    Robert Mitchell
    -Independent Analyst
    SSC North America has reached another milestone in top-speed testing, surpassing the previous world record top speed set by the SSC Tuatara in January 2021.
    American hypercar collector and Tuatara customer Larry Caplin piloted his SSC Tuatara with Johnny Bohmer Proving Grounds at Space Florida’s LLF, Kennedy Space Center Merritt, Florida on May 14th, 2022, where he previously broke the speed record for world’s fastest production vehicle on the 2.3 mile stretch of runway. A top speed of 295.0 mph (474.8 km/h) was recorded by data and performance logging firm Racelogic with dual VBOX GNSS systems onboard the Tuatara, as well as a Life Racing GPS unit for additional data acquisition. Present during the top speed run was Racelogic technician Mitchell Townsend and independent analyst Robert Mitchell, ensuring extra levels of transparency and validation measures that SSC North America has integrated into its testing process.

      Uh... HOW would I prove that to you? GET a god damn car, and bring you along?? You dumb or something?
      However... Its not a secret. If you actually look up Hennessey F5 and "no airbags" then THEIR OWN GOD DAMN COMPENY will tell you they have no airbags. And no plans to federalise this car for real number plates. And how they dont have legal VIN / Chassis numbers. They kinda have to inform people about these things.
      Its just fanboys and children on the net that dont know these things.
      I just put it in Google right now. Hennessey F5 and "No airbags" and the FIRST article that comes up says :
      ‘Production’ Hennessey Venom F5 Has No Airbags, Claims Bugatti-Crushing 311+ MPH Top Speed Anyway
      Oh, and it’ll only be sold with a show-and-display title. Kit-car number plates.

    I suspect the next step will be to go back to Nevada and try again for a two direction average. So far they've only gone 295mph (474kph) so they're not quite there yet. The Bugatti Chiron did 304.77mph (490.47kph) and also only did a one direction run and I also believe it was a flying start so none of these can be classified as an official record. An official record must also be monitored by the F.I.A..

      No such thing as a “flying start”. There is no maximum length rule. You can use as long of a run-up as you like. When they ran in Nevada they did not do a much shorter run than what Bugatti did in their track. Each has its pro’s and cons. VW may have a track where they can go round and round building up speed, but fact is that the banking and radius of the turns also limits the speed you can carry onto the straightaway. Now the Chiron speed is not a record for various other reasons, but run up has nothing to do with it.

It was not that they didn't believe in the car, but rather that they didn't believe the numbers that were laid down at the first attempt. Upon further inspection it was determined by all involved, including SSC, that there were major errors made. When you are putting up numbers for a "world's first" you better be sure of your numbers as they will certainly come under scrutiny.

      Yeah what people forget was.... That they FAKED their high speed run back in 2007 too. So this was the SECOND time that they faked a high speed "wooorld record" run.
      And it wasnt just that they "misread" the numbers. There were wild claims too. These runs were picked apart from 10 different angles. ONLY Americans still think there was some kind of mistake done. But no. They straight-up faked it.
      ANd finally... Their car is not a production car. It runs on kit-car number plates. Has zero crash testing, no airbags, no emissions certification, and so on, and so on. If you want to claim production car world records, then you need to have a production car.

    I respect Robert a great deal, but that seemed oddly off. And Shelby himself has the trustworthiness of the average politician.
    They claimed well in excess of 300 mph and told everyone it was an honest mistake. Yet they have spent the better part of two years now trying to break 300. If the car had been as capable as they first tried to claim and kept claiming after they were caught lying, 300 should have been pretty easy. Two years later and nothing. Unless they go out and run their originally claimed numbers, it will always be considered an attempt at pulling a fast one. While 300 is fast, it is nowhere near the claims and thus cannot rectify the wrong doings of Jared and his team. Too little too late.
    It takes years to build a good reputation, but only seconds to tear it down.

    • @MrLathor
      @MrLathor Před 2 lety

      Regardless of what you think, they are obviously going to have a legitimate 300 mph car. So I’m not sure what the point of continuing to shame them will do. Just appreciate the car for what it can do, it’s not like Shelby is getting filthy rich of this project. There are FAR easier ways to scam people than making a functioning hypercar. Most of the time they pull the plug and take the money long before they get to this point.

    • @AB-80X
      @AB-80X Před 2 lety

      @@MrLathor The point? As long as they don't admit to their wrongdoings, or prove themselves capable of what they lied about, they will always be the company who tried to cheat the motoring world. Shelby does not have the format and class to stand up and admit to what he did, he's a coward and a cheat. I will never understand people who accept being lied to and taken for fools. They are desperately hoping that the world will forget, and that's what's wrong with the world. People need to be held accountable, and way too many are too soft and limp to do it.
      I think many of us will never forget it, and until he takes his car to 331 mph, it will not be forgotten by a lot of people. He is so far from his initial claims, that it reinforces that he knew all along.
