I self-made a pillow from sand, but i did attempt to dig myself a grave within the sand to sleep in, but as you will see, that plan went wrong FAST.

Dont underestimate that space blanket. It saved my friends life maybe 30 years ago. He ran out of gas from his car at -25 c° in Finnish lapland. Took me 1,5 hours to drive there in the midlle of the night in the midlle of no where. It really keeps you a live. Not fun, but alive 😊

A minimalist beach camp loadout: a mylar blanket to trap the condensation, salted fried onion rings to promote thirst and cause acid reflux, and a bottle of water to empty and to pee in.🙂😊😇

I used to beach camp on the shores of Lake Superior, beautiful sunsets. You've stoked my interest in trying it here, it's just the number of people around and the early-morning dog walkers that has prevented me so far.

If you’re cold & wet and it’s blowing a hoolie, then the space blanket stops the wind from stripping away what body heat you have left. I reckon that the space blanket between your sleeping bag & an old school roll mat would stop you losing heat through the ground. Someone needs to come up with a Mylar ‘space hoodie’ to wear over your base layer but under a jacket🤔🤔🤔👍. I keep the big reflective bubble-wrap postal envelopes- they make an awesome sit-pad for when it’s cold.

Dan you would have been more comfortable in that long grass 30 feet behind where you were sat. I might have suggested this to you before, you should get hold of a copy of Ray Mears' Outdoor Survival Handbook. Or alternatively, the SAS Survival Handbook.These will give you loads of ideas for videos for the channel.
You really should be better equipped with your EDC's too. In my man bag I have a decent multi tool, a lighter, a fire steel, a small LED torch and spare batteries, some fishing line, hooks, floats etc in a small coin bag. Plus a few other things.
These items are invaluable no matter what your situation is. I have everything I need to keep me alive in an emergency.

Done this many a time mate whilst travellin the country on me tod (with a bit of money in me pocket) it is in theory "roughin it" but it's an experience.....fair play! I did it once with one of them foil blankets in the winter last year in Taunton, I was froze 😂😂😂.....enjoy mate. Good vid as always! 👍

I was at Reighton myself recently, I walked my dogs on the beach early around 6 am - they decided to climb the cliffs and disappeared, I had no choice but to follow them. I thought I had lost them. I struggled to get up but climbed onto a ridge you can’t see from the beach . I found my dogs and two wild campers. When I saw you on this bit of beach I honestly thought it was you that my dogs disturbed,camping on the cliffs. Me shouting and my dogs woke the poor sods up very early that morning. Those campers found the perfect pitch for a wild camp and no one would know they were there. I love this bit of Britain! I have only just found your channel and am enjoying your content. I wish I had the balls to do this . Thanks for taking us with you - .

Contemplations about the potability of sea water is not 'overthinking', but practical thinking, afaic. There are many distillation methods for turning salt water into drinking water. Actually it would be interesting to test, or construct, a distillation device for camping ( hint hint ) 😁

The sand bag idea was good but there wasn't any dry sand . There was some grass and stuff it in a material bag or use spare clothes .

Hi Jeff nice of you to camp out with Dan. I’ve used space blankets on occasion. They’re helpful. Always carry on in my pack can be used in many ways
I wild camped on the SW coast path a while back. Next day really itchy eyes and rash on my body. The sand flies (no see-ums as you cannot see them!!) had bitten me bad. Ended up seeing an eye consultant who said it can be serious but although my eyelids had been bitten, I had not got infected. Get your eyes checked if the swelling remains.

Hi Dan we have the same concrete blocks near spurn point and down the coast just south of scarborough. Theyre anti landing boat defences from ww2 down our end.
