Thank you a lot for the video. One question, those the size of wheel matters? Can you do it with 29"?
I've watched 90% of your 483 posted vids so far (many of them several times). Your clear and concise teaching is amazing and on par with your excellent riding skills, not to mention your very well edited videos. I rarely comment on vids but awesome video and channel! During the past 6 months your trials tutorials, specifically, have me hooked on learning this style from the basics on up. Thank you very much Aaron. Always look forward to your new vids and continue to watch previous ones regularly.
Wow! Thanks so much for this, it totally made my day. I’m so glad to hear that the videos have been helpful - that means a lot. Thanks again for watching!
I say the same, I hope you also get paid as the videos have more quality than many tv waves...
I am always listening to all of these videos over and over,
you´re a teacher and I am higly thankfull for it, sorry for the bad english.
This is one of the most educated videos ever for MTB riding. Thanks a lot.
Thanks so much! 🙏
The encyclopedia of intelligent riding skills right here. Thanks for putting this out as a reference.
Thanks so much - I've been wanting to put this together for a little while as a way to guide everyone through the order of skills to learn. Hope it's helpful!
Alright, that's it, I'm going to spam your channel on every social media platform I know of. Thanks for taking the time to put this together! Great stuff.
Haha thank you!! Appreciate the support! 🙏
Congrats ! Finally you've come up with this. This is what all beginner bikers have been waiting for.
It was tough to get it in the right order, I changed it quite a few times before I settled on this. Hopefully it's helpful for everyone!
You must have some kind of BED in education because the way you've platformed this dogma in a very concise well structured pre-learning post-learning manner is absolutely amazing. Very great video. This is my reference video for the rest of my life and my friends when it comes down to mountain biking techniques
Wow, thank you! Glad this was helpful, and I hope you like the next series I'm working on as well. Thanks so much!
Most helpful vid I’ve ever seen!!!!!!!
Thank you!
this is gold. I'm saving this to watch again and again.
Awesome! That’s the highest praise I could ask for in a video! 🙏
This stuff is gold! Love the fine details and the progressive nature of the training. Keep up the good work ❤
To anyone watching this, then ran quickly to their bike to try it (like me) just remember practice makes perfect😂 maybe because Aaron makes it look so easy, I got really frustrated at the beginning. It became clear to me what I’m doing wrong once I filmed myself.
Thank you Aaron for this gem 💎
Filming yourself is the best thing, you get to see the difference between what you "think" is happening versus what is really happening. Best thing to do if you want to learn fast - and it sounds like you are well on your way! :)
very clear with basics, I came here after watching other basics skills videos, and one thing you mentioned ..we don't need suspension or other fancy stuff to learn, gives me more confidence :)
The best mtb techniques video
Thank you! 🙏
Love your content. The salt'n'pepper chest hair peeking out of ur hoodie is just a bonus😅
Haha!! Thanks for watching!
All in one video! Thank you 🙏. Only yesterday I’d made a card to keep in my wallet of your first five and second five skills to help me stay focused. And now there’s this compilation.
👍👍👍
Oh that's awesome! I was thinking about making a trials version of this video, too...what do you think?
@@SuperRiderTV I thought these were trials fundamentals, but heck yes! I’ve got both the new-to-me 20” mod and a new 29” hardtail. FYI, I’d buy “The SuperRider Pocket Guide To Fundamental Trials Skills”
They are, in a way - they apply to every bike, which is the best part! Actually working on a guide like that…hopefully ready by the end of the year. I’ll keep you posted for sure!
This is the best video the internet has ever seen! Thank you so much
Stoked that you like it - thanks for watching!
Thank you, teacher
Thanks for watching, hope it was helpful!
Excellent video(s). Thank you for the great instructions to improve my bike skills.
Your vocabulary and enthusiasm, spoken with a kind, humble, and encouraging tone, gives me confidence to "make progress."
Also, the outstanding, detailed camera work explained and reinforced what you were saying. Nice job editing.
Thanks so much, this totally made my day!
What a great contribution to the community. This is an amazing outline of how to progress.
Thanks JBank!! My attempt at a proper “skill tree” for technical MTB…I know we’ve been talking about this one for a minute!
Thank you for sharing this outline of a new youth training program. It's a well thought out plan that could have a positive impact on our community.
Thanks so much! If every new rider started with these skills and drills, we'd be in great shape!
I KNEW IT hi im new here and 10minutes in I was like waaait a second those are all trials moves/skills, then near the end you say you come from trials!!! Well played, clever way to motivate everyone to learn those fundamentals (that you are absolutely correct of course about working and being extremely useful and also will allow people to breakthrough to the next level of bike control) but while not putting "trials" in the video title as some might get scared of that OR assume it wont apply to them. Orrr at least thats what it seems like you were going for? Well either way, great job.
Haha, busted! You got it...that's exactly what I'm doing here. Let's hope it works! :)
Sweet! You put them all in one place! Time to start practicing!
Practice makes progress! 🙌
This is an incredible resource Mr. Super Rider. Being able to find everything in once place is a huge benefit over other tutorial videos. Thanks man!!
Right on, thanks for checking it out! I hope you find these tutorials useful!
Thanks for posting
Thanks for watching!
this is extremely useful video, big thanks !
Awesome, so glad to hear it! Thanks for watching!
Great video!!
Thank you!
Love this channel.very helpful to me and easy to understand with simple and concise teaching.
Thank you! 🙏
Thanks a lot from France, your explainations are easy to understand for a ´frenchie ‘.
Each of your video give us energy to practice a new skill but the last one summerizes most of them and also gives us the chronology!
Thanks again.
Thanks!! So glad to hear that this was helpful!
Merci beaucoup 😊 just what i needed for my progression 😊
Awesome! Glad to help!
HOly CraAP I just realized its an hour of skills tutorials!
Thank you sir for sharing.

This video is one of the greatest out there. Putting in the effort to give informative and fun ways to enjoy MTB is always appreciated.. keep up the good work sir!
Thanks so much!
Wow thanks, just did a 30 second trackstand after following your lessons for a few weeks. Stoked. Trying to decide what's next, wheelies me thinks.
Awesome!! I made a wheelie video on this channel, definitely check it out if you haven't already. Have fun!!
Thanks for this Aaron! actually im a novice MTBiker i ride for a almost a year now.. this lessons teaches me how to be a good rider less than a year. my bike control and balance immensely improved so much that boost my confidence on trails. not only that i also show off new tricks i learn from you to impress my friends 😂 my only problem now is how to jump and do cool tricks on jump 😂😂.
YES!! That's awesome - sounds like you are making solid progress!
❤ helpful tips for a master rider thanks mannn!!😊❤
Have fun!! :)
Very good. Thanks
Have fun!
Amazing effort. Thank you so much.👍👍Now it's my turn and there's really no excuse for not practising. I can do this in my driveway!
Right on! Practice makes progress! :)
Great demos. "English" bunny hops are more important than a traditional bunny hops bc trail features come fast and time for proper prep isn't always there. Track stands IMO lead to all the other skills and you show that w the order of skills in the vid. The legs and arms are the true suspension in mtb, the fork and shock are just assists.
Agreed!
I loved it. Huge thanks. To my eyes these are magic, you're a magician.
I'll try to do as much practice as I can
Thanks so much for watching. Practice makes progress!
Brilliant!
🙏
Really good video explains it better to my son than ever could have 👍
Thanks so much, glad it was helpful!
Love your videos you are amazingly clear in teaching MTB skills I'm a novice in MT Biking and I will be putting your teaching skills to lots of practice.🚴Thank You Super Rider Aaron 👍👍
Awesome, so glad to hear it! Have fun - practice makes progress!
This is an excellent video for newer riders with some tips that anyone can benefit from. I've been on a mountain bike since around 1990 (yeah, I'm old.) and I'm using these instructions to clean up some of my skills while I'm off the trails recovering from an injury. Good stuff for sure.
Right on, so glad to hear that this video has been helpful for you. Thanks so much for watching!
thank you, sir you are, awesome.
Thanks so much for watching, I hope it was helpful!
nice and extensive video. would love to see those techniqes when using a heavier bike like a emtb fully.
Thank you! Here's a version of this video on an ebike: czcams.com/video/VVO-jrw-glQ/video.htmlsi=oyKVfz-7rE8Uyevg
I love my bikes but every time I see your chameleon I need one just like it
Ha! It's a great bike, no doubt. Got this one off of PinkBike a few years ago!
The order I learned this stuff (almost backwards)... ride over it, drops, hops, lunges, track stand, back lift, front balance point, pivots, front lift, wheel placement, wheelies. Back balance point and back wheel hops I'm still working on.
I can see how that would work - it's a constantly expanding quiver of skills to ride higher and farther over obstacles. Doesn't necessarily build in a way that makes the next skill easier, but in terms of getting over more and more complicated obstacles, it's solid!
@@SuperRiderTV If you want to learn trials it makes a lot more sense to start from the basics. I started with road, then track, then fixed gear off road, years before mountain bikes existed. The hardest part for me is overcoming decades of contrary habit.
@sapinva i still have to overcome those habits on stuff where I roll backwards (front wheel especially) - my brain is wired to cancel out the movement! Haha
😮Nice
Thanks!
Ray have you lost some weight? You look incredible my guy I’m so proud of you
If you're trying to learn to wheelie on an ebike and having a hard time getting the front wheel off the ground, you might try removing the battery if you can. Most batteries are located in front of the cranks, mine is about 20lbs maybe more and it was really hard to wheelie with it in the bike at first.
Great call! I would be so curious to try wheelies on an ebike...definitely on my list for the next year!
Interesting guidance

Thank you!
Thanks for the tutorials, One question. Does the track stand still work if you are on a downward slope? I understand that it works on an upward slope because you can constantly use pedal movement forward and gravity to pull the bike backward. Would this still work if you are pointed on a downward slope? If you are making small forward and backward adjustments wouldn't that be harder to pull the bike backward on the downward slope or on rough terrain?
You’re absolutely right that it would be a lot harder to do it on a downhill slope. Not impossible - but a lot harder for all the reasons you listed. That said - once you have the basics locked in, you can absolutely get it done, since you’ll have better command of the unweighting and backpedaling motions.
Personally, I think for the exaggeration part act like your mad at someone and you will also feel that exaggeration too.
I'm really struggling with this since moving to a full suspension. The bike fits me so that's not the issue. I somehow keep losing my front pedal when I really try to lift the back wheel. Not sure what I'm doing wrong this time.
My front foot comes up occasionally when I go to lift my back wheel, I find that I'm focusing ALL of my attention on the back foot. Once you've got that pedal scoop wired in, start to balance the focus back out across both feet - but also know that even after years of doing this, I still occasionally slip up.

Other ways to practice that drop down wheel base jump
Is on a short curb
Curbs are awesome for practicing - highly recommended!
thanks! which frame is it?jackal?
Thanks for watching! This frame is a Chameleon
" without having to take any risks!" 0:51
too late! pedal bite into the shin....i've got 6 holes in my shin now and really bloody .😂😂😂
Shindig! Wear some football pads kids ones are best for your shins 👍
Does this technique apply to EMT as they are much heavier? Thanks
Definitely- you may have to move your balance point back a little further to offset the weight, but all of these skills are totally valid for eBikes. Have fun!
Thank you for your quick reply, awesome tutorial.
How do you move backwards while pedaling backwards?
My pedals just scroll and don't make the bike go backwards if you turn them backwards
1:17:12 dont you get snake bites as you tires need air?
First thing to learn on any bike is a wheelie. Everything else will just automatically happen over time but if you don't figure out wheelies all of it will be pointless.
Also true!
I came looking for gold but I found diamonds this is great content
That’s high praise, thank you so much!
How is the e-bike for riding?
These drills definitely apply to e-bikes as well - you may need to overexaggerate your unweighting a slight bit more than normal to counter the extra weight, but it's all still relevant and useful.
Thanks for the advice bro but at 46 I doubt I’m ever reaching your levels 😂 your bikes hotter than a night with Meghan fox tho ( I’d imagine )
Haha! Thanks! Even a little bit of these techniques will go a long way, definitely worth the effort to start small and test them out.
Can you share your information or only its model
It’s a Santa Cruz Chameleon
@@SuperRiderTV can you say this Santa cruz clameleon cost as well because I'm thinking to buy it Soo...
Bro what kind of SC bike is that ?
Chameleon (27.5 wheels)
How impossible is to learn these skills from 0 with a Kenevo Expert Ebike of 25kgs ?! XD I'll try and let u know
Here's a specific video about learning these same skills on an ebike. Hope this helps! czcams.com/video/VVO-jrw-glQ/video.html
let me guess: 1 to 3 thouthands hours to learn each of this skill?
great content. Really it is. But holy Moly. Take a break between sentences. Its alot
Thanks for the feedback, much appreciated!
Wanted to be a tiger.

The only skill I need is not to fall off my bike when I see a cute lady on the trail 😄🤘
The only skill truly worth having :)
🚵♀️
you talk a lot make me always fall asleep... -.- but still good pointers
🤷🏻♂️
No, it's a great video.
I just let you know...your first words made me stop your video... I don't want to be better than my friends... I wanna be better than myself. Each day a little bit more better. I am very glad to have friends that they ride so much better than me. So, Next... I am sure your tips are not interesting to me
Thanks for your feedback - please know that all my videos end with "share this with someone you ride with" and that the goal here is to help riders advance their bike handling skills. As someone who mostly rides alone, your though of self-improvement definitely resonates. I hope you reconsider and check out what I've got to offer here, it's all done in the hopes of helping people improve.
