    I have bought a pair, and I gotta say, I'm hearing parts of familiar songs for the first time very clear now. If only they have a replacement cable for these with a mic. I'd never ever take them out of my pocket if i ever find that. I know they are designed for professionals and using a mic isn't intended but they are so good I want to use them always.

    Just got these today. I’ve had a few really nice IEMs, including Campfire Andromeda, ultimate ears, some customs and multi driver BA ones. These sound really nice. A lot of detail, clarity and balance. Put some Spinfit tips on and I love these. I’ll be using them for live monitoring this weekend and that will be the ultimate test. If these are this good, I’m wondering how good the IE 400 and 500 must sound. Have them on a burn in track now (just in case). I certainly recommend these.

    pros: wide soundstage, sparkling highs. cons: very recessed and thin mid range, too much of v sounding, cable wears easily in excess daily use. tuned them by using third party tips (final audio type e) been using them for two years now and i think they are ok for the price

  • @ropodope
    @ropodope Před 5 lety +3

    they sound fantastic. blown away by the natural and neutral sound quality. the seal fit in your ear is effortless and they stay locked in the most fantastic way. you can actually feel the bass being delivered as well as hear all of the nuances in the mid, upper mid and there is no sibilance at all even at the loudest levels. basically everything Sennheiser says about these is true. i have Audiofly AF-180's which are great and cost $499 and i'm telling now these are better, especially for a live stage vocalist application. i cannot recommend these highly enough. if you don't get this complete redesign of a single dynamic driver then you are most assuredly missing the boat. the separation and isolation are incredible.

      Hi, Chris, in terms of sound signature and tonal balance, How do you compare this with the shure se215? I like the 215's sound signature because its similar to the warm Sennheiser house sound. I love the mids presentation of the shure too. I'm Very interested in this IE40 pro, but there is almost no information about It.

    It's a good IEM for live applications, which is what it's intended for. But a lot of you might want to purchase it for music listening or maybe to do both. And I gotta say... it's gonna be difficult with the latter.
    If you are thinking about listening to music with these, then you're in for treble murder. You can check out the graph at rtings, that confirms this. The cymbals are way too splashy and vocals often time sound too harsh as well. Some songs sounds pretty good, like Would? or Spoonman, but they are notorious for not having a lot of treble. And even with those you might get ear fatigue.
    They come with some foam in the ear tips and I tried adding more, like a lot, it kind of worked, but they are still waaay too bright. And I can't say that I'm treble sensitive.
    Just my 2 cents, letting you guys know.

    • @ropodope
      @ropodope Před 5 lety

      they are not the same. i've tried 4 different mmcx connectors and none of them work because the connecting point is a bit longer on the Sennheiser connectors making them proprietary. i have no problems with that because the cable design is practically unbreakable. the sound quality, fit and comfort level for the ie40 pro's are unmatched. you either get them and will quickly agree or find a reason to not buy them in which case you're missing the boat, pure and simple.
