This video took A LOT of patience to film so I hope you like it!

😁
I love your videos and I also love your humor you can make me laugh
noice cow in intro...
Your mosquito larvae look either really wierd or they have several stages of growth
Also it's possible that it's just some strange kind of mosquitos idk
Jesus Christ saved my life he can save yours to. No body is perfect except Jesus Christ. So he was the perfect sacrifice for the world and he became that sacrifice. So that we can be perfect in God’s eyes all we need to do is. Repent from our sinful wicked ways and surrender our life’s to him. Jesus Christ. Repent meaning acknowledge and forsake your sins. Know you have sinned and know you are not good in God’s eyes. Forsake meaning as in try your absolute best to not sin. We have to be clean and filled with the Holy Spirit. Jesus Christ said we must be born again to enter The Kingdom of Heaven.
God bless you all. I love you all may you all find Jesus Christ as your Lord Savior .
God bless brothas and sisters ❤❤! Thank God ❤️❤❤😊
As a dirtologist, i can confirm, this is very dirty dirt👍
🤣
Are you a theoretical dirtologist or a practical dirtologist?
@@johnbaker1256 dirty dirtologist. I study dirt, what did you expect?
the dirt isnt dirtin
Agreed
You are consistently 354% funnier than I would expect from this subject matter.
Damn I was aiming for 355% but I'll take it, thanks!! 😁
wow so random and funny
Must agree, only 30 seconds into the video and I already laughed out loud for real (not just a chuckle either, wide grinned open mouthed laughter)
I did not expect to laugh like I did when I clicked this video
I can conferm whit the toes of yours
Only this guy could make me want to keep a jar of swamp water as a pet so badly.
Yea same😂
But remember though, he makes it look easier than I is😂😂
fr i rlly wanna do this
@@Stray..and it's not easy!
"Ants do not like feet."
The high quality educational content I've come to expect.
Your technique of putting the dirt in the jar is unparalleled. Excellent work.
Thanks!
As a communicator, i gotta say, you have the perfect delivery speech and rythme with your voice. The soft uninterested tone just to suddenly delivery the perfect nonchalant punchlines 😂😂😂. Man, your narrative works better than 90% of CZcamsrs.
as a communicator i can confirm he spoke during the video 👍👍
I'm not a communicator, but [silence]?
As a person whose hard of hearing. The lack of intonation makes it very difficult to understand 🙁
@@Stettafire try turning up the volume lmao 🤣
So true. There is one channel that I like a lot for their videos. But I'm unable to listen to them speak, because they raise their voice towards the end of every sentence. Wikipedia calls it "high rising terminal".
As a jarologist I can confirm this is a very jary jar
I used to have a toe biter as a pet. She was significantly larger than the one in your video. I finally released her when I moved away from where I had found her. So I put her back in her lake.
Loch Ness may be ?
This has to be the best ecosystem channel on youtube, lovely sense of humor.
Highlight of my day when I see a notification from you! Thank you so much for your dangerous expeditions into the wild and going up against so many predatory creatures to make us laugh. We all need to hear your expert biologist advice. You are the man! ❤
You are very welcome!
You could build paludarium (part water part land) and keep the scorpion as a pet. It would be interesting to see updates on him.
Yeah I was thinking about that
They are capable of flying, so unless you want it flying around your house, put a screen too on the tank (or release it back into the pond)
And yes, their bites (well, injection of a venom that breaks down tissue into a fluid, which it then drinks) are quite painful, think of a Yellowjacket sting, on fire…
Yes! It's so cute and cuddly!
Do you like swimming? Just wondering how to make your terrarium.
This is the most down to earth and normal youtube video I've seen. 😎👍💯
Thanks for the upload! Very funny content, and that water scorpion is really cool. I say let that beast free when it's time to over-winter. Anything that eats mosquitos is a champ in my book!
True! Yes I'll probably let him go before it is starting to get too cold. I feed him a lot now so he is good to go
One of the most effortlessly funny creators I follow on CZcams. Between my love of biology and the dry humor, I always look forward to a new video from you!
I have a similar set up, snail jar. Been going 3 years now. Self sufficient with the algae and they reproduce appropriately. Never had to top up the water either.
awesome!
The super dry sense of humor is an amazing touch to the video. Keep up the good work
I‘m amazed how much life there is in a jar of water.
Yeah after I was done filming I saw some hydras too and some very small animal swimming around so there is probably more than expected
I just laughed harder and more joyously than I have in far too long. I can’t thank you enough for making this - it helps so much for the crippling depression and anxiety- What it does for the soul to laugh cannot be measured for it truly priceless -
Glad you liked it !
3:10 I love freshwater shrimp, they're very silly how they swim around and spin in circles
I learned all my "put pond water in a bottle skills" from you. Thanks again!
As soon as you said "deep in nature", I knew where it was going. When I saw the cow, I wasn't disappointed. Respect.
😂lool
I absolutely love the consistent, unwarrented aggresion towards the viewer. Thank you.
I've got a jar of dirt and guess what's inside it 😂😂
Enough! Fires cannons aggressively
A Heart ?😂
As an avid (and rabid) Dipteran hater, the fact you fed a mosquito larva and a fly to that water scorpion brings me so much joy.
That water scorpion might've just saved someone from a horrible, dreadful, terrible, life-ruining mosquito bite.
Assuming the larva was female.
Y'all really don't know what a mosquito larva is huh? That's a midgefly not a mosquito, they're also called bloodworms and ik this because they're a common frozen fish food and loved by corydoras fish. They're completely harmless and I don't think the adults even have mouthparts
This is exactly the kind of content my life was void of. I'm going to be up all night now. New subscriber says hello Starshine!
Hi! welcome!
Best commentary; not even really into nature or bugs or ecosystem things but I can't stop watching your videos. So entertaining and also informative even for someone like me who prefers none of this action!
Thank you for the perspective inside the jar. Very helpful.
That's so cool that you found a water scorpion!! One of my favorite aquatic insects!
Water boatman is the coolest, like submarines. Damselfy is second, like aircraft carriers' air wings. Water scorpions are like LVTs crossed with UDTs and Marine Raiders.
OH YES water scorpion finally!!
I love the habitat you made for him. They indeed should have some surface area, but you can also keep them in a small water level. I managed to have two for a year. Water quality isn't really an important factor, althrough it's easier to observe them in a cleaner water. Sand is perfect for them. They love to hide in it.
yeah he uses the sticks and plants to get up to the surface!
I now have a very good sense of the scale of the jar. Thank you.
Your sense of humor is both underrated and appreciated. Keep up the good work brother!
I left a like for Bob
Bob thanks you
Same
Shiieeeet I did too
Oh my god i wasnt expecting such a short video to have such deadpan, hilarious timing, exacry my type of humor i needed this to wake my ass up for a long day ahead! Thank you very much! Ill be back to watch more later, hope everyone has a great day x
Have a great day too !
@@HomemadeEcosystems thank you very much!
Just found your profile! It’s honestly hard to pay attention to the actual video because your commentary is HILARIOUS 😂 keep doin your thing, man!
This is what you call quality content. So underrated!
You can always trust Homemade Ecosystems to deliver top notch entertainment!
Thanks for another great video!
You and zefrank are the only people I find funny and interesting when it comes to biology
This is such a fantastic video! I’ve often wondered what was beneath the surface of these little ponds…….Thank you for the treat!!
This commentary is sending me. He's so calm and monotone but the events he's describing are great.
When Jack Sparrow inspires a whole career.
No joke, this is better than Netflix 👍 glad we got the 'must have' hand close up. That poor mosquito larvae, what have they ever done to us apart from annoy, bite, spread disease 🤣 brilliant as always ✌️
legit bro these videos are the best
😂Thank you!
@@ShikharsBackup damn right, I don't know another person that can make pondwater, weeds and a few bugs this funny and interesting🤣
It is better than Netflix
Your video is awesome! I enjoy your sense of humor very much. It's always great to be entertained and educated at the same time. Thanks.
This is really interesting and so hilarious at the same time. The monotone deadpan delivery is awesome.
Great content! May your water scorpion grow very large off of mosquito larvae.
Thanks!
you sir, are a genius! you make learning about bugs and dirt way more fun than i could have imagined! Thank you! Definitly subscribed! :D
Welcome!
You should keep the water scorpion and make a paludarium for its amphibious nature 💯
Amazing feeding footage. So cool. Thanks!
Just discovered you with this video and i must say i was not prepare for humour but you're doing it real good dude keep it up !

Super cool! Thanks for this.
Man did I ever enjoy your video, had to watch it twice! Big smiles
dont know how i ended up here but I laughed out loud at least 5 times when I didn't expect a single joke in a video like this. great content!
"I wouldn't want to live with an animal who makes sounds with their dong. Don't even try it guys...It doesn't work!" 😂😂😂
I don't know how I got here, but I'm glad I stayed awhile and listened.
This is awesome. Keep em coming!
As someone who apparently can’t make these I see this as an absolute win
My jar, that i set up like 6 months ago grew nothing until this week it started growing algae. I think I made a swamp in a jar by accident. But I'll take it. ❤
It is something!
this visdeo just randomly showed up in my reccomended, i have never seen this channel before. but this video made me so happy and i was smiling all the way through
Thank You for the scale reference for the jar ;)
That was cool seeing a close up of water scorpion eating ❤ thanks for the cool video! I love seeing the various wildlife you find on your adventures
Very brave going through that dense jungle
Yes i know, I'm so brave!
Thank you for posting this, my friend.
I love watching people have their own little mini-ecosystems in their rooms, it's so interesting
Hey i just wanted to say i love your videos, im a big fan.
Glad you like them!
the vibe and narration humor you give is so refreshing in this genre of youtube biology. ^__^
I've had a jar EXACTLY like yours and put the EXACT same stuff in it, and that was 2 years ago. It has since turned redish brown and nothing is alive in it
Yes they are hard to keep alive
Ok, I don’t this dude is ever gonna stop with the animated titles… 🤣
Nope, they are too cool
@@HomemadeEcosystems too true
Never stop!
the best thing is the animation (jk love both ur humor and ur work)
The animations are pretty cool tbh 😂
@@HomemadeEcosystems 🤣
Thank you for giving me a sense of dimension!
Dude, your sense of humor is awesome, thank you for making me laugh! 😂😂😂
10/10 happy to see return of tiny shovel, i missed it
did you pet the cow?
Yes! I often pet them when I go for a walk 😅
Yes, tiny shovel, I miss the tiny rake too🤣👍
@@HomemadeEcosystems becoming a patron now just for that
@@Naitohana Thank you so much!
epic video frfr
Thanks!
I've been watching Life in Jars for years, you're going to find some really interesting stuff in your jars!
I tried liking this video more than once. I like how adequately adept you are at acting inept. The dry humour is the cherry on top.
2:19 i hit the dislike button so hard for showing me that, jk i'd never dislike your videos
You almost had me there 😂
I always love a creator letting everyone know they're number 1
1:56 bro got some veins there OMG
Damn, didn't see that myself 🤣 I do got some veins lol
Just ran across your channel. All biology classes should be this much fun.
Very cool video! I loved examining ponds growing up and reading about them. Eventually I got a BA in Biology. Your videos are both educational and funny. Thanks for making them!
Awesome that you got a BA in Biology. Do you have a job in the field?
@@HomemadeEcosystems Hi, That was many years ago. I worked in Medical Labs most of my life, as I had another degree in Medical Technology. I later went to school for computers worked for years in that field, close to retiring now! But Biology has always been my favorite subject. Your videos are really great!
He's so calm
Commentary is amazing 👏
Dude these videos make me laugh so hard every time. Your monotone delivery of the jokes makes it👍🏽😂
I love your narration, my kind of humour.
Love it! thanks for the upload and humour. I remember finding my first water scorpion as a kid 50 odd years ago! 😯Wondered what on earth it was at the time. Never bought them home to our pond as knew it was a predator and we had newts, but didn't realize how it eats... 👍
Smart ! They would definitly eat newts
This guy is awesome 👌
Commentary was perfect!
Love this narration...so good.
Masterpiece👍
You’re the best ecosystem channel and so funny love your channel ❤
so calming... great passion.
I had a couple of those when I was little, they even nested in the acquarium I built for them!
This is so informative! Great job, fantastic reporting!🌻🌼🐝 Keep it up 🙌
Bro when you first said “ big ass jar” I had a nice laugh but the middle finger in the jar for scale sent me over the edge 😅 Haven’t laughed that hard in a long time 👍 well done!
Dude, love the dry sense of humor in your presentation. Glad I found ya!
Your dry wit,is good! Hey show yourself!
water scorpion and toebitter are two different animals 5:49
This is pretty neat.
This is amazing.
Bro, never change!!
