Wondering when you mention winter barley and spring barley, what's the difference 🤔
Different varieties developed based on when you sow. Winter usually late sep/oct and spring in march. Winter varieties tend to yield more but cost more to grow, due to extra pesticides and fungicides
2.5 ton at current price wont pay for much on plus side straw price is strong last few years Dr joe patten teagasc had lastest research on current margins in farming published on agriland if u read the article u wonder will farmers b farming in 10 years time politicians would well to read it before the next election best luck with rest of farming
No total waste of time. Even at 3.5 ton to acre it’s no good. Barley was 150 a ton 20 years ago. It should be 300 plus a to allow for poor years.

@gerry6420 john deere bought the design off matbro it is a matbro design maybe cab and engine are different same as Terex bought matbro Quote from farm weekly 1998 AS EXPECTED, John Deere has purchased the design rights to manufacture Matbro telescopic handlers - both rigid and pivot steer - for, it is reported, a sum of £7m. Deere says it is to set up a manufacturing base at one of its European plants - although the time scale of such production has yet to be decided.
@@rangecomand John Deere 32/3400 were a closer relation to a matro but very little actually carried over on those. When the 32/3420 came out 6 years after Deere bought matbro, there was zero from matbro remaining. Was an all Deere. It one of the reasons a 3420 was so much better then its 3400 predecessor. There actually was some matbros right back at the start when Deere accuired them that Deere painted green and yellow and badged. But very few small numbers. That’s was around 1997. I must do a video on it. Enlighten all you lads that don’t know. I’ve quite a bit of info on it.
