Nobody seems to talk about how creative are Ashleigh's performances. She is not just a dog trainer. The choreography, the music, the costumes, are great.
the level of training this dog has got is just incredible - watch some of his agility videos, he's amazing, and she had at least 4 new tricks in this routine. she totally deserved to win!
Thats one of the reasons I love this act. She is definitely showing how amazing dogs can really be. Theyre not useless things that take up space, theyre amazing, and theyre here for a reason.

Okay can we all put aside our love for the singing acts and appreciate how hard Ashley must've worked? Trick training is hard enough with animals, but they make it exponentially harder with the timing and the gymnastics that Ashley has to do too. Just think about how hard it is to potty train a dog, let alone teach it to do all of this!! As much as I do love the singing acts (really, I love them so much) I still think that we shouldn't undermine Ashley by comparing them. Singing and dog training are two totally different and incomparable things!
The reason they're so popular, aside from the quality of the routines, is that Ashleigh is incredibly sweet, and you can tell she ADORES her dog.
Did anyone else notice Simon unbutton his shirt after the performance?

OMG, pudsey is the most adorable dog I have ever see! (apart from my own) and I find it incredible how she can make a dog do those kind of things! It takes real love, energy and dedication!
Those who respond negatively cannot understand the tremendous connection that some people have with their dog. It is real folks! they can really enrich your life!!!! Truly I know!!!
Absolutely stunning. Ashleigh is beautiful, the dog's cute, the act's perfection; best BGT act that's ever been in my opinion. Love it.
the level of Jonathan and Charlotte's voice is just amazing, and the back story og Jonathan was hard. and how protective Charlotte have been to him is amazing, i've never felt chills like that when jonathan sings. just one word describe everything, incredible. the dog thing is cute, i get that but i dont get the feeling that they deserved to win more than Jonathan and Charlotte. i really hope that Jonathan becomes a great star.

Ive done both sing and listen to opera and have trained 4 dogs and a ferret, dont assume the reason people dislike things is because of ignorance or envy.

I wish people would stop comparing A&P to J&C! Seriously, you cannot compare a dog act to a singing act, they are two completely different styles of media and entertainment.
For a dog act, Ashley and Pudsey did phenomanol, and while maybe Jonathon and Charlotte could make your skin crawl with chills, or their voices were obviously amazing, there was always an element of one-sided-ness to them. Jonathon always overshadowed Charlotte, and ironically, the winning duo were perfect together.
Jonathon and Charlotte got recording contracts regardless, despite the split, Ashley and Pudsey would never have gotten a chance like this again, considering the outlandish act.

It's amazing how she trained Pudsey & she's not even a professional animal trainer. Brilliant!
actually, learning these "acts" deepens the bond between animal and human. It takes trust and motivation (love, food, attention...) for the dog to do what a human asks it to do. I'm not entirely sure what you think "being a dog" means, but listening and carrying out commands in exchange for food, shelter, and love is what they were bred to do since thousands of years ago.
They really worth to win!!!
Opera voice is a natural gift,,,but to perform with a dog such coregraphy ,it is fantastic!

+Whocares Opera voice a natural gift? to sign opera you need to train your body to do many unnatural things (sign with diaphragm, relax throat and face muscles in the most difficult notes, etc) plus develop many other skills like a good ear for music. It takes a lot of effort and believe me no one is born with it.
+Andres Roaro Any training without to posses a natural gift (vocal cords) it is not possible!!!
To perfect in time your voice,a style ,the vocal tehnic, it is other storry!
He sang with his natural gift,,,,as many ppl unknown in this world that sing fantastic although they never studied with a teacher!!!!
Are more details in learning recognized one of the greatest teacher of opera canto ,.Jeannine Reiss, who worked with Callas and others great opera singers!

Are persons who study music many years ,and they have not the same good musical ear as somebody without study or even conservator!Available in any other art-domain!

It is not X-Factor, it is a talent show. For every kind of talent, for entertainment. We got a lot of singing and dancing already. This is something new. I think that for once the show actually followed it's character.

Shut up everyone saying this is 'terrible'. It is not easy training a dog, definitely training a dog to dance, it takes time and let's see you do it. I am proud that they won. The time spent on practising on this is amazing. To the haters, let's see you get a dog and perform.

Best BGT winners EVER!! Ashleigh is an exceptional young woman, supertalented and kindhearted, and the love between her and Pudsey is absolutely extraordinary. Pudsey is a true wonderdog; I have never seen a dog that can do what he does. Both of them are going to be major stars all over the world. BIG congrats to Ashleigh and Pudsey, and great job, Britain!!

To all you guys who are hating on Ashley and Pudsey! Saying how its just a dog act and how Jonathon and Charlotte should have won, your totally missing the point. Although they are brilliant singers there are just to many opera singers who apply, and to many opera singers who are famous but there is such a little amount of dog acts about. Have you tried to teach a dog to do an act like that? Its fucking hard, and its not just that, like the judges said to all those sick people who abuse their dogs ashley and pudsey are giving great examples of how dogs are so amazing and talented. I could name hundreds of opera singers but i literally only know of two great dog acts, opera singers are boring and common so if your disapointed by them winning just dont watch them in the first place simple as...

I think people are underestimating how much work Ashleigh has put into Pudsey and how special their act really is. And it IS a wake-up call for people who still buy the "animals are dumb" crap (and treat them accordingly). It was a great and unique act and I'm glad they won.

I don't get why people judge this act for winning, I mean they trained just as hard as anyone else so why shouldn't they have the same chance to win like everyone else? Ashleigh and Pudsy are really good, stop putting them down. Seriously.
I love all the comments here asking how this won, when this act got the highest voting percentage (39.0%) of any winning act (well, since Series 3 when they started to release the numbers). For comparison, Jonathan and Charlotte got 25.8% of the votes, so it's not like this barely edged them out.

Totally agree with u. Britains got talent was created so that non-singers would have a chance for fame and success. Its hard to compare two completely different talents (singing and a dancing dog) and the best way to compare would be the amount of improvement and originality that each act displays.

I came here after stumbling upon the beautiful duo Jonathan and Charlotte and HAD to see what beat them out of the finals... and I can actually say that I was absolutely SHOCKED!!! What is wrong with Britain!?!? Jeeez!!!

any dog with the right motivation and the right environment matched with the right owner can get there. Obviously some do better than others, but any dog is capable. I've got a smart animal myself, but it's on my own head that I haven't the patience to do what Ashleigh can do, even though I know full well my dog can do what Pudsey can.
