    hi sorin , i advice you to use money rubber to scour the screen in there place until the adhesive hardness , i work in phone repair and find its the best way to do that without damaging the new screen , this method will not put high pressure on the screen and you can give the phone to the customer without need to wait the adhesive hardness (if he cant wait) , hope these make your work more easier

    Hello and thanks for your videos. I’ve been a consumer repair tech for many years on & off. Must say I’m impressed with your troubleshooting & repair abilities. I love the tools you used in this phone video, esp the usb charge monitor tool you are using. Unfortunately it shows as non-available as well as the thermal camera. I didn’t however see the thermal camera used in this video, but I can think of many uses for such a device. Thank you, have a great day. 🙂👍

    No, the 2.7A at 5V is actually correct, if you account for thermal loses and the 0.2A from the resistance drop it comes down to basic Apple like 5v 2.4V (it just triggers the DCP at 5V 2.4A), the only reason the you see we see 2.7A its because of the losses and the fact that the battery is heavily discharged as well, it's just triggered another charging protocol as a fallback because that charger doesn't support QC2 which is the S9+ officially supports.
    PD (USB i mean), PD MTK and or QC2 MTK Or just QC2 is another combination of protocols some from MediaTek and Qualcomm by using the PD standard over it.
    My Poco F1 for example can trigger a variety of modes PD v2.0 at 18 watt at 9V and 2A but also a 6.9V decreasing as the battery charges down to around 5.2V starting from (with thermal loses included) 2.8A as that is slowly decreases to around "0mA" when it reaches 100%,
    I have a lot and very high quality of chargers (the original which triggers the last one) who support most of the charging protocols which are out there and have tested this and also at work with like all the Galaxy A and S family(both Exynos and Snapdragon variants), all of the Xiaomi, Notes, Pocos etc etc and the normal ones or Pros or whatever, even the HUAWEI ones.
    The Xiaomi ones usually trigger the PD MTK or MTK or QC2 fast charging protocol the rest are on either Samsungs AFC or SFC which is basically a QC2 copy at 9V 2A or rarely the PD v2 or just the DCP at various Ampere values but always 5V.
    Charging protocols are a mess to deal with...
    Edit: We use the exact same pad for heating phones at the store i work. This is basically a universal standard at this point.

    • @electronicsrepairschool
      @electronicsrepairschool  Před rokem +1

      I understand your point but, this not a standard, usb-c was accepted as a standard but each manufacturer modified the communication protocol so now we have a bunch of standards and protocols. This was the idea, one charger for everything :D

    • @ndi4926
      @ndi4926 Před rokem +1

      @@electronicsrepairschool USB-C is the connector, not the stuff that goes through it. The voltage, amps, comms, etc are part of the thing that goes through it, be it USB 1, 2, 3, PD, BC or QC.
      The point of the USB-C is to be insertable a lot, stiffen the connection, make it reversible, faster and increase the power delivery, but there has to be room for improvement while the connector stays, so the protocols have been freed as to keep increasing power and speed and to allow for competition between manufacturers while keeping minimum interconnectivity.
      Ideally, devices should support as many standards as possible, but what is likely is that they will all support the workhorse 5V 3A that PD allows and not worry about phone model to keep things cheap.
      They have achieved what they set out to do. You can charge at any port (up to 15W) and you can also use one of the standards (QC or PD) to go up to 100W.
      In the future, however, since USB PD is part of the USB spec and allows up to 100W (Extended to 240W in 2021), it is likely that it will be more widespread. Under the hood, Apple accepts USB PD, Samsung has just put out 45W chargers with USB PD certified (15V 3A), I think we're seeing the emergence of a final standard. It's simpler (5, 9, 12 and 20 volts) and also supports the fine control thing.
      It seems that 3A is here to stay. So 5V (15W), 9V (27W) and 15V (45A) are going to be the phone and tablet staple, with the 20V and the higher extended ranges to be used for laptops, replacing the 19V thing they do now.

    I been watching a lot of videos from this chap and love watching them they are very informative and been very useful
    I have dabbled in computer repairs for sometime and done a few basic repairs on mobile phones and tablets but going down to component level I kinda shy away
    But seeing these videos has helped a lot in figuring out what may be the problem on certain devices and I'm now considering buying some of the equipment such as scope the hot air soldering kit have a couple laptops sat around for practicing so let's see
    In fact I have 2 laptops that need repairing one of them was supposed to be just a reformat but the owner failed to tell me the darn thing doesn't even switch on only has an orange charging light and the other laptop for water damages after roof got blown off during a typhoon and seen at least 3 blown components one actually looks like it melted
    Actually I also have an Asus Zenfone that stuck on Asus logo when turning on it won't even flash stock firmware not entirely sure what's up with it if it's a problem with the Emmc as copying the content stops at a certain percentage or if it's down to locked bootloader so any tips on that would help
    So more of these videos I shall be watching

    Thank you for this video, here are my 3 cents to it.
    1. Yes, working with original parts is OK, but there are customers who want new parts, not used parts. And if you can't get the original part new, you'll have a trouble with this customer.
    2. There are 3 major types of displays, which are incell, soft and hard LCDs. I don't like HARD ones, really easy to damage. A good one incell or soft are my preferences. Incell is the cheapest, but, it comes at the cost. Make a research, you can learn about them :).
    3. Apple screens are much cheaper than the rest ;). Worth mentioning though.
    4. Yes, you have to remove all the glass, correct, but it doesn't mean you have to use a microscope for it like 100% of the times. You can do it with a magnifying glass as well in many cases IMHO.
    5. Good that you've mentioned about the proximity sensor. Ideal would be to mention the location of it. Most of the people won't know the location and won't be bothered to look for it. yes, that's their problem if they'll damage, but, would be nice to add this and make it a complete tutorial :).
    6. I'd like to convert one screen to another device. If will do it like ever, will post on this/my youtube channel. But, for now don't have diagrams of screens like LVDS signals, and those additional chips like in Apple and others. I don't have too much spare time as well, so it's a dream more than anything else ;).

The other cheap charger can do 5/9/12/15/19 depending on the model and if its good. So check the output voltages from the HP charger that you have.

    Copies of original parts usually have been made with a little guesswork in mind, which can cause trouble with some functionality of the device ranging from something minor to something major which is why most people prefer to work with original ones unless the copies are very good and certified or they don't care a lot about the device working perfectly all the time for whatever reason. Customer is choosing most of the time, we make him aware of all the options depending on the device and current stock levels.
    For screens we try to almost always buy one which has the LCD and the Digitizer together so we don't have to mess up with glues and risk of white/yellow/red or improper fitting and thus cracking sooner or later.

Because of Apple's policies. Also, there are copies and copies. Some of them are really rubbish, but others are so close to the original that you can't make any difference. Copy doesn't mean every time something bad or with bad quality.
