I’m a cis female but also a mother of grown boys, grandmother, friend, boss, and nurse. I love your videos! I’ve been watching for several years and have had numerous occasions with my kids, their friends, employees and patients where your information and knowledge I’ve learned from your videos have made me more prepared to be supportive and have appropriate conversations with people. As someone from the Midwest that has had little to know personal experience with gender and sexual orientation different than my own, some of the initial awkwardness comes simply from my own lack of knowledge. Turns out I know many people who identify differently than I do. By increasing my knowledge i have been able to be much more supportive and accepting. This has provided so many opportunities for conversations that would have never happened otherwise. Thank you!

Turns out the only opener to a better conversation is being able to use terms appropriately. Just taking the time to learn and showing interest has made a huge difference. And understanding this has helped me in coaching other nurses, supervisors and parents to learn about topics outside of their comfort zones. I can’t experience it all in life but I can and do support each individual person in my life to be their best self. I tell people about your channel and your book every chance I get. 😍
That didn’t sound right. I just mean that we all understand each other by taking the time to actually understand each other. Our world isn’t always a safe place to share your true self. It is definitely easier to share yourself with someone that has taken the time to learn about a topic. At least I feel that way about the parts of myself I don’t readily share with just anyone.
@@triciadenson239 Yes, the right terms help in talking about a subject, and make people more comfortable talking, so the conversation gets better. It would be uncomfortable to explain every term first, like in writing an essey or talking to a child. Especially as a professional, authority or parent, it shows your respect for the other person and gives you accountability.
I remember watching this a kind of long time ago and was being like “oh this is cool, glad people have found ways to make trans guys comfortable”

For transfeminine maybe a stuffing vid or a tucking vid cause this are something's that I struggle with
RebelRose I would suggest searching CZcams for it cause I know there are videos already out there (so you wouldn’t have to wait until Ash makes a video on it to get advice). Plus, it’d probably be better to get advice from someone who’s anatomy matches yours because it’s easier all around. Like, I know how to tuck and a few different methods, BUT I’m a cis female so I don’t know any of that from experience only what people have told me. So because of that, I (or other people in the same situation) might not be the best people to have explain it.
