Replace Crackling Macbook Pro Speakers for Crisp Sound - DIY Apple Laptop Fix | How To

The speakers on my Macbook Pro M1 (2021 Model A2485) began crackling and scratching very badly and frequently. They sounded horrible. After purchasing new speakers (see link below), I replaced the broken speakers myself. Disassembly included cover removal, disconnection of ribbon cables, removal of the main circuit board, and prying out the old speakers. The new left and right speakers plugged right into the laptop, and fortunately the laptop still works after assembly. Most importantly, the new speakers no longer crack. Audio is now crisp and clean.

No before and after sound test, and you left that old semi-working black goo to hold your new set of speakers, when a new adhesive is like a dollar or two..
Working on Apple products is never fun, so if you're already tearing that thing apart - why not do it all the way so you're less likely to have to deal with a dangling speaker in a year from now?
