    1. If being in a relationship or thinking about this person is stifling your walk with Christ.
    2. If your behaviours have become odd and negative due to your relationship with or thoughts of this person.
    3. If you are dependening on someone to be the strength of your heart.

I’m thankful for every relationship and lesson that has brought me closer to my Heavenly Father..I wish I had been smarter, stronger in my relationship with God, my faith and myself but such is life and the lessons we learn to solely look to him in all ways for everlasting life.. 💛

    Wow 😯, this is timely! Thank you Mark. I will speak to the Lord more through prayer on unresolved issues within my heart.
    I have repented from my sin of dating a single Christian male from church who said it was not considered living in sin to have sex outside of marriage.
    Mind you this was the first person I dated after being saved. He had pursued me relentlessly and I failed. 2 Sisters at the church have reached out to me and try to continue to make me feel welcome. They did explain that “not everyone who says they are Christian are actually obedient to the Lord.”
    However, even though I have made healthy choices and moved on, now it stirs disappointment within myself when I see him at church because he does not repent or see his behavior as causing another to stumble.
    I must pray to guard my heart from falling into sin but also from developing bitterness or resentment. I pray for healing through Jesus Christ ❤️‍🩹🙏.

    I needed this. Someone special has entered my life and the recent distance between us the past week and now this video has shown me I was investing too much and too quickly. I realize I need to go back to putting God first in my life and placing him in the center of the relationship.
    Also does guarding your heart mean that person isn't the one? And to end the relationship? or does it just mean taking a step back and not investing too much which can set up yourself and the relationship for failure?

    • @beccabean5770
      @beccabean5770 Před 2 lety +1

      I'm going through something similar. Taking a step back can be a good thing. By placing the relationship in God's hands to direct the pace. Guarding your heart is wise especially in the beginning. I would imagine it opens more over time as trust & the relationship is built. Keep seeking the Lord for every step, He will guide you.

    • @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger
      @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger  Před 2 lety +6

      It can mean anything like that. Ultimately it means using your heart wisely and not hurting yourself :) Even in good relationships we must guard hearts because can take a good thing too far and as too much it :)

    It’s crazy how God works through people!! Exactly what I needed 🙏🔥 I flirted to convert basically. Crossed lines with an unbeliever. She was going to come to church just for me but I wanted her to have a relationship with God more then one with me so we stopped talking. I felt I was going to be a stumbling block. Spent the last year healing and reflecting, Two days ago I met her at a church team meeting! I don’t know if I should just pursue her or pursue getting to know other more mature Christian relationships like I feel in my heart. Def need some guidance 😭🙏

    • @beccabean5770
      @beccabean5770 Před 2 lety +3

      Oh wow, that's a tough one. Building a friendship sounds like maybe a good place to start, then you can see her relationship with God while praying for direction either way. Nothing needs to be rushed.

    • @rico9955
      @rico9955 Před 2 lety +1

      @@beccabean5770 yea I agree, I’ve been thinking about it all day and honestly I keep getting the feeling that it’s best if we stay as just friends until I see that she is steadfast. If I’m really honest I feel scared that if I let her go I’ll never find anyone but I’m slowly starting to accept that I’d rather take that risk and wait for Gods timing because it would be better not to marry then marry someone who doesn’t put God first in their life.
      Edit: but then again I thought I was in a good place in my walk when I fooled myself into thinking I was strong enough to resist temptation.. a true walk with Jesus has ups and downs and we get to learn that we aren’t as strong as we think we are. A true walk doesn’t put feelings first but rather Jesus principles and applying Gods character to our everyday decisions. No one has a perfect walk with Christ but what is the mark of a genuine Christian that may just be struggling through sanctification? 🤔

    Wooow look @ God
    I've been processing the unhealthy relationships in my life. I've learned to do so many foolish things in my years of rebellion.
    Psalm 73 has recently been my go to passage... I feel seen by this passage when looking over my life! I've been thinking of getting it tattooed on my right forearm.
    "When my soul was embittered, when I was pricked in heart, I was brutish and ignorant; I was like a beast toward you.
    Nevertheless, I am continually with you; you hold my right hand. You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me to glory."
    God is so good. Thanks be to God! 🙌🏿🙌🏿🙌🏿

    How can I guard my heart ? Like God showed me who my wife is but I’m now in a waiting season but I think of her everyday. How can I stop it. Maybe I’m even idolizing her ?

    • @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger
      @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger  Před 2 lety +6

      Yes, sounds like an idol. If you are waiting for someone you don't know that well, that means you are infatuated with her as an idea. Not sure if that is your situation or not but be careful assuming you know who you will marry if you are not even dating her yet :)

    • @brianwestby1413
      @brianwestby1413 Před 2 lety +4

      In the same boat. I've heard of too many couples that believed God revealed their spouses and actually did get married to discount God doing this at least occasionally. I'm also in a long season of waiting and have had to repent of creating an idol of something that hasn't happened yet. It's hard for me to just keep turning it over to God and trusting that if it truly was Him speaking then it will for sure happen. Learning patience the only way..lol. God bless

    Jesus never guarded His Heart from matters of Love.He told us to guard our hearts from evil things that come out of the heart. If you have the mate of Father's choice after you ask Him to send your mate you will have no reason to fear because He will send His choice to you. He doesn't suggest trial or error. He want His pairs to be married and when He does it, you will marry.

    I love all of this & it’s super helpful to create this awareness, so thank you & God bless. One thing I find weird though, is when you refer to. God as a ‘person’ … 😂 …. Is God really a person ?

    • @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger
      @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger  Před 2 lety +1

      Yes :) God the Father is not a human person but he still is an individual with personhood. Jesus is literally a human person :) This is why the Bible refers to God the Holy Spirit has "he" and not "it". God bless!

  • @Felix-ke2ec

    • @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger

      It could mean that. It more so means you are just using your heart wisely and making sure you don't damage yourself. You still need to guard your heart even in good relationships as we can always take a good thing too far :)

    Do you have advice for when a new Godly relationship is undergoing frequent spiritual attack because satan wants to tear the two apart? That also is lack of peace. Thanks.

    • @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger
      @ApplyGodsWordcomMarkBallenger  Před 2 lety +3

      My main advice is to submit to God (James 4:7) and seek to honor him. But if there are a lot of problems early on and it's not projecting to be a healthy relationship, it could also just mean it's not a good fit. Fight through what you feel led to fight through, but if sin and hurt is occurring this is not a good sign that you should stay together. Satan can also tempt you to stay with the wrong person :)
