it always bothered me why he was punching it instead of elbowing it. not only is the elbow a narrower surface, it can deliver much more powerful hits due to the position of the pectoral as the blow lands combined with the sheer thickness of the bone there, as opposed to the small, breakable bones in one's hand. and there's also much less damageable tissue on the elbow.

I have this theory that Michael Caine’s character was originally given a poor upbringing similar to Eggsy, or even worse. The evidence that I have to support this is his numerous derogatory comments throughout the film about commoners like Eggsy not being fit for this agency (internalized shame about his past) and near the end when eggsy poisons him and he begins cursing him in his last moments, his accent changes to some thing that sounds much less proper than it had been before, as if he was dropping the act. His ascension from lower class peasant to ‘Arthur’ had caused him to look down on others in such situations, like eggsy and his father.

Hi! Accent explanation: Eggsy's a chav. That's a kind of degoratory term for a working class person, it implies obnoxiousness, laziness, rudeness, and it specifically refers to urban groups (so, literally everyone Eggsy knows can be categorised as chavvy). He's very deliberately slotted in to chav culture and fashion. The posh Kingsmen recruit boys have what's known as RP, "recieved pronounciation": this is how the Queen speaks, and it's how incredibly rich and upper-class people are taught to speak, so that they don't have any discernable regional accent but instead just sound like they have money, and can therefore 'speak properly'. So the contrast between Eggsy's obviously regional and lower-class London accent and their RP iS meant to illustrate class difference. Colin Firth speaks with kind of RP, but less obnoxiously in-your-face RP (he could just be vaguely rich and Southern), which fits to his character as well - the interesting exception is Arthur, who still sounds London, if more upper-class than Eggsy.

something I've realized while watching this: in all of the tests that they're given, no one's supposed to die. you're put in a seemingly life or death situation, sure, but you're all supposed to make it out alive, and whoever performed the worst is eliminated. the train test, everyone (even the traitor) is lowered into the tracks. in the skydiving test, while Merlin says that there's one person without a parachute, he was lying to make it more high stakes. and the same can be said for the water room. no one was supposed to die, that girl was an accident. if everyone had worked together, like Merlin mentioned, she would've been kept alive and maybe sent home afterwards. it's really interesting.
which makes me personally wonder... did Lancelot (the girl) realize all of this, and that's why she pulled the trigger, and eggsy was just two slow to catch on? I dunno, I've obviously never encountered such situations so I don't know how I'd truly think, but I feel like I'd remember all of the other tests and realize "the dog won't die because this is just another test". but also, kind of a weird test. is it supposed to be "follow your orders no matter how extreme and/or unreasonable"? because if so, even if eggsy didn't know there were blanks in that gun, I still respect the decision to not kill his dog. I would have done the same, because that's a crappy test to give. I get it, the test was to see how loyal to the Kingsmen you'd be, but still a crappy test. "shoot your friend just because I told you to."

The term “British accent” is one of the most unrealistic things ever. First of all, when people say “British accent”, they only ever mean English, posh English to be precise. Britain contains four countries: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. England has possibly the widest range of accents, from Scouse (Liverpool) to Brummy (Birmingham) to the one you’re likely most familiar with, “posh” English. The reason Americans seem to think all of England speak posh is because the only place they hear the English accent is from theatre school refined actors and celebrities. There are 51 cities in England, all of which have different accents. Very different accents. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland also have their own wide ranges of accents. So, obviously now you can see why saying “British accent” makes no sense at all. London isn’t the entirety of the UK, yeah?

"No one, and I mean no one, deserves this" in reference to what you've identified as Westboro Baptist Church stand-ins. Try living in the same town with the actual Westboro Baptist Church. Fred Phelps brainwashed and beat his children, true, but some of them escaped him and survived that horror show, and most of them chose to stay in that environment, perpetuate it, and (among other things) torment people grieving their recently-dead relatives, blame every tragedy on their favorite scapegoats, spit on and rip up their country's flag . . . and that's just the stuff they did in public. And all in the service of provoking people into passing laws so they could sue and collect essentially fabricated legal fees through a law firm entirely made up of cult/family members. Do I think the actual WBC *deserves* having someone go berserk and slaughter their entire congregation, or for that congregation to be provoked into doing it to each other? I've stared Fred Phelps in the eye from inches away while he screamed hatred into my face -- let's just say I wouldn't waste a moment regretting it or mourning them if it happened.

Of course they didn't deserve that. Look closely at that action scene. Colin Firth dispatched most of them with a single clean shot to the head. It was far too easy for the scum. They died still believing that a higher power would welcome them. Grothu like fred phelps (don't capitalize, a name implies legitimacy) should be subjected to something like a Saw movie set to one quarter speed. He should have spent months in a nightmare of blood and rust and agony leavened with a generous portion of psychological torture until you can string up what's left and have him publicly denounce everything he ever believed in. Subject enough of them to that, and eventually the rest will fall in line. And if they don't? Well, they'll be getting what they deserve either way.

The amount of control they each had with their bodies mid-air let them share skills with each other, and while each group was trained in different ways, it usually took a quick demonstration for one group to pick up on the others tricks. A lot of fun and although I don't belong to either group, I was able to learn a couple things too.

One thing I noticed (and loved) about the directing of the action scenes, is that when there is a cut, the position on the screen of the focal point of action remains constant across the cut.
Otherwise your brain takes a fraction of a second to locate the new bit of action and you miss what happens for the next 1/4 of a second or so, and it's disorientating.
This way it's easier and quicker to pick up what's going on and makes the scene easier to follow.

So I actually remember the way I got into this movie, and exactly where it won me. I remember when I watched the trailer I basically said "eh, that seems like a cheesy bad spy movie". And in my defenses, it still is cheesy in its moments. Kingsman was out for years and eventually I walked into the living room where my mom was watching it when it just was something on the channel. I walked in right where they got their puppies and thought "oh that's silly, sure I'll watch this. It seems fun". Low and behold the moment the movie won me. It wasn't the puppy mercy, it wasn't the outfits, it wasn't the spy gentleman, it was the church fight scene. So many action movies have fights that are just bad, unrealistic, or just something that's almost like a copy and paste of previous action flicks. Kingsman cemented itself in my head with that amazing church fight being fun, had a fun song, was brutal, intuitive, along with some decently sized takes between cuts. Later I got into the John wick movies which have quickly become some of my favorites due to fight scenes alone.
Just wanted to say that this movie and a big reason why I liked it is because it's a movie that is absolutely cheesy yet silly, but more importantly has great choreography and amazing shots for the fight scenes. Something I'd love to keep seeing.

But jokey, non-serious criticism is mixed in with actual opinions on the movies, and many times what they claim.to be jokes has been said by them out of character in vlogs. Its inconsistent, and they use "its a joke" as an excuse for being extremely poor critics even when its their genuine opinion.

I'm surprised noones just made a channel of taking sins and wins on the same movie and putting them together to see how one man sins what another man wins

Actually, Pokesins does that with Pokemon Episodes. ... Kind of. The score is Always negative, because There is Clear emphasis for the sins but regularly, he point out good things, even in the worst episodes. But Yeah, Only Pokemon Episodes, Sadly

Umm, they're not "Kingsman" suits. They're just "suits". They were around LONG before the movie came out. Shops on Savile Row in London have been producing bespoke (custom tailored) suits for over 200 years.

During the church scene when Galahad gets deafened you see his confusion before he gets his hearing back and that small detail and others like it makes the movie perfect.
