When micheal kay did stanton’s call on john’s bday that was such a peak but funny moment. congrats on retiring john, i miss hearing you on the radio already.
Kay is a jerk.
There will never be another broadcaster quite like John Sterling. The man made radio exciting and intense enough to make you feel like you were actually at the game. Thank you John. Happy Retirement!
I'm a Mets fan, why's this making me cry? Farewell Mr. Sterling, you were one of the voices that made me love baseball and your unique turns of phrase and clear love of the game and the Yankees will be sorely missed.
U forgot Sterling n Steiner doin “Theeeeeeeee Yankees win!”
His Yankees win call concluding the 1999 World Series is the best he has ever called.
I remember my friend and teammate on my softball team said he wanted to hurry home and listen to the Yankee game because of the funniest cool announcers was calling the games . When he started in 1989 . One of best we’ve had here because of his style and iconic calls . Definitely will be missed !!
John had a Sterling career!
“Ballgame over! Yankees win! THEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!!!” 💙
Thank you John for all the historical calls over the years. You’ll be missed.
"It's Gleyber Day!"
"Giancarlo, non si puo stoparlo!"
"It's a Judgeon blast. All rise, here comes the judge."
I'm a new baseball fan and only started watching in 2022 and these are some of my favorite calls. He really made the players stand out and gave them personalities. Legend of the franchise in my opinion.
I love Sterling. Hate the Stanton Call. To me, dumb.
15:40 Both announcers say: IT IS HIGH IT IS FAR AND GONE!,
such an awesome Home run call !
That's when I turn down the sound...the clown often gets it wrong anyway. Tried to make himself bigger than the game
Sterling will be missed. congrats to a legend 🫡
I was delighted that the clown sterling is out. Now I can listen to Yankee games in the car---we still have to get rid of the annoying yenta--- waldman.
Hard to believe the Yankees last won in 2009 and wasn't close to World Series since,J Sterling was alive to see the dominate late 1990s dyntasty teams
2:50 This guy rolled over the team XD
Greatest announcer in the history of baseball GOAT. Idk what we are going to do without you thank you Sterling
He’s nowhere close to the greatest not even too 100.
Vin Scully would like a word
His best call was his Stanton bomb call when it was an off the wall single against Boston in the Wild Card 😂😂
Stanton on first base what did i see wrong
This is why hes my favorite announcer
Thank you John for all you’ve done for Yankees fans! Your voice will be missed on the radio😢💙
All those years watching John with the Braves, i never dreamed he would be a Yankee legend......
The best part of this segment is Rick Camps HR. It was the 18th inning but the game was delayed a couple of times due to rain so it was about 3 or 4 in the morning. Even the Atlanta fans just wanted Rick to strikeout. It was also July 4th and once the game was over they were promised fireworks so around 5am they set off the fireworks. People in the neighborhood were woken up by these blasts that they called the police thinking the town was being invaded. “Wacky” was the perfect word for this game.
Loved him when he was with the Braves. Hard to believe it's been 33 years since he left the ATL...
The single greatest sports broadcaster of my lifetime. Without a doubt. Whether you're a diehard Yankees fan, or like me, just a casual viewer of baseball, you know intuitively that there will never be another John Sterling. The wit, humor, and passion which he brought to so many lives will never be replicated.
Nobody did it better
I’m gonna miss him so much 😭😭
Not for a second--could not listen to the games with his over enunciation, corny nicknames, and obnoxious banter with that woman.
It's funny I remember watching on tv when judge hit number 60 and as he was coming up I said "he's hitting it out" and what do you know he does Yankees came back to win that game too 😂 was at i think a game or two before he broke it and they played the orioles every time he came up every pitch thrown to him the whole stadium went quiet just shows you how great baseball is
2:35 - Ke'Bryan's daddy makes the final out
Amazing. So many great moments. 😅
It is high!!
It is far!!
It is gone!!
Goodbye John~ Thank You John~
Thank you for the sweet memories legend!🙌🏽 Yankees win! Thaaaaaaaaaaa Yankees Win!
Thank You John Sterling And I Wish You The Best In Your Future Enjoy Your Retirement
He had a STERLING career! THEEEEE YANKEES WIN! Miss you John
I dont think he was one of the greats but i think he got major push being voice of the Yankees. He was an aquired taste so to speak bcuz i actually liked him and thought he did really good job in all the playoff moments.
John Sterling was awesome calling Braves games on TBS...That Camp Homer was insane, it was 3am in the morning and I lost it going crazy seeing it live on TBS
They had to throw in John getting hit with a foul ball.. did him dirty lol
My fave HR call was always Jorgie juiced one. My fave as a kid enjoying the late 90s Yanks dynasty.
The A-Rod game tying 2 Run HR in GM 2 2009 ALDS was also excellent.
Making 4:3 format video into 16:9 is an abomination.
Great announcer
Nothing like ruining his best calls with a nice ad right in the middle
Michael kay and John Sterling called a game together 15:39
Woa, I certainly feel the pitch clock impact when having to revisit clips of baseball prior 2023. 😆
Enjoy the retirement, good Sir!
I missed about half of those calls 'cause I was there IRL.
imho he’s better than Vin Scully. My favorite call is the Giancarlo one!
Estamos activo!!
It is high, It is far, It is gone
Theeeee~ Yankees~ Win
He was terrific in his heyday, but like most stars, didn't know when to hang it up. Such an abrupt retirement.
“ There it goes , it is deep it is high, it’s GONEEE . Out of the ballpark. A Stantonian blast . Out of the ballpark! ……. Now what did I do wrong? What did I see wrong?”
BALLGAME OVER.
WORLD SERIES OVER.
YANKEES WIN.
THEEEEE
YANKEES
WIN!
Rest in peace John Sterling!
He's still alive
BALLGAME OVER!
YANKEES WIN!
THEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE YANKEES WIN!!!!!!!!!!!
Most annoying voice in sports behind Joe Buck. Even then, I hope he enjoys his retirement
His voice was his best feature. His missed calls and dopey sayings were annoying.
No good calls as far as I'm concerned---obnoxious/annoying
A Sure bet for the Hall of Fame!
