  • After Rick Bowness and the players offered differing sentiments in their post-game comments, could there be some disconnect in the Jets' locker room about how to fix their issues? What could Winnipeg's lineup look like heading into a must-win Game 5 at home amid injuries to some key players? TSN's John Lu joins SC with Jay Onrait to discuss.

Bowness on the point. As an Avs fan, I am very surprised how everything clicks with Avs at the moment. It was a huge mistake for the Jets to embarrass the Avs at home 7-0 - payback time!

Are we sure this core will ever get it done its beginning seem like Toronto and their core.
We need another impact D for years now to play with Morrissey. I think the future should be with who we draft Perfetti,Lambert,Mcgroarty,Chibrikov,Lucius,Barlow,Heinola,Salmonsson, even goalie wise Milic/Divincentiis.

    • @jetsrno1

Hellebuyck and Scheifele are both signed long term and are in all likelihood going nowhere. I do see a bright future with the players that the Jets have drafted. If it was up to me they would all get the chance to earn a roster spot, Ehlers would be traded and Schmidt would be bought out. With the dearth of forward talent available, Could Kyle Connor be in play? Trading him might get the Jets a very capable defenseman.
Given the lack of playoff success, I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets finally let Cheveldayoff go. I am also of the opinion that Bowness will not be back behind the bench next season. That creates another question: who should be the next head coach? I would like the Jets to search outside the organization. The assistants can all walk as well. The special teams units have been anything but special.
The Jets need a lot of changes but have a nice prospect pool to draw from. Barring a miracle the Whiteout ends tomorrow. I would like to see the end of that tradition as well but that's just my opinion.

@@jetsrno1 do you think jets should move a ehlers/Connor for a real #2/1b center+ dman.
      Example Connor+ either Heinola/Stanley/Pionk for Horvat+Romanov+pick.
It's hard aquiring top centers I'm not sold on Guentzel/Lindholm. And we could push Lambert/Chibrikov/Lucius/Mcgroarty after NCAA to wings since trying Perfetti at center didn't work. If not comfortable with rookies sign a Toffoli types in free agency. Even on d if we could get a Sanheim,Provorov,Schneider,Byram someone play with Morrissey.
Since we most likely will lose Brossoit, demelo,Dillon,Monahan, toffoli,Miller.
We can't be like leafs bring back same old and expect change

@@jordanstreib3898 Ehlers should be good enough by himself to get that impact D. I would not be willing to part with Heinola. I have him making the lineup next season. However, I would not be against trading any or all of Stanley, Schmidt, or Pionk in any move(s) to bolster the lineup. If you suggest the Jets trade Kyle Connor then the Jets need to go out and find a 40 goal scorer to take his place. I'm always open to suggestions. GO JETS GO.

MacKinnon and Rantanen, the two top scorers for the Avs have been silent the whole series pretty much. The Jets have hyper focused on them and forgot just how good Lehkonen, Nichushkin, Mittlestadt, and Makar are. Not to mention they're making players like Miles Wood and Parise look like Auston Matthews. The series is showing the Avs aren't just a two-man team, the Jets could play better and win much easier if they wouldn't throw all their talent against 1 line

Jets have pylons for defensemen, or at least Colorado makes them look like that. Second problem is the Jets get 1 shot at net and then the puck is cleared, never spend any time in offensive zone. Colorado is not that good of a team. If Jets spent 10 mins in Colorados zone making them defend, the 5 players that play all of Colorado minutes would tire out and create an opening. Jets are not playing cohesively enough to do this and I don’t think they can change the way they are playing. Bonus is good but he is too rigid with the way he wants the team to look. They should have put Brossoit in the last two games, moved defensemen around a bit and put Ehlers back on the top line with either Vilardi or Connor!
