    This was really good. I added one whole Thai chile and the cucumbers were not too hot, just had a bit of a kick to them. Definitely a keeper!

      @ModernPepper I made some homemade chicken noodles soup 2 days ago and got my ingredients from H-Mart. I also bought a container of kimchi just to snack on( I was thinking about your recipe). I put a couple of pieces in my soup & gave it a try & lost my mind. I put the remaining Kimchi in & gave it a whirl....OMG!!! I am now hooked on Spicy chicken noodle kimchi soup.

    I love your new tasting video format!!! Very professional. "Mini Helen" in the foreground & whatever you are tasting as a backdrop. I've noticed it in your past couple of videos. Very nice.

    could i pickle my cucumbers standing up in a jar?or do they need to lay?

  • @midorimuranakaHiloHI96720

    I would remove the seeds with a spoon

    • @ModernPepper
      @ModernPepper  Před rokem

      Yes! U can use a spoon, but I prefer not to since it creates bruises on the firm part of the cucumber. I prefer a clear cut using a knife. BUT do use a spoon, if that is ur preferred method🙏

    And sugar again! I don't think I've ever seen a Korean recipe without sugar! I wonder what's the diabetes incidence in Korea?

    • @seriouslyjoking2
      @seriouslyjoking2 Před rokem +5

      Sugar does not cause diabetes. I have type 2 & have a genetic predisposition to diabetes. My thin grandfather who worked hard & ate well went into a coma when he went to sleep & opened his eyes to his legs amputated. BTW, I am 66 about the same age my grandfather went into his coma. ALL his 7 children had diabetes & so do his grandchildren.

      @@seriouslyjoking2 Sugar DOES cause diabetes, and obesity and high blood pressure and many other health issues.. Sugar is known as a toxic substance. Some people have a genetic predisposition to diabetes, but not all people. I have type 2 diabetes as well (59 yo), and nobody from my family ever had diabetes. But I worked into the chocolate and confectionery industry, so...

      Low because they eat a lot of veggies and have normal portions, as opposed to americans

      Stevia is an appoved safe sugar substitute that can be used by those who have diabetes.

      @@ctianas Please check your science. SUGAR does not directly cause diabetes, it may lead a person to become overweight which does contribute to the development of Type 2 diabetes but all overweight people do not develop diabetes. Your employment aside (did everyone at the chocolate factory get diabetes?) your argument is not persuasive in light of science. Having a disease does not automatically make you any kind of an expert.
