So when my son was two, he loved his sisters dresses and her doll. I didn't think he was gay at two, just had great taste in clothes 😂. Why fight with a small child who's happy and having fun, just because society tells me I am a bad mom. Yes, I was told I was a bad parent because I let him wear girls clothes. I had a whole closet full of boy clothes, but he didn't like it at the time. He stopped by school age and didn't remember when he got older, but we had pictures.
He's 27 now and straight, but loves his pictures from that time.
I love that so much! When I was little, 4-5ish, I wore pink skirts and pink cowgirl boots. My nickname even was boots through kindergarten. For some dumb reason I started getting teased for it, so I hated the color pink for a long time. It wasn’t until high school that I started wearing it again.
You’d think, as a girl, I wouldn’t get bullied for something so ridiculously simple, but people are just weird.

Oof. As someone who was brought up in a conservative, religious, heteronormative household, I can tell you that it's not based in logic at all. It's all about trying to uphold what they believe is the "normal, righteous" way of life perfectly aligned with God. Anything not-straight was incredibly, stomach-churningly threatening to that worldview. It was based in pure fear and ignorance.

I just want to say thank you for the “Not All Christians Hate The LGBT+ Community” PSA because my parents are both pastors and quite involved in their faith, but they are still some of the most supportive people of my transgender-ness that I know and they believe that God loves everyone no matter what (and that God is both male and female and neither as they’ve told me for as long as I can remember, but that’s just a cool thing that has little to no relevance in this comment), so keep being yourselves, you valid human beings!
Also, I don’t know where I stand in the religion department. Also-also, my parents are 57 and 59 (the latter to be 60 on ace pride day in June), so it’s fantastic that they’re so open minded!
