      @@mowerdog Belleville, Ontario, Canada. Our government gave us steel clad coated with copper and nickel. Very interested to see how much juck I have to dig to find CDN money. The CTX 3030 had a good feature for CDN money. Search for the nonferrous then switch to another mode to use target trace sizing to see if infact it had a coin signature.

    Had my Manticore for about 6 weeks now. I'm a beach hunter on the gulf coast of Florida but I am learning from you inland guys on how the machine acts on the 2D graph. Thanks for posting, this thing is gonna be great at target ident.

      @@mowerdog you need to go to one of your most hunted out parks that you use the mine lab equinox on and use the manticore and see what you pull up and make a video. You might be really surprised specially, if it’s finding coins on edge that’s kind of what happened to me when I got the mine lab equinox 800 I went to all the houses that I had done before with another mine lab and I was pulling all kinds of silver that I missed and totally was like starting over again I’m sure you’ve experienced this already but I just couldn’t believe it and the detector I had wasn’t a piece of crap. It was a $1400 detector. It was just old technology. Look forward to next video. Have a good one.

    I've only had my Manticore out for about 5 hours. So far it seem if the 2D dot/blob is on the center (12) line, or starts there then gets pulled away by some iron it's a must dig. Most often a coin. Enjoyed the video, nice hunting spot you have there...!

    I'm guessing that is an area that you had not hunted in the past. Fun video thanks for sharing.

      I've hunted it for 20 or so years. This particular area has always had saplings and thorn bushes every inch. You couldn't swing a 4 inch coil with any success.

    The rifling on that bullet has me intrigued. The rifling appears to be more pronounced than what I've seen on others. If the video isn't distorting the image, I suspect that it's from an earlier period of the civil war, or from a rare rifle. I think the rifle can be identified.
    Reach out to the one of the CW channels and see what they think.
    Cool spot on the once grassy knoll.
    An old resort, why are there civil war bullets and coins in that location?
    I really enjoyed watching this hunt!
    Tks! & HH.

      I agree. I thought all musket rifles were smooth bore. I even edited out some video questioning of film about my stupidity having never dug a bullet with rifling grooves. LOL. But it "look" like there were some. I'll check out your the channels you advised....

    • @mowerdog
      @mowerdog  Před rokem

      Looking at the bullet now and the grooves are not in a spiral pattern. They appear to be dead strait. There are 7 grooves. The search is on for that barrel................

    • @pigeonbloodruby5330
      @pigeonbloodruby5330 Před rokem

      @@mowerdog The depth of the rifling is too much, and there are I think 3 rings on the bullet.
      It's possible that it was forced down the barrel of a rifle that wasn't designed for it.
      If I recall correctly, the first rifled barrels had a hexagonal bore. That's what it looks like on that bullet.
      I hope you find someone who knows there CW bullet history!
