- Hey Guys, I thought it would be a good challenge to try to 3d scan then print the front part of this Plane that was given to us. as i plan on trying to make a full 3d printed plane in the future. The video got quite got long so i split it up tin to 2 parts!
Thanks to Saul and Jason for the gift!
In the next video we finish the work and we get this thing in the air! But... dose it fly?

Pretty good , that's better than the original.
3D Printing a negative mold and then filling it with some kind of expanding foam could do the trick.
I've came on your channel for 3d printing videos, and now it's back. Yay!
My parrot do not sits quiet like Yours. IT helps me a lot especialy when soldering station is on. She always arguing with that tool. :)) Nice video of teaching and learning. :)
;) ~Russ
Quite the process .. your kids are learning sooooo much !!! That's worth the repairs in educational factors !! So cool .. that battery needs to be moved way forward to maintain your CG.

That battery needs to get forward more!! I've got one ... Ed
100% correct. except i added about a battery worth of plastic in the front. :) so to get the CG correct on this "new" model. we had to move it back. we do all the CG stuff in part 2! ~Russ
Cool fix Russ. I'm starting to work with Sketchup 8, importing stl files into Sketchup 8. Then I can fix them and change them the way I what.
Thanks. Yeah I used sketchup for quite some time. But finally moved to fusion 360. Much better but sketchup still works! Cheers. ~Russ
inav is setup and ready
blender is the better option, you can learn to retopologize manipulating vertices independently or in groups and or sculpt. basically you would take that rough scan into blender set it on the origin and then draw out a surface model over the scanned data, mirror over origin. then enthicken it.
you have to try blender for modeling. it has a more artiste approach but blender units can be changes to real world units ... there is a great youtube or 2 that can help you set blender up to work well for 3d printing to real scale. there are literally 1000's of how 2's for blender on you tube
i had to fix my front end i used gorilla glue white foaming. and i disconnected the front wheel from the servo and glued it straight so i stops breaking servos
Any chance you’d want to share the product file of this?
ask and you shall receive... Blessings, ~Russ grabcad.com/library/aeroscout-front-end-1
