As a reminder, Latin is not a race but a community of languages.
really is just spanish and portuguese language, that's why i don't like the modern use of the word latinamerica, must be iberoamerican really
And European isn’t a race 😅
Latinos is a "culture" not a race.
@@matiasreinoso1723So you are basically excluding the Caribbean countries and French Guinea.

bcz they never saw Slavic dances especially those in the Balkans so like Latin American dummies on this video and person that made the comparison video are ignorant about Europe

Spain, Italy and France are latins as well. Latin is not a race but a community of languages that came from Latin language.
Aparently you are the only smart around here
We need more videos with these 7 ladies! Pleaaaassseeeeeee 🎉
Guys, again? This is Latin Americans vs Latin Europeans. Every girl here is Latin.
It´s obvious. One descends from the other.
Some latin americans arent really latin but more likely to be native american or black rather latin european. Actually real latins gone forever long time ago romans were latins now every latin european is mixed even italy. Spanish people are already very mixed iberians, celt-iberians, berbers etc. So when mixed people goes south america they mix even more in that sense... latin people today is just considered people that talks language derived from vulgar latin language not genetically latin. Let latin alone we cant really say all south americans are spanish or portoguese.
Actually it should be titled "Iberoamericans vs Latins" since they only had people who speak Spanish and Portuguese on the American side.
Latin Americans is better because Spanish and Portuguese are Latin languages and most people have never heard of Ibero-Americans. What's wrong is to claim the Europeans here are not Latins. @@CocainaArt

Both continents , Europe and American in genral , love football , probably the best fans at the stadium are from these , especially the latinos , Argentina fans during 2022 were insane
Football in Argentina is on another level. I can only say that Brazil, Uruguay, Italy (especially Naples), and the Balkans share the same passion as us. The stadium becomes a state of anarchy.
Come to Middle East and see how people love football
Yeah thanks to us Englishmen, we gave the world this culture
@@Angelcynn_2001
There are non-English people who love football and excel at it
Have you seen the champs élysées in 2018 ?
15:00 Oh this is not Brazil tho, most people there are from India (we love India btw), it was in the last world cup.
Fun fact: One of the most competitive championship of the world is the *Brasileirão* (Brazil National championship) 🇧🇷 In 2021, the competition was chosen by the IFFHS as the strongest national league in South America as well as the strongest in the world.
Really, this is another level of entertainment! Is like watch a tv drama. The physical and psychological pressure that athletes go through is no joke. If a football player can stand out on Brasileirão he is the BEST of the Best. And they can go to any team in the world they want.
This championship happens every year, during almost the whole year (the 2024 Brasileirão is about to start).
So Brasileirão (and other national stuff) is everything brazilians care about, we don't even care to world cup this much (in fact the national team is not very loved here nowdays because most of them play in Europe and don't have a bond with brazilian fans), nor other America's championships (because the prize money of ours is bigger) but we are still winning those too. Anyways for me the local teams from Brasil are the one who truly represents our football. ❤
Yap lot of Indians support Brazil and Argentina
love to india from 🇧🇷
The video was full of stereotypes, I enjoyed it a little bit because it was fun seeing the girls interact, but from the title and video thumbnail to the videos showed it's clear it's a battle of stereotypes.
The "culture" videos about Europeans were not accurate (and I'm sure very stereotypical for South American countries too), like if they are going to show these kinds of videos, at least make sure they are about the countries of the people you bring in to record the video.
On another note, many people have said what's wrong with the tittle, but as someone from Spain, why did they give the Catalan flag (in the thumbnail) to the girl from Mallorca, Islas Baleares? They are two different autonomous communities!! Also, if you give the autonomous community flag to one of the Spanish girls, you should also do the same for the other Spanish girl and the other girls (like be specific about each region each girl is from).
Latin people from America and Europe are certainly more lively than other europeans from other regions, such as those from nordic and scandinavians countries.
Note: Unfortunately, in Brazil there is violence when opposing fans of rival teams from the same city meet and I hope this idiocy ends one day.
Oh, football violence is part of the game basically everywhere. For example Hungarians aren't nearly as energetic or fierce as Latin people (for example Romanians in our vicinity are way more "all out, all the time" in basically everything, from driving to politics), but every time a major football fan group goes anywhere, the police is there to supervise them. Fighting is also more regular than the optimal.
So yeah, it's just football in general, I think.
@@bencebuda4599 In fact, in Brazil it's worse, because violence between rival fans often ends in deaths, so here it's much more serious.
But not only in Brazil, other countries show this bad behavior, for example, in 80´s the Hooligans were people who engaged in reckless, unlawful, or disruptive behavior, such as vandalism, bullying, or rioting, usually in connection with crowds at sporting events.
Andrea is using the word educated like it's used in Spanish. Educated in English doesn't mean polite. It means you have an education from a school.
really?
Yes, in English you cand be educated and not polite @@jules44.
Yeah, it's the same in brazilian portuguese, I got what she mean when she said that

Typical American phrase: "The Latin term is never used in this context for European countries"... LOL
Are you aware that the conglomerate of Latin European countries is called Europa Latina/Romània? Or that until 2012 all of us Latin countries were part of an international organization called the Latin Union, with its headquarters in Paris, which was founded to safeguard, promote and unite the entire Latin world? And that the term "Latin lover", which today many Latin Americans make their own, in reality was created for us Italians and consequently for all the other Latin peoples of the Mediterranean? We have the inscriptions on the monuments that affirm our Latinity in Italy, and we have always considered ourselves Latins, only that today due to the Americans (everyone... from Alaska to Argentina) there is misinformation about Latinity. This same alphabet that we adopt to communicate is called "Latin alphabet" and originated in Italy, therefore in Europe, not in America. I could go on forever... because the reality is that in America you don't even know what Latinity is.
I'm Italian and I'm LATINO, an autochthonous Latin or Latin European, so: VIVAT LATINORVM (translate this for me, guys... since you are Latin too haha).

It's Latin America VS Latin Europe not Latin VS Europe. The word that best defines "Latinos" is Hispanic Americans or Ibero-Americans.
The girls from Europe were also latinas, they are Latin Europeans and the others were Latin Americans. Next time compare Latinos with Anglo-Germans.

I feel like this video is more like for the memes and spreading stereotype and misinformation than an actual educational look at what's different. The high-school'ish title is probably not helping that case either.
I agree with you. These terms and concepts about "latino" create stereotypes, that's why brazilians in the most don't consider themselves as latinos, this video is a proof we aren't latinos cuz they are refering with hispano american countries not Brazil.
Latino is a made up we Italians always make fun of, remember we are in this f irrelevant app where I hope no one is getting an education (would be bad for him)
The title reveal a lot of ignorance. Latin cultures come from southern Europe, from roman civilisation, before having spread to central and south Americas. Assuming that « latin » is something distinctly American in opposition to Europe is a non-sense.
My thoughts exactly
USA people created the "latin american" term so they can distance themselves from people born in other countries in America, so that they can be the "only" americans while the others are "latin" or canadian (Canada speaks french too and it's not part of LATIN America), They put lots of countries together to erase that everybody born in America is AMERICAN. Argentinians are americans, brazilians are americans, mexican are americans! but they're not recognized as americans only ppl from USA. Other thing that makes NO sense at all is calling "Mexicans/ Middle and South Americans" as "latin", latin is not a race, it's a language! and USA people are just called "white", since Europe invaded and forced their culture over America the so called "latins" are WHITE too, look at Ana!, other people born in the USA that's not "white" always have to be called something else (that can't be "white" or American) black people are AFRO-american, asians are Asian-American, etc... but white USA people are not called euro-american they are just "white" or "american" 🙄erasing the CONTINENT over their country.
@@watashiyo8523 USA didn't create the term "Latin America", it was was coined by Napoleon III. He had a strong interest in extending French commercial and political power in the region. He and his business promoter Felix Belly called it "Latin America" to emphasize the shared Latin background of France with the former viceroyalties of Spain and colonies of Portugal.
Latin American countries have no difference in comparison to Europe? Is that what you are saying?
@@watashiyo8523 the USA using the term Latin American to distance themselves from people with other backgrounds is wrong. it's also wrong that Europeans want to appropriate to the term Latino to include themselves when it has always been used to refer to Latin Americans.
FRANCE really strange: a southern country of northern countries BUT also a northern country of southern countries 🤔 And not simply from a geographical point of view 🤯
14:56 i think this clip is not from Brazil, maybe India or a mix of people in the world cup in Qatar.
Its actually so cool that others developing countrys cheer for Brazil cause our nation at least in the football story is bigger than the europeans so they relate a lot more
IberoAmerica and not Latin America because all countries have Spanish (Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, etc...) and Portuguese (Brazil) colonization. Haiti is an African culture on this continent. Nothing explains other languages outside of the Spanish and Portuguese location on the Iberian Peninsula (Portugal and Spain). Italian, French, Catalan, Romanian, other Romance or Latin languages are beyond comprehension. I am from Brazil. In Brazil, English is easy, but Spanish is not for everyone. 85% of the Brazilian population lives close to the Atlantic coast. Very far from any Hispanic border.
Exato, ibero america seria o correto.

@@Ms.Mewitdabullshit right, South America is a melting pot of European, indigenous, African.
Italiano, francês e espanhol também é latino. Beijos.
to recap: an Italian and a Spaniard becoming super friends, an Italian and a Frenchman in a foreign country try to be friends but can't communicate well, an Italian and a Latin American become friends but after the Latin American understands that Italians they are similar to them and are not snobbish, because Latin Americans believe that Europeans are all haughty, even countries of Latin origin such as Italy and Spain, Latin Americans do not know that an Italian understands Spanish very easily, a little less Portuguese but we still have many things in common, we are certainly a little colder, but it also depends on the area of Italy, in the south they are very close to Latin American countries, while in the north they are very similar to northern European countries. In my travels I have discovered that we Italians are always very well and loved and this is the best thing for me
I'd like to add info to the football section. When my uncle was a teen, he traveled to the south of Brazil with friends. He was in a bus and there were Argentinians going back to their country after some match (not sure if it was a clubs or nations game), but the Brazilian team won and my uncle and friends bothered the Argentinians the entire trip. Eventually they had a stop in the road and the bus left earlier than the time agreed, my uncle in the middle of nowhere with no phones at the time - not even sure if my grandparents had landlines at that point - was in despair. The best answer they got was "oh you'll have to wait for the next bus", but they had luggage in the one that left... About half an hour later their bus got back to the stop, the Argentinians realized they were missing and told the driver.
My take is: make hell of rivals lives when they loose a match, it's worth it.

Probably Giulia, when she was little, watched a lot of Looney Tunes cartoons, like Speedy Gonzales, where the ultra-fast mouse, presumably living in a fictional city in Mexico, wore a yellow sombrero on his head, and occasionally someone, in the show, was portrayed taking a siesta! This mistaken memory, typically perpetuated by American (USA) TV, depicting a culture different from their own, has stuck in her mind! Even I, being Italian, watched Speedy Gonzales when I was little, and I thought that in Mexico, someone took siestas and wore sombreros, maybe older people, not the young ones!
"¡Ándale! ¡Ándale! ¡Arriba! ¡Arriba! ¡Epe! ¡Epe! ¡Epe! Yeehaw!"
North Americans even tell us South Americans, ¡Andale! ¡Andale! when we never use this expression...
most people don't know but Mexico is ranked with the longest hours works and the shortest rest hours IN THE WORLD, Clearly they bruised some Americans egos, so they had to portray Mexicans taking "siestas" when they probably never take them. even Americans portray italians as a mafia country ¿? at this point i don't know why anyone would believe what americans say
@@oscarberolla9910 Yeah! One of the many mistakes they make. Mixing up the Spanish spoken in Spain with the Mexican language (or with other varieties of Spanish spoken in Central and South America)!
@@lexwolverine555 Although there are variants, it is still only the Spanish language, there is no Mexican, Peruvian, Chilean, etc. language.

Italy girl, thx makes me laugh and happy
Latino is ANYONE whose native language EVOLVED from LATIN! What makes spanish speaking countries in South and Central America LATINOS is nothing but the origin of our Language, and it makes ALL spanish, Portuguese, French, Rumanian and above all, ITALIANS, LATINOS as well. After all, we inherited our language and our culture from SPAIN. The original population of the americas, (the indigenous people) WERENT latinos AT ALL. They all spoke different languages and all had very DIFFERENT cultures.
What catches my attention as a Brazilian is that many people think that "Latino" is only those born below Texas and that people who speak Latin languages but were not born in Latin America are not considered Latinos. Example: Shakira sings Latin music, Edith Piaf does not. Another thing is that for some Americans, a blonde person with light eyes who was born in Brazil is less white than a person who has dark hair and eyes but light skin who was born in the United States.
And because the majority of Latin American people speak Spanish and Portuguese, the term "Latino" is almost only used for them. But when we talk about french speaking people in the Americas, is not used. For example: Haiti should be considered as Latino, because they speak french, and French is a latin based language. And if Quebec were an independent country, it would be Latino.
Also with the french Guiana, Martinique and Guadalupe if they were independent countries
@@user-pp7gb8vy3i No, French is also a Romance/Latin language. Only English and Dutch, spoken respectively in Guyana and Suriname, aren't.

Italy is very similar with Portugal and both countries are similar to Brazil. Dont even need to say that Portugal and Spain are the samething and that makes Brazil closer to Spain.

About 470,000 Spaniards reside in Argentina and about 670,000 Italians reside in Argentina!!!! Plus the majority of our citizens have ancestry of those two nations me being an example!!!! They have also influenced our culture greatly!!! We love pasta, pizza and ice cream brought over by Italians and we also love Tortilla de papas, empanadas and churros brought over by Spaniards!!! They both contributed in our wine culture!!!!

I got offended of what Giulia said lmao, but it’s fine, since it isn’t true of what she said, not even the slightest lol Correction: The siesta is a Spanish culture, we don't take naps, The movies portray Mexico this way, because Hollywood filmmakers unfortunately cannot distinguish Spain and Mexico. It's like when Hollywood portray Italy as a mafia country or an Italian tanned arab-looking man with hairy body and a mustache who works in a pizzeria, which isn’t true. Like cmon it’s Hollywood we are talking about, Nobody gets their knowledge from Hollywood lmao but anyway, there are no siesta in Mexico. In fact Mexico is ranked with the longest work hours and shortest rest hours in the world . We are too busy being the hardest workers 😚 She should already know this, being a neighbor of Spain. Even the 2 Spanish women corrected her “no, that's Spain” lmao. I'm surprised that Daphne didn’t said anything, she seems the type to say something, but you can see her expression of Giulia's unexpected comment... leaving Daphne a little speechless and just staring …
But No hate to Giulia, she is still my favorite person there 🇮🇹 🇲🇽 ❤️
she's probably well aware of the unfair portrayal since she's italian and as you mention usa is obsessed with portraying all italians as these dark sicilians most likely because it was mostly sicilians that came there around 100 years ago.
I believe that the Argentine ,the girl is specifically introverted, but that does not define that she is a representation of Argentina because if we talk in a general way people are more extrovert and open
Catalonia it's in Spain ❤ I'm from Barcelona and the majority of people speak Spanish. Catalan it's a regional language as the basque, valencian, galician, aranes, etc... But we're the same country by the Spanish Constitution ❤ Don't play politics in this, don't make this to my country. *P.S.* Several Nordic metal bands are particularly fond of Spanish-speaking American countries like México, Argentina, Colombia or Chile, and consider them their second home. I remember 10 or 15 years ago several Hispanic Americans wanted to study abroad and receive postgraduate education in Nordic countries (particularly Scandinavian countries), nowadays not so much! Unfortunately countries like Sweden or Denmark allowed their countries to be flooded with people who will never adapt or integrate with their culture and values.
The concept and terms of "latin american" is different for brazilians, brazilians don't consider themselves as "latinos" because it's more about languages but there are cultural factory's in it too...
These vídeos about latinos is specifically for hispano american countries, a lot of the things showed here do not represent Brazil.

@@nukekidontheblock8349A Latino is someone who speaks a language originating from Latin! "Latino" is not race! Although the term was created by the United States as a form of racial separation, to separate America, which is a single continent. A way of speaking in the past "us and them, whites and non-whites". The truth is that Latin America, like North America, is made up of people from all over the world, not a single race, but a set of peoples. The difference is that in the United States and even Canada it is much more segregated, with separate neighborhoods for Jews, Asians, Italians, Irish, etc... And even though these people have been there for centuries they are still seen as if they didn't belong and as if the true American was the white Anglo Saxon... In Latin America there is no such sharp racial division. Ana is extremely white, if you do a DNA test on her, you will probably see that she is 97% European or higher, but she is Latin in culture and belonging as she was born and her entire family is in Latin America. There is no "Latin race". There are Latin people, whose language comes from Latin, their culture and religion influenced by the Romans and these in turn, by the Greeks, Etruscans, Phoenicians, Gauls and all the people who inhabited that Mediterranean region, mixing, adapting giving rise to the Latin European peoples who inhabit the Mediterranean region and these people who later gave rise to Latin America.
Brazilians who grew up in big cities like Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, they seem to understand diversity. Brazil is another metling pot. There are so many diferent ethnic backgrounds in Brazil. I think Brazil has a great understanding of embracing different culture. I've never encountered such case of Brazilians assuming all Asians are Chinese. In other latin american countries, they usually portait Asians = Chinese which is so provocative thing to do.
Brazilians most often associate Asians with Japanese, because Brazil has the largest Japanese community outside of Japan! However, this has changed and with the popularization of Korean media, today there is an Asian cultural expansion not limited to just Japan among Brazilians.

The notion of "latino" refering uniquely to south americans is an american creation. "Latino" means someone who speaks a language originated from latin, people from the former West Roman Empire: italian, french, spanish, portuguese, rumanian, also part of Belgium and Switzerland. Of course, south americans can also be considered latinos as long as they descend from those people, but there is no need to emphacise this.

France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Andorra and Romania are all similar because of the Latin background. The Roman Empire and Latin language origin. Because of that when Spain and Portugal explored the world and set up colonies they brought over that same culture. But in the America’s that culture was mixed and integrated with native and African customs and traditions. So we’re all Latins. Some Latin European and others Latin American. I love all Mi Gente from Europe to the America’s.
Italians are more like latino, know why? Because LATIUM (Lazio) is in central Italy!!!
There are no Latinos in Latin America. There are Latin Americans only (Latino Americanos)
NEVER use the word Latino without American, unless talking about ancient Rome.
Latino is not correct form to referencing people from america. The correct word is Hispanic. It’s not included Portugal but it can be because Portuguese were as hispanic as Spanish people. Hispania included all the Iberian peninsula.
More correctly there are Latin Europeans (Italians, Portuguese, French, Spaiards, Romanians) and Latin Americans (Brazlians, Argentinians, Mexicans, Colombians etc). They are all Latins, in the sense the all speak a Latin language. For fuck's sake Italy is the original Latin country as Latium, the region of Rome, is in Italy.
@@angyliv8040 Hispanic does not references the old Roman province of Hispania. It refers the Spanish language that gets it's name from the old Roman province.
Calling Portuguese speakers as hispanics is ridiculous. And anyway, you would ALSO be wrong, because in the continent America, what we have are HISPANIC AMERICANS.

Roma Aeterna Victrix!
I just disagree they are all "latins". Latin, without an adjective, and as you surely know, was a tribe from which the italic language Latin came.
You said Latin Americans and Latin Europeans are all Latins. I think that goes back in circles, as if all these millions of people belonged to an ethnic group Gisele Bündchen and Pelé are not the same ethnic group of course.
I would agree that Latin Americans and Latin Europeans are all Romance/Latin speakers and share a lot of historical background (which obviously varies a lot in Latin America... as despite the language, religion, institutions, law, etc, there are places where Native Americans are majority... Mexico prides itself a lot in having a native name, native symbol in their flag, several stuff and customs that are native). Bolivia and Peru have quite strong native culture too and appearance.
On the other hand, there are really big areas where Portuguese and Spanish AND ITALIAN descendants are the majority.
There are areas of Brazil where they speak Veneto dialect and still resent Napoleon ending the Venice Republic lol. I mean, we can all agree they are quite culturally italian, despite some 100-150 years of separation...
@@rogeriopenna9014Sorry for my English, I have a low level and I have used Google Translate. But if you say Latin American you would also be referring to some states in the United States such as California or Texas, since there is no official language in the United States, and you would also be talking about Canada since French is an official language along with English. By saying Latin American you are encompassing the vast majority of countries in America, therefore from my point of view the word loses its meaning since America and Latin America would be synonymous. What I want to say is that to differentiate Spanish-speaking people what you would have to say is Hispanic-American, and if you want to include Brazil the word would be Ibero-American.
