Now, I've never been in a situation with homophobic parents or been around irrational homophobia for an elongated period of time due to the area I grew up in but I try to address the situation from my small bubble.

My parents didn't even know abt homosexuality properly- I was the one who explained it to them and they are fully educated adults and when I try to further talk about it with them they avoid it saying I don't wanna hear about such things. It's like it's a taboo topic for them- like just now I was telling my mom about the JK Rowling- Dumbledore gay memes becuz well the memes are funny and she looked visibly uncomfortable and in the end asked me to stop. Storytime of when I was a child and was in church:
I was living life and was wearing a Bi-sweatshirt because I liked it and didn't know what it meant. Apparently the day I was sick and had to stay home they talked about how bad being gay or being in the lgbtq+ community was and they convinced everybody (even my best friend who *was* gay) soo...I got dirty looks and angry expressions like..they looked like the angry emoji tbh. Long story short I got yelled at for going against the Bible and I lost my best friend. It's been years and I am a proud bi FTM.
This is why rebelling against your parents and being who you are is important. I'm glad that my parents are not homophobic, my mom feels some type of way abt it but she still loves me.
If my parents were homophobic tho you better BELIEVE I would have told them "fuck you you dont run my life" and continue to be the bi ass bitch that I am.
I have had a similar experience but luckily I managed to get my bestfriend back and let her move in with me,now we are a happy couple of 4 years :)

Almost a year ago, I met a guy, this guy was the first person that ever made me feel real happiness for the first time in years. After a week of certain situations I was no longer in visual contact with him, and I had to communicate with him through a mutual friend(because for whatever reason my phone wouldn’t let me text or call his number). Then this friend got his phone takin away from him, and he hasn’t gotten it back yet(it’s been almost a year). Last I heard, this “special” guys parents found out that he’s bisexual, and they drove to the edge of suicide... again, and now I just wish I could show him this video, so he knows that there is hope. But sadly I don’t even know if he’s still alive.

The Biblical Greek comes later in about the New Testament, and that one was perhaps about Pederasty/Pedophilia. It's actually highly debated and some linguists argue that it's actually about male prostitution, those who are prostitutes and those who engage in the act with them; they will both supposedly go to Hell.

The one in the Old Testament about laying with each other is actually correctly translated for the most part and many Christian sects debate over if it should be upheld or not. Jews should still believe it, but Christians don't have to, just like Christians don't have to stop eating shellfish or mixing clothing fabrics, etc. anymore; because Jesus died for our sins and it was mostly to distinguish Jews from Pagans. :))

Her parents are extreme Christians and believe its wrong, so she hasn't told them yet. We suffer together.

The bible was miss translated it actually says man shall not sleep with boy. Also love is not a choice either like psycholohicaly you can't choose who you love. When some meets some or all the standards set in your brain even without you knowing what those standards are a chemical reaction starts causing you to fall in love.
