    This should be played in a montage, every winter olympics. I'll never forget watching this with my dad and thinking...."how is he still alive. IMPOSSIBLE."

    I saw him after his award ceremony in Nagano. No words just a wave from a distance at night as we walked separate ways on the street. He seemed as if he wanted to connect to another round-eye there. I was pretty oblivious but waved anyways. The people of Nagano were truly amazing. I hope he appreciated their hospitality.

    Der finnische Kommentator sagte das gleiche was ich mir damals im ersten Moment dachte: Hermann Maier.... Hurrrrrrrerei! Das Comeback später im RTL war umso geiler.

      He was naturally strong and athletic and in his prime, which probably saved him from more serious injury.

    This crash is the most extreme I have seen in my life and not oonly did he survive. He won olymic gold in a race just a a couple of days after. That is proof that angels exist.

      This poor chap won 3 days later the Gold Medal in the Super Ski and 2 days after that the Gold medal in the giants Slalom.
