Why didn't you use the summer waves skimmer I have the same set up but use the skimmer on the pool housing filter even though I have the same pump .

I have the 1500 gph pump and with the skimmer hooked up it's not getting enough water in it but without it it works fine. Any suggestions?

I think maybe you have to change the filter. Not too sure though.

Thanks for the video! I upgraded my pump as well, however, the suction is not working well from the old summerwaves pump to the intex. When I first turned it on, the suction was great, now there is just a trickle of water going back into the pool. I took the inner parts of the summerwaves pump out so that water will flow to the intex by the way. Any idea on what could be wrong with the suction?

Crystal Dixon I just ran into this problem. Try changing the filter if you have a spare handy. If not, clean out the filter in the new pump and reapply it. That worked for me!

Thanks for the video, I have the 14/42 in pool I just upgraded to a intex pump it’s a 1500 per gallon not the 2500 gallon like yours , do you think I will have good results ?!? Thank you

I think that you should still have good results. Proper maintenance on the water and the pump and filter should do you just fine!

Did you have to remove the motor part if the summerwaves original filter motor? Or did you just leave it intact?

I have the same set up and left it in or you can buy a bottom cover for that pump on Amazon you need the motor or the adapter or else the water will com out
