I want to hear Tauhid....Karma has always been a favorite, and I like Pharoah's Rejoice album from the 90s. oh man....Dialogue!....that's the one that got me started on Bobby Hutcherson. Incredible finds Lovell! After getting the UHQR I was able to find a VG+ copy of John Coltrane A Love Supreme (Speakers Corner) which sounds awesome as well. Not sure which one I like better lol. 🙂
Lovell, thanks for showing ''Blues For Allah''. The Grateful Dead were at their core, an improvisational ''jazz'' band. I saw them perform live at least 50 times, they reached the same heights as the classic Coltrane Quartet. Ornette Coleman, David Murray and Branford Marsalis jammed with them at some live shows. Jerry Garcia plays on Ornette's ''Virgin Beauty'' album.
Michael that’s awesome you saw the Dead they are the quintessential jam band Blues for Allah blew me away the musicianship top notch I believe they reached the heights they improvise on the fly they are truly connected with the Jazz greats. I would have love to see Brandford Marsalis playing with them he a killer sax player . Michael I so happy you enjoyed the Tag have a great rest of the week.

Killer albums, man! I agree with you on a lot of your selections. Byrd In Hand is so damn good. Here Am I is easily one of Byrd’s best compositions. Superrrr killer! Blues for Allah is a great pick! You’re the first person I’ve seen shown it. Help on the way / slipknot is one of my favorite Dead songs too. Happy new year, man! Hope 2024 continues to be a fruitful year for you

Would love to have a copy of the Clifford Jordan. The reissue came out on P-Vine last year but never bought. Not sure what the SQ will be like as it’s a vinyl rip

I was at the Murray and the Ornette shows. The version of Lovelight they did with Ornette is a keeper for sure.
