- In todays video we 'Make do and Mend' sometimes the things we want are just way out of our price range so today we shop our home to make some decor changes and with the help of some thrift finds I try to make my version of a beautiful (very expensive) French mirror.on a very tight budget.

i loved so many of these ideas! when i saw the gold leaf fall into the shell i htought ' she should leave some there ' haha and you liked it, so you did! the butterflies under the lamshade is brilliant and that antiqued mirror is stunning! i saved this to my how-to folder!

Hi Lynsey. Omg that mirror is brilliant, once again a gorgeous creation. Its nice its getting warmer, time for me to get in my shed which is in our yard and see what I can create. Got a lovely coffee table ( free ) last week, carved ornate legs with red and gold trim faux leather top under toughened glass. Adore it. Love your porch too. Well, it's all great, no surprise, par for your course, but...but...that shell is simply mad crazy awesome. Makes me wish I did blue in my house b/c I really can't see any other color being quite so striking, maybe turquoise would do it? What I love best are the little flecks of gold inside the shell, you do that often where you sort of let the universe tell you that a thing was meant to happen craft-wise & I really love that. Serendipity rocks!

I have a thrifted chandelier, dark wood and brass, that had no lamp shades. I bought three of these little metal flower pots that you showed. Mine are bright green. I made holes in the bottoms of them and clipped them onto the light bulbs. It looks surprisingly pretty!

I wonder if you have a Pyrex clear rectangular casserole dish that would fit into the silver-plated piece with piece? It would make a lovely serving piece. I've also seen people place books in them, vertically.😊❤

I should imagine there would be , I bought a pack of gold and silver leaf papers years ago and it had all sorts of shades of gold in including copper, Amazon still has them. 👍I just checked
