    I’m not sure those are P.scaber. They look more like Rathkes isopod.
    I have a few of both and I was mixing them because I though I had 2 forms P. Scaber, there’s a few kinds of “calico” scaber… but I now think I have grey scabers and the calico are rathkes. Check it out!

    And then hope it won't rain or your insects will have a problem when caught.
    I'd recommend some small holes in the bottom so the rain water can slip through.

    I'm curious how many people took to the comments to say there insects not animals when insects are in the animal kingdom

  • @rattel9731

    Would it work with 2 containers that aren't same size as long as one can fit inside the other?

    • @HomemadeEcosystems
      @HomemadeEcosystems  Před rokem +4

      Probably not because if the outer one is bigger, the animals will fall in that one instead of the inside one. You could just do it with one container but than it is just a bit more work to put it back again.

    1 question!! Not being rude, but what's the point of putting a plastic box in the soil if you can just, dig the soil up and take it home in a jar?

    • @HomemadeEcosystems
      @HomemadeEcosystems  Před rokem +1

      Because If you do that you won't have so much species of animals. But it is also an option

    Rename this video. Make a new thumbnail too if you want more views.
    The algo loves it but I have actually searched for “make bug trap” or similar and found only find videos of how to make bug traps from a potato, not a live pitfall trap

      @HomemadeEcosystems  Před 10 měsíci

      Yeah but I don't think a lot of people are looking for how to make a bug trap 😅
