    My first flight on a 747 was in 1971, from Chicago to LA. The passenger compartment of the 747 was configured very differently from today's plane. It was an American Airlines flight and the upper deck was a cocktail lounge with a sofa and seats. The main rear passenger compartment was a bar area; an actual bar, bar seats, plus lounge seats, all secured and you won't believe it, a concert grand piano secured to the deck and with a lounge-type piano player. Seriously.

    The seating arrangement does not seem to provide much privacy given that you have another passenger opposite you whose face you see. This means you can perfectly well see him sleep, snore, pick his nose or yawn during such a long flight. Then again, he can also not only hear you burp, and if he keeps his eyes open, he can actually see you do so!

    I'm sure premium, business and first are lovely. I just took this flight last week and economy is not so good. On return trip, seat 50A that I was in had no access to IFE, the headphone socket was broken. The screens are also very old and tiny. I really wanted to enjoy this flight being from the UK I wanted to be able to praise BA but it seems they're flying an old plane and not investing in upgrading it to modern standards. That said, cabin crew were lovely and helpful. I don't want to see the end of 747s but please update the facilities if you're going to continue to use them.

      Thank you Brendan for watching and commenting. This is the only direct flight to Europe from Arizona so it is always very busy. You can raise the privacy divider form the moment you sit on your seat. It is only during the safety video where you have to have it down which is only a couple or so minutes. There is still plenty of room for improvement in this product, there will be a brand new Club World cabin in 2019 where all seats will have direct aisle access. I personally want more personal space and storage areas when side compartments are not available such as on the 777/787/main deck Club World cabins.

    Did this flight take place in 2016? G-BNLV has been WFU and stored since last year. It is waiting to be scrapped.

      Yes this flight was in 2016.Noticed I had '17' in the description which I have now changed

  • @waldemarmoskalecki7891

    Bad thing about this flight is that it arrives at LHR T3, and it takes long time to get to T5 from there

    • @ZuhairFarouk
      @ZuhairFarouk  Před 7 lety

      It is a bit of an inconvenience but you get an air-side bus ride to T5 which takes 5 minutes so it's not bad.

      Yeah, so annoying having to switch terminals. Its not that bad though, you get a nice backstage tour of the airport.

      YourFavorite3Some Flight was completely full. During summer, BA had two daily 747’s operating the PHX route due to demand

    How they allowed you to shoot that video when going in to the plane? I was told to stop the shooting immediately as I entered the plane with camera rolling. The reason was that it is not allowed to film other people in aeroplane.

      I did not as I am a Gold member with British Airways so lounge access was free
