Fun fact the character was actually made by Jim Henson and was a precursor to kermit along with another,actually there were two,one in the Wilkins commercials and another in a show he was working on at the time,call sam and friends.

-YES, that is the work of Jim Henson. He puppeteered and voiced both characters.
-NO, that is NOT Kermit the Frog. That is Will-kins. Kermit was already a character when these commercials aired. Also, the other puppet character is named Wont-kins.
