die Kollegen von Autogefühl machen das ja schon eine Weile um sich beim internationalen Markt anzubiedern. Videos auf englisch gibt es mehr als genug.
Ich persönlich war beruflich jahrelang gezwungen mich mit Englisch auseinandersetzen. Privat benutze ich es nur, wenn ich im Ausland unterwegs bin.
Es sei denn es gibt nun nochmal bedarf das Ganze noch ein drittes Mal zu sehen? Können es höchstens nochmal mit einem Seat machen. Sieht aber genauso aus wie schon auf deutsch gezeigt :)

Die beiden roten Markierungen sind 30 und 50. Diese sind rot hervorgehoben, weil das oft genutzte Geschwindigkeitsbegrenzungen sind. 40 und 60 sind genau da, wo sie zu sehen sind, dazwischen.

Vielleicht könntest du der Politpfeife Öttinger anbieten bei dir Englisch zu lernen. Dann bräuchte man sich nicht immer schämen wenn er versucht Interviews in (D)Englischer Sprache zu führen.
