  • This is the eighth video of a step-by-step blog and video tour of Brandon Neice's recent book “The Metal Detecting Bible: Helpful Tips, Expert Tricks and Insider Secrets for Finding Hidden Treasures”.
Brandon provides some tips on how to clean metal detecting finds: "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while. Hopefully, by now, your odds are better than that of our sightless, furry friend. Whether you’re a collector or a seller, it’s important to know when it’s appropriate to clean your finds, how to clean them, and how to preserve them"

I am not picking on the maker of this video. I just picked this one to make my point. I researched roughly a dozen ways to properly clean your coins found during metal detecting. Everyone contradicts everyone else. Who are you suppose to believe.

Hi to Minelab Metal Detectors! This is one of the the coolest channels I have ever visited that I've subed and gave it a liked.
I have ordered a Garrett Ace 250 Metal Detector model kit plus ordered some of the extras to go along with it. I know I'm really gonna love it. So I went out with my dowsing rods that I made out of two coat hanger wires and glued two plastic screw anchors at the long pointing ends and two half cut straws for the rods to move freely and they impressed me.

Thank you! I know I will. I notice that I accidentally typed in 250 instead of, the (300) model. Oh yeah big guy. ;) A song verse by ZZ Top. "You've must been down, in my Texas town" to that ?______? Haw haw haw haw... Yea, haw haw haw. ;)

Great video, I recently found at the beach 2 1930s brass lipsticks in good condition, in the same hole was a diamond ring, my Equinox is saying its silver. But its really crusty, the stone looks good. Any idea how to clean it, or to far gone? Thanks

Lemon Juice is also a great way to clean your silver coins..... Just soak the silver coins in lemon juice for an hour or 2 and give a light rub when you remove it and they come up a treat.... Dont forget to wash the juice off when you are happy with the clean.

I keep reading that A&H Washing Soda is better than A&H Baking Soda for this. Have you tried that?

So carbon works better than stainless steel spoon? Safer where does someone get a piece of carbon from?

It's an electric motor brush. Used on DC motors to make contact with the armature. Check an electric motor rewind shop, they discard the old ones when they rebuild motors for their customers.
