- Heloo my friends I hope you enjoy the video this week, it all started when my daughter sent me an AI picture of my grandkids, firstly I was amazed I couldn't believe how beautiful the grand babies looked all grown up and styled in the photos (AI is scary good) then it started me thinking about how we use techniques to fake things from hair colour to stone walls, I looked at my own home and was amazed how much I do this. Most of the time it is done to save money or to create a look or feel without all the hassle.

Being creative in a budget is an Art in itself. When I am out in the Wild and see bits & bobs, architectural pieces and items that ignite my imagination, I just put them in my cart with no questions asked😂😂.

Lynsey, your creativity never ceases to amaze me, and I love what you shared with us today! Of course I would love to always have the real thing, but that's just simply not in my budget. A couple of faux things in my home are a faux tin tile ceiling in my kitchen, and on a smaller scale, I've recreated porcelain flower pots and turned them into aged terracotta pots using a mixture of paints. Have a fantastic weekend!
Real is always 👍 but isn’t it great when you have created something fake and it’s as good as the real thing. (Now if we could just stop telling people it’s not real) 😂

I have to admit all the fake AI stuff is kinda scary, bit you and your family's photos look adorable. That green Lincrusyic paper looks so pretty. The tea pot looks so elevated. I love suitcase stickers. Thats something you dont see very much on the rolling ones. Fantastic job with the hall tree. Thr hallway looks fantastic and very Edwardian/Victorian. 😊 I don't have anything around the house that would fool the eye, it I was thinking of getting faux orchids or silk roses🌹

My living room is quite dark. I took a half circle decorative piece that has "spokes" coming from the center bottom that resembles those half circle windows. I placed it on the top of my built-in bookshelf with a half circle mirror behind it. No one would think it's an actual window, but it does resemble the look and reflects a little light into the room. I like it, which is what really matters. Your hall tree turned out beautifully! Very clever, as always.

Absolutely love the Halltree! My foux project; I wanted a blue and white tile backsplash all the way up the wall beind the stove in my kitchen. As you know, that would be very expensive! So I bought a piece of plywood and got to work mapping out the size of tile, width if grout, and creating a stencil so that my Fleur de lis and flourishes were all the same size and centerd uniformly. (This stincel had no detail only was only an outline) Then began the time-consuming and painstaking process of hand paining all the details of each tile and then painting in the grout. And with two sets of decorative iron brackets (saved for the perfect project) I hung two box store pine shelves that I stained in a dark stain. And I just stinking love the end result and don't even feel bad that they are not real tiles. Because , when I look up and see stained wood, copper, and white ironestone against that blue and white background, I feel like I'm cooking in a little cottage kitchen somewhere on a little European village.
