👋 As a Red Sox fan, John broadcast some of my ongoing nightmares. But also some of my greatest baseball moments. And on those occassions he did it with professionalism and class. John is a great play by play pro, and not just in baseball as the voice of the Yankees. John's call for the Hawk's of Lary Bird's 60 point night still give me chills. Here is to a retirement well earned!!

As a kid in 2003, when my parents cancelled the cable plan in which forbidden me to watch Yes network, I had to tune in to the radio network called WCBS just to listen to the Yankee games and how they were playing. The way John called the games, he brought us with so much positivity and enjoyment whether they win or lose. Enjoy the retirement and well deserved ❤️👏👏.

And I'm going to miss your voice, you will be one of the truly blessed Yankees that have ever graced the game. So I can at least tell you John that you are one of the greatest broadcasters since Vin Scully started doing it back in 1951, what you been doing these games now for 35 wonderful years and may you live another 35 years all the way up until you see the Lord Jesus Christ when you will be broadcasting for him! And that catchphrase of yours whenever you see a home run which happens to be IT IS HIGH, IT IS FAR, IT IS GONE! May we remember that voice for as long as we live.

John has the best voice for radio, always easy to listen to. He's also a natural talker, did talk radio before doing play by play. In a 2 person radio booth that's what you need. Most guys in radio booths today are exact opposite of John, thus I can't listen. They're cookie cutter, chirpy, scared to death they'll have to respond to conversation in the booth. They're not natural talkers.
