    Great video Gerry looks like a nice pit of silage the tractor looks big on the harvester but then again no one ever complained that they had too much power 👍

    They were busy silaging in Ashbourne Derbyshire today.Two different farmers both had John Deeres pulling trailed foragers. The trailers were hitched to the forager because some of fields are a bit hilly. I even saw a single axle trailer drawing..

    Baffles me having the trailer on that side when your reel is over the other shoulder. Is there any theory behind it or just the Irish? 😂 making my neck ache watching! Cheers as always Gerry

      Because the trailer man fills his trailer as it’s on his right side. You only fill on the other side if you have poor trailer men

    I never seen steam coming of a load of grass before,can't imagine that'll be nice sitting on top of a pit,grass needs to be put in as quick as possible and covered

      It’ll make no differance. Was only 1/4 of a load. What do you think the silage will do when it’s covered. Cool down

    Any chance you need a driver for the second cut... ill do it for the experience of getting to drive that 3650. I'm 36 and a farmer so I'll mind it, don't worry. It would be my pleasure 😊

    Grass crop is very good quality and should be excellent feed for your cattle. Great shots that you took looking at the harvest. Thanks for explaining what you're doing as you go through everything.

    Gerry the condition of your gear is a credit to ye. Being 25+ plus removed from tractors ( cousins farm summer holidays) I am right in thinking these new tractors HP is not the same as the old ones, i.e. TW 35 /JD 3650 etc?These were 115/130 hp while roaring got threw it. The modern ones at 200HP seem to die a bit? I stand corrected on all.

    Liam delayed from portlaoise has aharvester the same as that on JF 900

    Why wouldn't you use the digger to pack it better ??., I don't know much about silage pits. We make bales.

    I used to side load with a trailed and I would never in a month of Sundays load trailers on that side . Why do that when you only have to pick your eyes up to see the trailer your loading .

    would it not be less strain on your neck and easier to watch reel and loading trailer if you ran alongside on the other side
