My mom and I were literally just talking about this topic. We were talking about the concept of positive masculinity. Just for context, I've always been a very voracious reader. There is a certain series of books that really resonates with my heart, and there are several male characters (one of whom I honestly don't like, but he's pivotal) who encapsulate the essence of "positive masculinity." There's one character in particular that is the epitome of this. There are only three prominent female characters, but the way that their story arcs enmesh with the guys throws into relief the fact that they embody positive masculinity. The women aren't damsels in distress, they are strong women who make their own choices and follow their hearts... the men respect their strength, but they also protect and fight for them in chivalry. The guys are strong enough to be vulnerable, to be kind, to have close bonds and be sensitive to people's feelings, but they also know how to fight and face battles bravely. Of course, I understand the difference between stories and our external world, but the guy who wrote this series was a devout Christian, and his characters reflect and embody Biblical ideals. That's why people derive comfort in reading... in stories, men know how to be brave, how to fight, how to be chivalrous, but they can be kind and loving. Women know how to be strong. There is hope in the ongoing strife between good and evil, and good guys win. Stories don't show us the ways things ARE... they represent the way things ought to be. We all long for something beyond the ordinary, beyond the status quo, don't we?

One interpretation of 1 Corinthians, is not a matter that women can never say anything in the church, but that she was barred from discussing her home and personal life in the church. If she needed to know something or needed guidance, she was encouraged to ask her husband at home. By doing this, Paul put the man back in order as the head of the woman.

Thank you for this message! You reminded me that my grandfather was gentle. He was a gentleman working in the HR department of a plant. And even though everyone knew he was married, the women were all over him! He fought them off gently for forty years at his job! That's just the way he was. He smoked, but also knitted. He liked to play the guitar at corporate picnics and gave a speech at gatherings, but he also cooked for the family and had a hobby of writing novellas with his wife Natalie as the main character. He published them, too! My mom didn't read them, but I got my interest in writing from him. He was the only gentleman I knew this well. God bless these gentle creatures!

I'm Christian man and I can say that there are women who like gentle men. Even in gen z but it is getting rare these days because of social media.

I’m longing for a miracle from The Lord. I’ve never went on a mission trip nor could I ever afforded to help the poor, I do what I can when ever I can. However my heart is longing for something from The Lord more than what a standard income can provide. I wish to go on a mission trip and be with the least of these, and cover their sores and pray for them. Maybe I’m arrogant and prideful, but I am holding out for the blessing. I don’t want wealth or nicer things but I do badly need a place to live. So, this miracle, plus a wife and a ministry. All of what God has for me. I just want to obey Him. I need his help.

Great video! The saying, "if he wanted to, he would" is not always true. I met a guy who took things slow, and took a while to admit his feelings. He was reserved and gentle with me. My loved ones told me that he wasn't interested, or that he was playing me. It turned out that he just wasn't good at communication, which he apologized for and is now trying to get better at. We're going on a date soon, and I'm so incredibly grateful for this "gentle" man.

Mark you advised in this video not to go into marriage with a me centred attitude. But I have seen in real life that those who marry for their own personal happiness actually get what they want because they know what to get and how to get it. They are the happiest. As for honouring the Lord together as a couple in marriage .... Well. .... Personally I feel that is a great myth. I am yet to see even so called Spiritual Christians want to honour the Lord in marriage. People who want to honour the Lord in marriage actually are motivated to seek God 's worldly blessings. Nothing wrong with that. But people wanting to marry to honour the Lord is an idealistic perfectionist and an unrealistic perception of marriage. I am yet to come across even so called Spiritual Christians who are married with that kind of motivation.

Alot of women will be judgmental because my dad is supporting me financially while I get back on my feet. I don't want these women unless they genuinely repent.

To be honest as a single 28 yr old man I can truly say I possess these qualities and I recently ( 12 weeks ago ) gained a deeper understanding of the last point and I'm glad that I am being able to be humble and know where I'm at. That being said that doesn't mean as a man I can't keep maturing my character.

Mark is one of my favorite relationship coaches. Always on point. I wish he'd shave off the fangs. See a dentist. It would take 2 minutes.

God let my insecurities of being alone bring me closer to him.

This happened to me about a month ago. I wept and had enough and turned to God and after that it felt like ”something had died in me”, in a good way. I now see so clearly that what had been my issue - A Peter Pan syndrome, I have been a man-child, immature in many ways and now I can see and admit it without any kind of shame, regret or other blames. I don’t feel same anymore, I can easily just be without being overly talkative with others and just without going too emotional in situations. I feel like I am no more a slave of my emotions, I can just accept reality without blaming others when things don’t go as I hoped. Maybe I finally grew to be a man instead of a boy 🙏 I am now 39, almost 40 so sometimes it takes time but it is totally worth the pain of growing. Truth makes us free on this also.
