I came down here to say the same thing. XD You never know what to expect when Zedaph shows up other than it's going to be something rediculous that he makes seem perfectly normal and we all love him for it.

The villager should be the receptionist to his shop or home. It's just something that grabs your attention, so it's perfect as a reception point.
You should give Grian some pointers. About starting builds with the back, just so you make sure the back gets built lol.
He needs to stop considering the difference "faces" of his build as being front vs back. You can approach just about any build from any angle which means it needs to be aesthetic and recognizable from any angle.
But that means Grian would not have a base
Just remember he’s building at a mountain so it does have a back

If you're gonna make that skyscraper into a falling game, don't forget to dig down to bedrock. That way you'll get the 'Caves & Cliffs' advancement as a reward.
Could also use shulkers to get to the top (for "Great View From Up Here") _a la_ his Season 8 candy factory.
And adding mobs to the bottom, it would be possible to get the Over-Overkill one, once the next update comes, if you have the hammer/mace.
Etho needs to do the "You've Been Etho'd" graffiti from his main world.

@@Yamaelp In the US ours are mostly blue, sometimes rarely you can still find olive green or red ones and even a few others if they're really old from before the post office started standardizing the official colors and haven't been repainted.

If you're leaving the skyscraper build for later, you could put a crane in the middle for now. So it looks like it's in the middle of construction.

For big blank walls on large skyscrapers, I have three words for you
Large Video Billboards
This effect could be accomplished by having a section of copper bulbs that turn two different patterns on and off. Like a person bringing a drink to their lips or something similar. Just the silhouette of it, kinda like those old neon signs that flashed between two states to advertise a bar or something.
this reminds me of fwhips dwarven kingdom on empires s2! similar concepts with animated signs, hopefully he sees this!

the fact that nobody has done a "buy at boatem" graffiti is disappointing, it would be a neat throwback

I just noticed, that if you build the skyscraper, it will have a part of it on the same Hight as joels monorail, so it would be amazing to see it connect in the far future! It could also be part of the "drop" as an obstacle!

He is rich enough to own a yacht, sells transportation under the table without a permit, and when deals go south, he sends a message by sending dead horse heads.
I can't believe a whole horse carcass can fit through the mail system..

To help promote etho’s froglight shop you could go to other hermits bases and build froglight-based decor. That way that if they want more around their base they have to buy froglights.
Oh... add froglight ads in the city

I've seen a lot what Minecraft can do, even in vanilla, but a villager riding a chicken somehow just blows my mind 😂

That new building has a fun design/shape.
The only way I can think of how Zed got a villager riding a chicken is he had to wait for a zombie villager chicken jocky to spawn, which I didn't even know existed, and cured it. Thus allowing the baby villager to mature, still riding the chicken. That's nuts!

the thing i love abt them being all close together this season is like this when they are having a conversation and then just casually have gem walking in the background piping in here and there 😂
some things SHOULD BE symmetric impulse. I would think a Bank would try to be symmetric. even in a cyberpunk dystopia, in fact some things forcing symmetry in the overall unsymmetric world would make sense.
It's not symmetrical! Look at the potion bottles... yep, I ruined it.
Absolutely love the BOP N GO shop front. When you go into a bank the ATM machines are always pretty symmetrical so it tracks. Lol I still love the "BOP N GO" name too, very skizzleman. Love that you two are on the server together 😊
I thought the same, symmetry is not always bad or good, just like how non-symmetry is not always bad, or good. A modern city would obviously use both. It just depends on the situation and an ATM being symmetrical is perfectly fine.
Unless he can talk Joel out of the permit he’s going to have to rethink the shop.
I think it would be really cool to have some flying cars in the city and big hologram displays; advertisements, announcements, and such. Hermits can have their shops promoted on the hologram signs.

20:50 you can make it so your storage automatically crafts blocks for you. You can also make it split so you get both crafted and uncrated quartz. And then shulker load it. I did it at my farm and it’s amazing.

Even if Joel gave the go ahead on the skyscraper, the placement of the skyscraper goes against the togetherness vibe of the season, I want to give the criticism with the notion that I enjoy everything impulse is doing this season, but the skyscraper placement isn't good for cohesive flow. I think the skyscraper would look awesome more towards the center, obviously impulse has a plan and I support the trust the process mentality, but I don't love blocking off Joel when he has made the effort to join in.

I think you should add more "Bop n go" on the adjacent signs, to make it seem like a scrolling screen.
Bdubs will be able to drag you kicking and screaming away from symmetry.... I think. If Bdubs cannot fix you there is no hope.
For Joel's entrance id propose to build a park, perhaps with fake plants or alien ones! Like the pitcher plants thoses would be prefect for the theme! That way it fits in a bit more with the garden on the other side of the torii gate!
Playing on a swrver with Zedaph seems wild. Every hermit exists in extremes, but nobody is on the same alien wavelength as that man.
How does scar manage to sound like the most genuine and honest person and like he is absolutely scamming you, all at the same time? XD

Instead of blocking joel's tori gate complete you should make one of those mesh walls there that are made to keet intruders away and add some sort of bug trash buns or mave add street lamp with a cat resting or whatever you like ,this is just a suggestion, anyway love your videos

It’s so much fun watching episodes as someone who also caught the streams - just seeing what nuggets make it in and how the editing can emphasize the comedic timing of events that happened completely organically is so cool!
Also- maybe I’m just not seeing that side of Hermit media, but from what I have seen, Keralis doesn’t get enough credit for his mischief 🤣 it all goes to Doc and Grian mostly but I am still new to the fandom so that could be just me. If anyone has recs for chaotic Keralis moments hmu!

Parkour and cyber punk feel like they go together really well. Have you considered making the city you're building into a parkour park? Possibly setup slime block launchers all over the place to allow for impossible jumps between towers.
I have to say the timelapses are so much more fun to watch now they’re not just litematica 3d printing! I can totally understand using it still for larger builds, but I’m feeling more inspired as a viewer watching you build in survival
I love the idea of a cyberpunk city being like Blade Runner, a dense city with huge buildings where the ground level feels almost underground, cables, neon signs, tight crammed, tall, deep, layers, higher levels only accessible by landing platforms.. so cool
I love how everyone is working on blending their builds in with each other's! It makes the whole map feel like a community and like a real place rather than a bunch of people separately building on a server together.

*@impulseSV* 23:58 The wall should really be 2 blocks thick (maybe with 1 hollow space between, aka 3 thick not solid).
In this way, graphiti on one side will not be "mirrored" wrong on the "back side", instead they can build a duplicate correctly on that other side too.
And a thicker wall also allows for more 3D effects in the wall.
The 1 hollow space, can be used for flat art that is "double sided" (not affected by mirroring, it's symmetric) by removing the outer walls & building in the middle space.
I think maybe a back alley doctor or clinic would be fun to add, very dystopian/cyber punky

The Bop N Go sign can help add to the asymmetry if it were a moving led sign. you can make it look like it is scrolling from one end to the other.
On the gray wall of the new building, you could put an ad for ethos froglights.

For the blank wall... I think of LOTS of advertising in cyberpunk... That whole wall could be a giant billboard advertisement for something...
Also for your Bop N Go ... one way to have it not be symetrical... one side could be busted up, broken vandalized...
And in dystopian cities... I picture lots of people crowding the street with little carts trying to sell whatever they can to make a buck. Maybe at the base of Joel's stairs have a crowded little market of stalls, barrels, litter, trash, you name it...
Love how your new build's colours kind of match Joel's base. Really ties the 2 bases together nicely

I think a fun idea for the skyscraper to be a thing until it is built all the way up would be to use some copper grating to make it look like there are some unfinished beams being put up. Maybe it could look like rebar or something!
for making the interior of the building into a dropper, I would dig out the basement of the building, maybe even all the way down to bedrock... You could even have subway tunnels as some of the obstacles to avoid while falling...
I want Doc to leave a german postbox at peoples's bases, too. I like our yellow boxes.

Idea for the tower, split the inside in half! First the hermit goes one side via a shulker levitation course then they do the fall game one the other side. Maybe have the dividing wall be stained glass to resemble cyberpunk forcefield!
Regarding the dropper game, with inspiration from Mumbo's amazing base entrance system, it would be fun if to start the dropper game you had to throw a snowball at a llama with a relevant name like "Dropper Llama" and get spit off the edge, that way if you die while playing the game you'd get the chat message "ImpulseSV was doomed to fall by Dropper Llama"
I am LOVING the way the cyberpunk city is starting to really take off!!! The SHAPES on the new buildings are so good!

Commenters, correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe "old muggins" is a term used to refer to oneself as a stupid person when having to do something silly or undesired. So in this case, Scar is saying he doesn't want to but will take care of it himself (not that I'm sure he knows that's what it means). 🐍

You should add a construction crane working on the building until you are ready to finish it.
I second the TGCommander crane suggestion…. further, I suggest it be the take off point for the dropper game. This allows visibility to Joel’s area to continue, a very punk feel to the start of the game, the body of the crane could be the staging area with bed, chest, instructions, etc. For a proper dropper, you were going to need to dig down, anyway.🤷♀️ Seems like a win-win. 😉 I concede I don’t know all your plans, like how this game connects to others. Just an idea.
I'm so excited to see the city grow and can't wait to see what games you will put in the buildings. You're turning into a one-man-Noxcrew here. 😄 The buildings actually look like they would fit in an MCC map, but better.
Just finished watching the previous upload exactly as this one was uploaded! Talk about timing man. Loving it so far. I honestly would consider having Joel move his gate to line up with the street, should be easy to do and I feel like that could look pretty cool long term with all the other buildings popping up. It'll leave a nice view up to his base.
i love the new building a lot, and how the color scheme fits with joels part, since its the closest to the gate. makes the two bases blend in a bit more.
Joel's section into his build could be a real foliage dense hidden gateway , in this otherwise mechanical cyber city, to his Japanese garden kingdom.
the huge blank wall of the one building could do with a huge poster. It sounds super grindy, but imagine a large interconnected map art, 5(maps high)x2(maps wide). Beef would love to help, I’m sure 😂
Sky bridges. I've never seen a cyberpunk city without them.
It’s so fun getting throw backs to older seasons, it lets some of the newer hc watchers get some of the lore
Skyscraper alternate idea: instead of the falling dodge minigame, how about a swimming minigame sorts (inspired based on worlds largest swimming pool in dubai) you can also have a glass wall in centre to look in middle while hermits are attempting the game.
I am absolutely loving the new build! Was worried when you started out the timelapse with the great tower of cyan terracotta, but it turned out to be a seriously awesome build, and its abundantly obvious how much you have worked at getting away from generic boxy/symmetrical builds.
Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, there is nothing wrong with having some symmetry but I think you are managing to hit the perfect sweet spot right now.

If the dropper game goes build height to Bedrock you get the bonus of an achievement for survival. And you could colab with zedaph for the gamification theme too.
