I've been a fan since 1978. Isn't it so refreshing to enjoy something real that has genuine substance and comes from the heart. Maiden succeed because they have ALWAYS been about the music and nothing else. There has never been any pretence or gimmicks or jumping on the bandwagon of what's hot at the moment. It's real and THAT, boys & girls, is why Maiden will always be one of the best bands in the world.
Been a huge fan of Maiden since 1980. If there was 1 person in the world of music that I could hang out with for an hour or two, it would be Nicko. Know he gave up drinking, but he seems like the kind of guy that you could hang out with at the local bar, and just laugh your ass off listening to his stories. Just seems like an average guy who happens to be in one of the biggest bands in the world.
Its amazing that Maiden isn't as big in the states as they are pretty much everywhere else I the world. You see them headline Rock in Rio where there are 500,000 plus people and then I go and see them just outside Chicago to barely 10,000 people and they weren't sold out and Bruce said it was the biggest crowd they had played to in the area for quite a few years. This was just a few years ago and they rocked as hard as they did the first time I saw them in 1984 on the powerslave tour. They are to me HeavyMetal GODS!!!!! I know that the end is coming sooner than later, but ou still don't want to admit it.All I can say is UP THE IRONS AROUND THE WORLD!!!!!
IM most popular time in the USA was in the early 90s wen they were touring with Metallica and Megadeth. Music scene in USA is very muched changed since those days.
Chris J Sadly metal is not as big in the US but there are plenty fans throughout the US. I also think the reason they draw more people in Latin America in a single show is because they play 1 show in each country (exceptions Brazil 3 to 5 shows & Mexico 2 to 3 shows). So Maiden fans in these country's & also surrounding countries with no Maiden shows converge on these shows that is held in a big stadium or big open area. Here in the US they perform up to 20 to 25 shows throughout the US in 1 tour. If Iron Maiden did 4 or 5 shows in the US each in a stadium or big open area you would see bigger crowds since fans would be all converging to their closest show.
Wrong. Their peak was 1983 to 1987 in the States. They stated to lose fans starting at the 7th Son tour in both the US and Canada. They never toured with Metallica or Megadeth then.
Nah, its just that US is so damn mainstream its fucking lethal. Every country in the world they sell out with no problem. Take sweden, less ppl then NY but still sells out atleast 2 50k+ stadiums every year. Usually takes like 5min at most to for tickets to be sold out. Its just so much crap music in the US these days. Only good music last ten years is like Foo Fighters and Greta van Fleet
