Outstanding house, better to try this at home, in the store we cannot smell the elegant complexity they have. Got a sample of this one and it's on my to buy list, amazing quality, elegance, sophistication

Great review! This house is in my TOP15 list of niche brands, I've tried almost all from currently available scents, and there is no single one which is not at least very good and most of them are top notch or masterpieces. I have 4 in my collection and it is just a beginning. They have also excellent quality travel sprays (15 ml), which are really affordable option, and if you have hundreds scents in your collection, you do not need nothing bigger ;-)

I don't think they are doing the 15 ml anymore, its not on their website. They seem to be giving away 15 mls with a purchase of a 250 ml Flacon though.
@@SmellsGoodfragrancereviews You are right, small correction, this travel sprays are not available as single items, but they have 4 sets 1) 3 x Patchouli Intense 2) 1 x Rose Royale, 1 x Rose Pivoine, 1 x Fig Tea 3) 1 x New York Intense, 1 x Musc Intense, 1x Patchouli Intense 4) 1 x Incense Oud, 1 x Amber Oud, 1 x Rose Oud, so you can buy 9 scents in travel sprays, they are still available at least through polish perfumery which is their official retailer. I have New York Intense, Musc Intense, Patchouli Intense and Cuir Cuba Intense, but there are many other masterpieces like Cap Neroli, Fig Tea, whole oud scents trio is great, Eau d'Ete and incredibly expensive and incredibly amazing Oud Sublime. BTW, I like Guerlain house, but when I heard the story, how they rejected Patricia's application for master perfumer position of this house, because she is a women, I was shocked.

I love Nicolai! I have 250ml bottle of Patchouli Intense (brilliant citrus-patchouli) and 100ml of New York Intense (want to get the 250ml bottle of this too very soon). Also have a 30ml or Cuir Cuba Intense and still not made up my mind if I like it enough to go for a 100ml bottle yet. Pretty nice but do I want more...
I have a 30ml of L’Eau Mixte on the way for summers...will see how that works out.
Planning to get this Ambre Cashmere Intense 30ml also...I love the structure of Shalimar and Nicolai makes some amazing Frags.
Sad that this house does not get more limelight.
P.S. would love to see a review of Nicolai Fig-Tea. Your reviews are awesome unlike others who just parrot the notes from Fragrantica and copy paste what every other reviewers are saying.
I just got the discover set as well - after reading reviews from Luca Turin (Perfunes Guide 2018) - the quality is outstanding! I plan on buying more from this house

I haven't smelled Shalimar but the sample I have of this fragrance is INCREDIBLE! This juice is VERY strong but the Patchouli Intense....NUCLEAR!! The Patchouli is so strong that I actually avoid it for now! LOL Great review A.C.! Thank you for showing this house love!

Thanks Nigel, New York Intense is the most hyped from the house and to be honest mate, i wasn't impressed at all.... its been done before in many forms in the 80s Chypres, same with patchouli Intense. This one is on a different pedestal all together.
True ;-) This is the Bois du Portugal killer IMO, and to be a killer of a masterpiece it means something ;-)
You know I do not see the resemblance to BdP , to my nose its closer to Equipage than BdP. The oakmoss in NYI is so sharp it barely resembles BdP. If my memory serves right theres hardly any oakmoss in BdP.
Heres another point, if you are going to make a killer copy then why sell it for 1-2 GBP/ ml.. that game is done, leave it to the Dua and Alexandrias. If I had so much talent I would create something unique TBH.
@@SmellsGoodfragrancereviews I was not precise, sorry for that, I mean that I prefer NYI than BdP for certain type of occasions when I've previously used to use BdP or Italian Cypress by TF (important formal day/office events), but I like strong scents, maybe this is the reason. I haven't compare NYI with BdP hand to hand, but in terms of usage for this type of occasions NYI killed my BdP ;-)
Love this house! Top notch breakdown of the scent. I see it more as lemon cupcake although i don't get an obvious sandalwood (which others seem to get). And loads of cashmeran too (i guess that's why its called cashmere haha)
Hahaha, i do not get any cashmere but the feel of the scent is Silky. I adore the warmth and brightness of this scent :).

Very impressed with your channel, btw. I'm rather late to the game of fragrance reviews, just never took the time as I was developing my nose. Now I find it fun to hear what others have to say about perfumes I already love, and am finding a select number of folks I pay attention to in terms of perfumes I've not yet tried...and that list us vast.

Yeah she is :). I have also sampled NYI and I didn't like it that much because it reminds me of a lot of fragrances from the 80s. I will review it soon though.

Very different fragrances in my opinion.
