      leokimvideo Better. ‘80s Maiden is hella overrated and tacky. The best cuts in their catalogue start with Fear Of The Dark and on through to today. Hot take, I know, but taste is pretty different when you don’t wear rose goggles.

      Iron Maiden masterpieces belong to the 80's. However, it's cool to still have them today, their public performances are still amazing.

    • @garymitchell5899

      No, 80's Maiden is pure perfection. The guys don't achieve those heights these days, but still the best band in the world.

    • @rockervolt9177
      @rockervolt9177 Před 6 lety +1

      To me, their masterpieces are Powerslave, Somewhere in Time and Seventh Son of. They were on the top of their musicality with those 3 albums. A perfect musical triptych.

    • @patrykgogulski1457
      @patrykgogulski1457 Před 3 lety

      They were amazing in the 80's (albums are masterpieces to date), but live appearances were... disappointing? I think that's because they were on tour for the day after day after day... Beggining of the 90's looks like Bruce was really tired of Maiden. He started solo career and left. Blaze was OK (Albums with Blaze were great [Sign Of The Southern Cross, The Clansman, Edge Of Darkness]). In 2000's They were properly rested and that's the time They were on the peak of their performace... Just when Bruce came back. And then miracles started to happening. First "Brave New World", then "Dance Of Death", but I must say "Book Of Souls" is something out of this world! Title songs are... powerfull. Best band of the world. That's what They are! I will never stop to love Them!

    It's hilarious how they are tuning their own guitars. Every other major touring band has a barrage of guitars in which they have a guy back stage who they switch from off stage. Also love the guitar cord. These guys are total old school.

      British Satan they just rocked Nashville last night and he gave almost the same speech here went before "Book of Souls." I don't know how your show was but at mine they played six songs off of Book of Souls and the crowd was a little annoyed because they didn't just play greatest hits. I have all the maiden live albums and I enjoyed hearing the new stuff. I will say they killed it on Children of the Damned last night. That might have been the best song of the show.

    • @mdub2000
      @mdub2000 Před 7 lety +2

      yeah thats why some of the best iron maiden fans aren't from places like the States anymore...most fans in the States just want the greatest hits, which i love don't get me wrong but i think its awesome that these guys aren't a nostalgia act and that they just keep pumping out new music. I think it keeps Iron Maiden alive and kicking! I don't have a problem at all with anyway they want to do their live shows although I do have to say that who ever is doing the mix on their last few albums needs to fix the mix some how....i don't know maybe i'm just used to listening to the old school records.

    • @mattevans3871
      @mattevans3871 Před 7 lety +1

      susanne williamsson You must be a new Maiden fan, because the old school Maiden fans were there to hear "some" of the new album, not the majority of the show. 2 minutes to midnight, the flight of icarus, run to the hills, stranger in a strange land, wildest dreams, and the list goes on. Those are what put Maiden where they're are in the metal world, not melody and 17 minute symphonic songs. I've seen Maiden over 10 times, and this was a let down to me and I'm sure many fans who attended that show

    • @ironlurker
      @ironlurker Před 7 lety +4

      "Old School" Maiden fan since 1981 here and I love the new stuff as much as the old. Book of Souls is an incredible album. I love that Maiden continues to make new, relevant music and play it for their fans. Maiden doesn't want to be their own tribute band and play the same old shit over and over and over. Leave that to Ozzy, Crue, Poison, Leppard, etc. IMHO Maiden have continued to evolve and progress and left all those other "old school" metal acts in the dust. Actually....in between new album tours they do "greatest hits" tours. I guess you would have enjoyed the Early Days, Somewhere Back in Time, or Maiden England 2012 tours better....

    In the 80's Bruce didn't sound like someone was squeezing his nuts constantly and the rest of the band were not sloppy. To say they are as good now as they were in the 80's is ridiculous.
