Ahhh the memories, I have written a batch printing software for this printer long time ago when I was working at a wholesale company. It can print only one label each time. Printing multiple different labels is not possible without a workaround which what I did. The joy of seeing the entire store labeled in one day was wonderful.

I used to maintain Zebra label printers for our company. We had the ZD620, ZT610, and the Intermec 4420 was my favorite.

Saw the same trick with the soldering iron and hot air station on Mr SolderFix channel three days ago.
He uses aluminum foil tape instead of Kapton tape to cover the plastic parts.
Always nice to learn something new.

i bought a thermal printer of ebay before xmas to fix and use , when i plugged it up to test it it worked perfectly and was nothing to fix , was well upset lol but at least i got a working thermal printer cheap .

It is amazing what some calibrated solder can fix.
These connectors are a common source of failure on many devices,
the pcb mounted ones don't like been abused

I'm dealing with something almost the same. Trying to remove the socket is a pain because it is soldered on both sides. There is just enough solder left after vacuuming that it will not release, and because it is in both sides, you heat up one side, and the back side cools again.I think I need 3 irons and 4 hands 😀

I had a similar fault on a thing sometime ago. I don't remember the thing but do remember the fix. Re-flowing the power connector. Visually it looked fine but continuity test revealed high resistance. Lead free, too cold or too much mass in the tab to flow correctly in the oven maybe. Anyway, good video showing a sneaky fault.

Sorin, nice fix but please look at time 5:20 of the video the solder connection on switch also looks bad unless it’s a shadow. You may have seen this. Enjoy all your videos…

Why is the charger 24.4V? Our battery powered vacuum cleaner also has the same voltage, but because it has batteries. This one does not.

Small label printers like this are OK to repair but larger laser printers are more mechanical so you need mechanical experience for a lot of the issue that arise on them.

I hate those things. These were my biggest enemies when I was working as a system administrator. I would've let it die just as a revenge for all the time lost trying to make these things work

Why? They made decent label printers. We used to run 30 of them at our company. I did always prefer the Intermec 4420 as it was all metal
