I first encountered the sight of a Harrier in the 70's. The USMC had taken delivery of original design Harriers - US Designation AV-8A. Growing up less than 20 miles from Marine Corps Base Quantico, we got to see all kinds of aircraft zipping around the skies of Stafford County, VA. There were several rural back roads that ran along/near the perimeter of MCB Quantico, and it was not uncommon in the late 70's to see a Harrier or two training with Marine Ground forces. Either zipping through at high-speed, or.... hovering in the trees waiting for it's prey. All us young boys truly believed it was a 'secret new aircraft' and that it could fly into outer space and shoot down alien space invaders too!! 😅Was really something to finally get to see one up close and even look into the cockpit years later, in the Navy on a ship carrying Marines and occasionally... a Harrier or two. Great video!!!😎
I saw Harrier in Kauhava Finland in 90s and I was amazed, never seen anything like that, hoovering there. The Harrier had a rough landing and I'm sure that it was not meant to be so rough, but the fighter took it like a champ
I was once sat in standing traffic on the A-491 adjacent to the Spanish Navy airbase at Rota, really hot day. And 6 maybe 8 AV8s returned to the base. What a fantastic sight, arrived line astern and turned base leg right over us. Everyone was out their cars watching.
I think so, but must be affected. Think they've got much better thrust control with the new F35 system. The harrier was amazing for its time of design though
The Harrier can do things faster than the F-35B. It is more stable than the F-35B. The Harrier is more flexible than the F-35B which is very similar to the Jak-41 or JAK-141 in its set to be. The Harrier is a good aircraft. But a sea harrier with a stronger engine and longer flight range makes it dangerous as a hunting and attack plane.

Been my favorite jet ever since I watched True Lies in the theater
Great footage of one of the best 👌
Thanks. Plenty more to come!
Great work Bob,
Thank you 🛬🛫
Thanks. lots more to come!
I agree
Imagine flying in 1, quite exciting actually. Iworked on them 76-80 in the RAF
I wonder how well the Harrier would hover in windy conditions? Can it? It is absolutely stunning how it can hover to begin with!

*Beautiful*
Nice video thank you!👍

スペシャルマーキングが

One of those Planes i would say the Design is pretty masculin!😅💪
Great looking the Harrier, especially from the head on perspective
