      @@ChampagneProperty We have already contacted our assessor about getting it done :-) We will have to make a couple of tweaks to the recipe (can't use real sand or shells in the ones we will sell) but hopefully it will be ready soon! Spring sounds like an ideal time, although we have already had a couple of requests from people who want it to give as Christmas presents!

    Hi! Love your videos. Thank you for sharing the recipes. I really appreciate it. Could you let me know if the water to mix the colours is taken off the total water weight or is just mixed with additional teaspoon. Thank you!

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  Před 4 lety +2

      Hello and thank you :-) I hope the recipes are a help to you! We took it off the total water weight, but I reckon you could add an extra teaspoon if you found it easier that way - the soap may just require a little longer to firm up and cure that way.

      The Sussex Handmade Soap Company Thank you! I had a couple of disasters last week, I think it may have been the F/O. My mix went very lumpy real quick. Like tapioca. 🥴. I think it’s brilliant that you are open and honest about soaping and share your knowledge. Many soapers keep tight lipped. Your videos have really helped me. I’m trying to get an idea of which F/O E/O work best. Thank you again ! 🙏🏻

      We have all had disasters in the past! Think of it as part of the learning process :-) We don't use fragrance oils, but I know that some can cause the batter to accelerate and rice, which sounds like what may have happened to you. Yes, when we first started this channel a lot of people we spoke to were surprised that we would share so much information, but the way I see it, I first learnt from other people (whether that be books, CZcams videos or just general advice) and it's nice to be able to share and help other people :-)

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  Před 3 lety

      Hi Katie, I tend to first cut a piece of card to the size of my mould and I then sketch out the design that I want on to the card and cut it all to size that way. It is a little bit of trial and error really, but this is the way that works best for me :-)

    Beautiful. Did you choose to use Fragrance free or you dropped in EO off camera?

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  Před 4 lety

      For this first attempt we left it fragrance free so that we could check the design worked out ok. Next time we make it and when it is released for sale we will be scenting with either Peppermint EO or a blend of Ylang Ylang & Bergamot EO. I like the idea of using a Citrus blend but I tested Citrus oils in a similar soap I am working on and because they are so orange in colour they seemed to taint the pale blue parts of the batter a very slightly green colour.

    Hi there! Thank you for all your video 😘 I'm amazed by your BLUE in this soap and also your rainbow soap.
    Could you please tell me the name of supplier/shop you buy it from? I'm not sure which indigo dye is proper for soap. On the other hand most indigo powder seem to be green powder.
    Can you help with choosing the shop/supplier? I'm from UK.
    Thanks in advance 😄😄

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  Před 3 lety +1

      Hi Katarzyna
      Thank you for your comment :-) We purchase our blue Indigo dye from The Soap Kitchen. They are a UK supplier and are the only place I have found that offer the really blue indigo dye. It is expensive but it is really worth it and you only need to use a small amount to create a bright colour. The Crafters shop in the UK offer the blue Indigo powder, but this does not give anywhere near such a bright colour.
      If you go to the Soap Kitchen website and put "Indigo Dye" into the search bar it should bring it up for you :-)
      Hope this helps!

      Natural colours do have a habit of morphing and changing :-) It can be really interesting to see how these colours change after they have been cut and cured (sometimes it can be frustrating too when a colour changes in a way you don't want it to!)

    Do indigo dye tend to stain , If we start using the soap??

    • @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany
      @TheSussexHandmadeSoapCompany  Před 3 lety

      No, because the indigo is only used in small amounts in the recipe, it does not stain when the soap is used.
