None of these talking heads bring up how the lions got a lot better themselves. I can't think of a position group on their team that's not loaded.
As a Lions fan, the ONE position that isn’t totally loaded/elite is DE. We only have Hutch. But statistically Hutch was the #1 in QB pressures and when you compare the average amount of time each QB used before throwing the ball, and considering the fact that a QB pressure means “almost sacked the QB”, basically if the new corners can buy him 0.5 seconds per play, he’s gonna sack the QB 20+ times this year
The packers are better but that’s the thing ,we have to wait and see if loves for real ,personally I think NFL scouts will figure him out and he will take a step back
In the past, SOL teams that did well would have had a mass exodus of the players to other teams but this the NFL(New fucking Lions) where only one player left and he was replaced with better.

I like how florio came right out of the gates and said it was a failure last season. The Lions weren't expected to make it that far. Now, the expectations are different. With a better defense the lions would have kept that lead in the 2nd half. They have upgraded significantly on defense. Gonna be hard to make it back to that nfc championship game, but this lions team is better than last season.

It all revolves around self-confidence. The Lions have been steadily improving sense the middle of 2022. Yes they blew a big lead in the championship game last year. But getting there was part of their steady improvement. The question becomes how bad did that damage their self-confidence? I think it's up to Dan Campbell to insure they still believe in themselves. I think he can do that and they will be better this year then they were last year.

Why won't people say this about Jalen Hurts? Howie Roseman has continually made the Eagles an absolute super team (much to my chagrin). Jalen let them down last year. If it wasn't for the tush push, the Eagles wouldn't have accomplished squat. So with Jason Kelce now retired, and Nick Sirianni on the hot seat and bringing in new coordinators, it's a little shocking that Florio seems to be asking this question about Goff literally every day yet never asking it about Jalen Hurts.

Can't wait for this year. To see Florio and many others eat their words. Lions today are smart enough to know their weakness and fix them. This team lost only one good player and he was quickly replaced with equal if not better. Lost a #3 receiver, who cares. Remember who has one of the best OC. O-Line is now #1 in the league, running back duo is getting better, Sun god, Laporte and Jamo going to tear it up, Hutch is only getting better. Add in another draft of studs where they need them. There are reasons that this team is hands down better than last years Lions, and they went 12-5. Lions run defense shut down every team except running QB's, their issue was CB which they had none due to injuries. Fixed that. Bring on SF because no one else in the NFC scares this team.

Those 4 straight super bowl losses were awful for an early grade-schooler, but before I started to know any better I just assumed, because that's all I knew, "my team just goes to the bowl every year. we'll win several eventually..."
Let me tell you, the 17-20 or so years of being bad-mediocre were far more comfortable than what this team has started to do to us again over the past 4 years and now looking to take a step back again.... which was only interrupted in the middle by the music city miracle. Before Lions' fans start raging and lashing out at Florio, heed the advice of someone who has known first-hand how accurate his words are for decades, stop directing your ire where it doesn't belong, and realize wisdom when it's offered to you.
