    reminds me of family i used to spend school summer holidays with in the dingle a me uncle in gpo exchange old hall street. lovely reminder of them times ,early 70's

    2018 and all Scouse families are still like this today, not much has changed has it? The wife was searched for over 2 years as she was the best looking! No bullshit that, i know it's true as i was one of the writers!

      She ruined what was not a great show to begin with..her disgusting common as muck accent and thick as pigshit intellect just cemented every stereotype about liverpool, thick ex-jailbird father, fucking common horrible mother..vile..and for youre information..ive never ever met 1 single family like this..its shameful that it was actually aired

    Never seen this before, it's not bad. Tony isn't a very believable part though. Just doesn't fit the rest of the family. You don't go away to university for a few years and change a Scouse accent for a middle class home counties version.

      It was famously awful and cancelled before the first series finished. Also, let's not forget that only an absolutely tiny amount of the population went to university in those days (less than 5% or so) - it was overwhelmingly middle class kids who did so. So it's very likely that the character that did go to university would have been surrounded by people like that and picked up their ways.

      Congratulations Sir. it s absolutely brilliant. the 1970s and 1980s series on middle classes. there s no middle classes anymore but the very wealth and very poor. it s shame. i remember Paul Young s song Love of the common people i think was the name. best.

    American here hopefully a britt can answer this question. Is it common to have the toilet outside the house? And common or not and houses that are set up this way is there a room in the house with the bathtub or the shower?

      Not common at all when this was made and non existent now. This comedy is playing on very old stereotypes even back then in 1975. Not sure what you mean about "the bath tub in the shower" ??

      @@th8257 sorry about that I meant bathtub or shower. Back when the toilet was out in the yard did they have a shower in the house or did you have to go out to the yard to shower too?

      @@th8257 it was common in the North of England in Cities like Manchester, To have toilets in the backyard certainly when you lived in a terraced house. I don't know how old you are or where you are from but you are wrong on this one

    This is one ifvtge worst parodies of a Liverpool family
    Inter religious marriage excon father unemployed, toilets in the yard what decade is this set in its not 1970 .
    The bad Catholic jokes about sex and birth control. No wonder people have a bad imoression of liverpool if this was the dramatic sitcom rubbish being put about.
    Houses without internal bathrooms sorry but that went out in 1950. Tin bath ,
    SORRY BUT THIS IS CRAP!
