    I just had to comment because it's so sweet... My 20yr old son is visiting and had borrowed my phone and was on my CZcams(so he doesn't have to watch ads) anyway, he gave it back just now on this video. His girlfriend is 9 weeks pregnant so he is watching to educate himself😊 I am such a proud mama that I raised a son that cares so much to know what is going on and what he can do and what's normal and not. Thank God I didn't raise a man with no compassion. This gives me hope for my grandchild at having the best chance of being able to navigate life for the future in this nasty nasty 🌎 world!

      @NekoArts Před 4 měsíci +1

      Can I borrow your son for a few days? My husband is unfortunately one of those guys who is less than caring and supportive (I'm 17 weeks along) so I've been feeling very lonely during my pregnancy so far (doesn't help that I've had a very rough pregnancy so far either). Good job on raising such a good man, his girlfriend (and their future child) is very lucky.

      @@NekoArts Don’t let yourself be treated like that by anybody! I truly hope you tell him this is not okay and if he wants to keep you in his life he should act right now.
      I know this wont make a difference, and although it may be scary to even think about, if he continues treating you like this, moving on will allow somebody out there for you to love you and your baby and treat you with the respect you compassion you deserve.

    I love my U shaped pregnancy pillow. I would stay on my left side the entire night but it’s my left hip that starts aching through the night from my weight being on it. At that point I switch to my right for the rest of the night or early morning. Otherwise no aches or pains.

    I have never been a back sleeper yet during pregnancy I constantly roll onto my back while asleep even though it absolutely kills when I wake up!? If I lay on my back during the day it hurts immediately so I don’t understand. I’ll try your pillow techniques. This video explained why my kidneys feel achy in the morning too. I know I need to stop myself from rolling it’s just so weird that my asleep pregnant body’s instinct is to go to the back when it’s apparently the worst way to position yourself? What the heck!

    I have been using my pregnancy pillow and wake up with terrible upper and lower back pain. I removed the pillow, slept mostly on my right side, and feel better. I do sometimes roll on my back for a few minutes until I feel that I can not breathe and my limbs get numb that I have to roll on the left. Usually, I switch up like that, otherwise, I would go crazy sleeping on just one side.

    Almost 35 weeks here and the heartburn was so bad last night that I had to prop my head up. With having my head propped up, is it then okay to be on my back? Or should I still side sleep? I tried my best to be on my side last night while propped. Also, having an extra long U shaped pregnancy pillow has helped but I still get pretty bad glute pain... even with my ankles elevated! I find daily walks and stretches/squats helps prevent/reduce/relieve the pain the most. Thanks!!

    • @PregnancyandPostpartumTV
      @PregnancyandPostpartumTV  Před 2 lety +1

      When you are propped up you aren’t really “flat on your back” which is the position where you uterus can squish your inferior vena Cava. I would check with your doctor on the angle that you are on. You can get a big hard wedge to also side sleep elevated. Big hug… it’s so hard at the end. Not too much longer ❤️

    This is the first pregnancy I've actually slept well. Intuitively, I decided to change what I was doing the first two times, no longer willing to just suffer. I added a ton of pillows and surrounded my upper body with them. then I folded my pregnancy pillow in half and placed it between my legs which increased the distance between my knees and made it so it was a symmetrical shape that, if I ended switching to my other side, I had the same setup and didn't have to move the whole giant thing. I have not had the horrible hip pain this time around!

    I couldn’t sleep on my side with my first. It caused me excruciating pain after just a couple hours. I looked it up and apparently if you sleep at a 45 degree angle it relives the pressure so you don’t have to worry about the blood flow. I pretty much slept upright for the last few weeks of my first and am getting to that point with my second.

    So I have a question, what do you do if you have nerve problems? like years ago I got into a horse riding accident and since then I've always had issues if I lay on my side for to long and sadly its specially for my left side since it was actually my left hip that sustained the injury (go figure) I sort of came to after my first baby came to accept the broken sleep I'd get cause I would wake up from trying to sleep on my left side due to the numbness I would experience on that side in my leg and the pain I'd get in my hip. I ended up sleeping alot of times reclined in a chair on nights where it was especially difficult because of this...any advice?

      I know what you mean with the hips and low back pain unfortunately. I have fibromyalgia and rotoscoliosis giving me permanent sciatica most of my life and the pain that just feels like your whole body from just under the ribs to under your bum feels like it's being vice gripped. Or like one of those toys with the ball joint that has a character that flops around above it. Alot of the time my whole body feels like one of those.... The toys with the base where you push the button and it collapses and then let go and it springs back up? No idea what they're called. But my joints feel so unstable especially when I'm flared or the weather is shitty/low pressure that it feels like I'm one of those and it's so bizarre and painful 😮‍💨

    I sleep more on my left side, but I keep switching back and forth between my left and right. Sometimes if I am more awake, I’d get to my back and stretch my legs more. My doula told me I can sleep on my belly too if I have a doghnut shaped pillow and it actually helps with the positioning of the baby for birth. Is that true?

    The problem is that the left side for me encourages acid reflux and esophageal spasms because of the shape of my upper G.I tract. Its totally the wrong shape......and I have scitaic in both legs + back pain which makes an idealistic nights sleep impossible. I have the same nightmare about supressing the blood flow and causing harm every night but realistically cannot sleep on my left because of my esophagus and stomach, even with raised pillows. ☹️ Its very stressful.

    • @BarboraMedkova
      @BarboraMedkova Před 5 měsíci

      Hi, I have had on and off problems with both shoulders even before pregnancy and was worried it would get worse sleeping on my side. What works for me is I have two pillows under my head (that helps with heartburn I get too) and the way I side lie is to lie with my body and spine aligned pretty much as the lady in the video, pillow between the knees and the hand on the same side I lie on is tucked between the two pillows under my head, palm facing up, as if my face was lying on that palm (but the face and the palm are actually separated by that one pillow). The other hand is usually on my hip or somwhere random. I change sides probably 5-6 times (I turn about every 1,5-2 hours) and currently at 35 weeks I can report that my shoulder pain did not get worse, most nights there is not even any discomfort in the shoulders, elbows or wrists. I would add that if you have two pillows under your head and do not feel discomfort, palpitations or diziness , you can safely sleep on your back if that is more comfortable for you. Hope my response makes at least a bit of sense and helps.

      Pelvic Girdle Pain can be terrible! If possible, I would recommend seeing a pelvic floor physio. You can also try rolling over with knees together (also get in and out of car with knees together) and walk side-ways up the stairs one by one. Avoid positions with legs far apart.
