- There have never been more choices on the market for in-ear monitors with the quality ranging from total garbage to incredible value and everywhere in-between.
Sennheiser is one of the most commonly used brands for church in-ears historically but over the last several years the market has been flooded with low-cost, direct-import options from companies like KZ and MEE, CCA, etc.
So do more traditional options from brands like Sennheiser still merit a place in the conversation?

This is one of the best overviews I've ever seen, because you strike me as a fairly humble person, it doesn't just devolve into snobbery about other better IEMs you've heard. Detailed explanations, honest opinions, nice unboxings, and you speak in a nice relaxed manner. Happy to subscribe.
Our team mainly uses the IE 100 PRO. Most of our tech is Sennheiser, and we haven’t had any major issues thus far with their products. Our on-stage team consists of mostly volunteers, so we recommend the IE 100 PRO mostly because of the price.
Are they recommended just for recreational purposes? Like I kinda wanna use them just for fun?
Our worship team uses a mix of IE 100 pro and 400. I am planning to get one myself personally since I kinda want to use it outside of the ministry too. Most of our equipment are really just for ministry use. It's a good thing to invest one for myself since I do video editing aside from vocals and guitars as well. Your videos have helped me a lot in deciding, and I might go with just the 100pro for personal use. It even has a bundle with a wireless connector.

I use the 100 Pros for weekly worship and the only thing I can say about any cons are that they tend to disconnect too easily. They sound great but at times I lose connection in one ear, usually the right side. I tried using a Bose model that the church was using and the molded in ear piece was a really hard thing to figure out how to put it in! So I bought the 100’s. I may upgrade to the 400 sometime in the future.

Hey man, awesome review! I bought the 100 Pros a couple weeks back and I'm so in love with them. I've never heard anything quite as detailed. I'm hearing stuff in my music that I never noticed before because it's clear. That being said, when you said the 400 Pros were even clearer and wider, I can't even imagine what that must sound like. Jealous!
Hoping you'll get there one day with the 400's, btw I'm thinking of buying my 100 Pros, how has it served you so far?
@@sunshop09 I still love them. I've since gotten the IE 400 Pros as well and while they are definitely even better than the 100s, I still listen to the 100s from time to time and they still blow me away. It's such a great value!
@@justspaztik oh that's great! was wondering how different are the 400 pros now like is the bass more punchier etc, i did get my 100 pros they're great, but not much of a difference in terms of listening to music since I upgraded from the cx275s which were great as well, but when it's about monitoring and getting feedback of off an instrument, it stands out!!! They're still great tho, love the Sennheiser sounding!

Hi there, great review. Given this is now 2 years after your review, I just met with the Sennheiser guys at NAB in 2024. We chatted about IEM's since I am seriously considering some new custom versions. I am currently using the IE300's for my typical daily video editing and general listening. Based on your review I would tend to lean toward the 400's as an upgrade. Not sure what difference there would be.
Im a Dj and using Sennheiser HD25 on ear now. When i play in clubs with loud booth monitors or high/loud sound from the speakers, i struggle with my on ear because i have to turn the volume up to high. And its bad for my hearing in long term. Will the Sennheiser ie 100 pro do the job ?

how are the IE 100s compared to the IE 40 pro? I am trying to decide between these two options, IE 40 pro Clear or IE 100 pro Black.
I like the clear look, and the 100s are around 11% more expensive in my country... I wil use them on stage in church (I play electric guitar) and for listening casual music with my phone while in public transport.. which ones would you take?

They have the same sound profile. The only thing they did was update the connector on the 100 pro to match the other pros (400 and 500 pro). The IE 40 Pro sounds the same as the 100 Pro. You're safe to get the 40 pro if you want.
Hi I enjoyed the video but can you help me to decide this? I want to buy in ear monitor for dj-ing and I dont know which way to go I'm thinking between the IE 500 PRO vs SE535 PRO ??
Ordered me a pair of the IE 500 pro. Will find out how they sound at tomorrow’s Event…for me I’m personally more of a fan of sennheiser than sure. In my opinion I would think either the sennheiser 500 or sure 535 are going to be great choices and it would boil down to preference.
So how are they compared to TFZ?
Build quality and fit are definitely superior. Sound quality is really good w/ both options. Obviously there's a big price difference so there's a bit of a choice between the possibility of longevity and build quality versus lower initial investment. If we were buying ears to be shared by multiple people on a team, would lean Sennheiser.
I think the 400 are great especially if you love bassy punch and you don't like tge trebly frequencies.

it's my understanding that the 400 is for muscians and the 500 is for singers (vocalist). As a drummer and Bass player, I went with the 400's.

This is not an honest review, sound of the IE100s is weak. No bottom end, and only partial mids. Not a good listening experience at all.
They would be good for a metronome, but for music no way. Even audio books (vocals) sound tinny.
maybe your drivers problem. i have a fine listening experience with ie100p, it's cheap enough for such good quality and comfort
I agree yours might be deflective. My ie 100's sound amazing. But the ie 400's sound better.
